Chapter 347: Chapter 344: Mind Reading Technique? [3rd Update]_1
Qin Shou’s mind flashed with this crooked thought...
"Damn rabbit, what are you thinking?" the little girl suddenly glared at Qin Shou, full of anger.
Qin Shou was taken aback and retorted, "What am I thinking?"
The girl snatched up a stool from nearby and raised it high, saying, "You think I don’t know?"
Qin Shou caught a righteous look on the little girl’s face, as if she knew everything, and he glanced at Dog Xiaotian out of instinct.
Dog Xiaotian said with a wry smile, "She was born with the Mind Reading Technique, and so far, no one has been able to prevent her from reading their mind."
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou was also startled! The Mind Reading Technique wasn’t scary or strange - after all, Barefoot Immortal had used this trick to deal with him before!
What’s scary is, Barefoot Immortal had once cast a spell to conceal his thoughts! Moreover, from the clues, it seemed that a Saint had helped him reverse the natural order, making it impossible for others to see through him or calculate his karma.
But this little girl saw right through him at a glance, is she a demon? No! Even demons couldn’t be this powerful! What kind of freak was she?
Smack!
A stool smashed onto Qin Shou’s forehead, and the little girl, fuming with rage, glared at Qin Shou and scolded, "You’re the demon, you’re the freak! Just like that damn dog, birds of a feather flock together. You two bastards, get lost!"
While speaking, the little girl wielded a stone in one hand and a broom in the other, lashing out at Qin Shou and Dog Xiaotian from both sides!
Qin Shou remembered his promise to Dog Xiaotian, to sit until dawn!
So Qin Shou endured the beating from the little girl while asking, "Damn dog, how much longer do we sit?"
But to Qin Shou’s surprise, that damn dog had already run away!
Qin Shou cursed loudly, "You disloyal thing!"
So Qin Shou quickly followed suit and ran, only for the little girl to chase after them, shouting as she pursued, "Damn dog, damn rabbit! You sat in my seats, aren’t you going to pay up? Tea seating fee, one Red Spirit Crystal per two hours!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou immediately got furious. He hadn’t eaten anything, got beaten up, and now he had to pay her? This broad is robbing me!
Just as Qin Shou was about to blow up, he heard Dog Xiaotian’s voice from somewhere, "Pay her! If you want to know what happens next, pay her!"
Qin Shou, left with no choice, reluctantly took out the money and threw it to the little girl.
Once the little girl caught the Red Spirit Crystal, she stopped chasing and stood panting heavily, glaring at Qin Shou’s retreating figure, cursing, "Damn rabbit, if you ever come back, I swear I’ll beat you to death!"
In his heart, Qin Shou felt wronged. What had he done? He hadn’t said anything out loud; was he not even allowed to think? No wonder that shop had no customers; with the girl’s nasty temper, who would come here to eat! And that damn dog, what on earth had he done that was so heinous, making the girl look like she wanted to devour him at first sight!
As Qin Shou was running away, he heard some hissing noises coming from the side.
Qin Shou turned his head and saw Dog Xiaotian giving him a sly look and whistling, signaling him to come over.
Qin Shou felt helpless and walked over, opening his mouth to scold, "Damn dog, come clean, did you or did you not sexually harass that little girl?"
Dog Xiaotian rolled his eyes and retorted, "I’m just a dog, if I were to harass, I’d harass a bitch, why would I bother a little girl? You think I’m like you?"
Qin Shou looked at Dog Xiaotian skeptically, "So it’s their family’s bitch you harassed!"
"Get lost! Do you think I, an elder dog, need to grovel for a bitch?" Dog Xiaotian cursed.
Qin Shou hummed, "Then what’s this really about? Why does that little girl look at you as if you’re her sworn enemy from a past life?"
With a bitter smile, Dog Xiaotian said, "Her... well..."
Dog Xiaotian wanted to delay explaining, but the Rabbit was just standing there with arms crossed, staring at him intently, showing no intention of leaving or changing the subject, as if to say, ’If you don’t talk, I’ll make you regret it.’
With no other choice, Dog Xiaotian had to explain, "Let’s just say, I’m not sure what the girl’s background is. However, I heard she’s quite pitiful. Her mother was going through a tribulation while pregnant with her, and just when she was about to fail, she passed all her mana and magic onto this girl. The mother’s spirit dispersed, while the girl, by some miraculous twist of fate and a series of coincidences, fully inherited her mother’s powers and endured the last inconsequential bit of the heavenly tribulation, and just like that, she crawled over the Ascension Bridge!
But the four Heavenly Lords guarding the heavenly gate were shocked; they had never seen a bare-bottomed infant crawl over the Ascension Bridge. Upon closer inspection, they were even more baffled...
The Heavenly Court has countless rules, yet none cover how to account for such a way of overcoming tribulation.
If they were to send the little girl back to the Lower Realm, she would immediately become a prize in the eyes of countless demons and devils, unlikely to survive three days.
So, the four Heavenly Lords decided to take the lead and jointly submitted a petition to the Lingxiao Hall. Li Jing and his family offered a surety, and with the support of other immortals, the Jade Emperor nodded and took in the girl.
However, it seemed this girl knew something; no matter who it was or how good they were to her, except for the immortal old lady who raised her, she’d always respond with a scowl.
Her family had no special talents, but they made pretty decent wontons, so many immortals would stop by to support their business during their spare time.
The girl only ever did business with immortals, never immortals. Previously, with the old lady pulling strings, everyone was willing to lend a hand to help her out.
But the immortal old lady passed away yesterday...
Qin Shou was startled and said, "So, you brought me here to do a good deed? That’s not right. The way she looks at you doesn’t quite fit that of an ordinary enemy!"
Looking up into the sky with a pained expression, Dog Xiaotian said, "Well, that... Initially, the girl wanted to become a disciple to my Second Master, but I stopped her from approaching him. The thing is, I didn’t know who she was at that time. And even if I had known, it would still need my Second Master’s approval! But this girl, she just stood stubbornly at the entrance of the hotel where my Second Master stayed for several days on end. When my Second Master said he wouldn’t take her, I had no choice but to play the heavy and drag her away...
It was then that I came to know her story. Can you really blame me for that? Damn it, I’m not the Second Master!"
Qin Shou nodded and replied, "So, it’s really not your fault. And then?"
Dog Xiaotian continued, "Thinking about this poor kid every day makes me feel uneasy, so I’d come by to eat wontons at her place every once in a while. I even helped talk up her prices... You need to understand, Red Spirit Crystals are quite valuable amongst immortals; a common person could live for years without worry. Their wontons are so expensive, no common immortal would come to eat... It’s all immortals posing as immortals who patronize them. But immortals, you know, once they retreat for cultivation, it could be years, so although there’s no shortage of folks to lend a hand, they don’t come around very often. So they’re still pretty poor."
Qin Shou said, "She doesn’t know?"
Dog Xiaotian shook his head and replied, "Definitely not, but the old lady knew and consented to everyone doing this, which is why they set such a high price. Now that the old lady is gone, I’m worried this girl will do something foolish..."
