Chapter 132: Is Red Eagle Stupid?
Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Is Red Eagle Stupid?
"Phew." Passing through the portal, Mu Can let down his guard and plopped down on the ground, exhaling deeply.
This journey, although the objectives were achieved, was filled with thrills not known to outsiders.
"Haha, we made it." Mu Can took out the gourd from the Reincarnation Pearl and laughed heartily, his face alight with excitement.
As he was laughing, he suddenly noticed that Purple Cloud’s expression seemed a bit off.
"What’s wrong, Cloud sis?" Mu Can asked cautiously.
"What do you think is wrong? Could you not use your brain for once? The Devouring God Tree was clearly falling asleep, and you had to flap your Flame Wings and provoke it?" Seeing Mu Can asking her, Purple Cloud was even more irritated and started scolding.
Mu Can was scolded by Purple Cloud so that he couldn’t even lift his head and could only say weakly: "Wasn’t I just trying to rescue him?"
After speaking, he raised the small eagle-shaped Red Eagle in his hand. Mu Can felt quite fortunate that Red Eagle had turned into a small eagle shape before being caught. If Red Eagle had turned into its huge true form or maintained a human shape, Mu Can reckoned the risk of rescuing him would have been even greater, maybe even leaving both of them behind.
"Alright, Cloud sis, don’t be angry, here." Mu Can passed the gourd to Purple Cloud with a fawning smile.
"What are you giving me this for?" Purple Cloud clearly wasn’t ready to let Mu Can off so easily.
"You just reshaped your body, and you need Life Energy right now." Mu Can said earnestly.
If it hadn’t been for Purple Cloud, Mu Can might not have chosen to take such a risk to snatch the gourd. His biggest goal was to get out alive; treasures were just a bonus.
"Oh." Purple Cloud’s expression slowly relaxed, but she still didn’t take the gourd from Mu Can’s hand.
"Analyze where you went wrong?" Although she didn’t intend to delve deeper into Mu Can’s recklessness, Purple Cloud still wanted Mu Can to realize the mistakes he had made in the recent battle.
Hearing Purple Cloud’s question, Mu Can’s expression turned serious, and he began to ponder. As the Immortal Realm Supreme, Purple Cloud’s combat experience was undoubtedly much richer than his own, and she would definitely be able to identify the problems in his fighting approach.
"I shouldn’t have activated my Flame Wings. If I hadn’t, I could have allowed the Devouring God Tree to stay asleep for a bit longer, increasing our chances of a safe escape." Mu Can said.
Seeing that Mu Can recognized his mistake, Purple Cloud was willing to leave it at that. Under the circumstances, even if Mu Can got caught, she had a way to rescue him. But what Purple Cloud wanted to teach Mu Can wasn’t about these actions.
"What I’m trying to tell you is that in battle, no matter how chaotic the situation, you must keep a clear head. Only then can you make the most appropriate decisions." Purple Cloud looked into Mu Can’s eyes and said with concern.
For Purple Cloud, Mu Can’s status was not just like a friend, but more like family. Their fates were already tightly bound together because of the Reincarnation Pearl.
"Mmm, I got it, Cloud sis. Drink up." Mu Can nodded seriously. He wasn’t oblivious to the concern in Purple Cloud’s words. But thinking about how the Life Divine Liquid in the gourd would help Purple Cloud, he couldn’t help but urge her.
"Mmm." Purple Cloud nodded, a touch of sweetness and emotion in her heart that even she had not noticed.
Seeing Purple Cloud drink the Life Divine Liquid, Mu Can smiled contentedly, relieved that his risk hadn’t been for nothing.
The Devouring God Tree not only lost its prey but also all of the Life Divine Liquid it had accumulated over the years.
Although enraged, not a single branch dared to extend into this chamber.
"Eh? Purple Cloud, look, it seems like the Devouring God Tree doesn’t dare to come over here," said Mu Can curiously, eyeing the thrashing branches of the Devouring God Tree with a look of wonder.
"Hmm." After drinking Life Divine Liquid, Purple Cloud felt as if she had entered a room filled with ice blocks in the searing heat of summer, her whole body enveloped in a comfortable sensation.
"He might have some restriction that prevents him from coming over, let’s ignore him for now. How will you deal with this little bird?" Purple Cloud touched the bound Red Eagle and asked.
"Well, let’s wake him up first." To tell the truth, Mu Can didn’t really like Red Eagle. He was too violent in battle, especially his behavior of reverting to his true form and devouring the defeated enemy which Mu Can particularly disliked.
But since it was already rescued, Mu Can had no intention of killing it.
Purple Cloud passed a gourd filled with Life Divine Liquid to Mu Can, signaling him to drip some on Red Eagle’s head.
Drip-drop, a drop of Life Spirit Liquid fell upon Red Eagle’s small head covered with red feathers, vanishing into the plumage.
Red Eagle’s small eyes began to move slowly, as if about to open.
As if it took a great effort, Red Eagle’s eyes finally opened. Upon seeing Mu Can, Red Eagle gathered his energy and shrank back, then looked at Mu Can with a wary expression.
"What are you looking at? I saved you, you know?" Mu Can said both amused and annoyed upon seeing Red Eagle’s guarded look.
"How can you prove that you saved me?" Red Eagle, now in bird form, was completely different from before; his voice had become soft and sweet, totally unlike his previous middle-aged man’s voice.
"See that tree? If I hadn’t saved you, you would have ended up like those fruits," Mu Can said, pointing to the Devouring God Tree next door, which was still going berserk.
"This bird isn’t brain-damaged, is it? Such a simple question it still asks," Mu Can said to Purple Cloud.
Purple Cloud observed that Red Eagle was hiding his form again, and his communication with Mu Can could be completely conducted through telepathy.
"It seems like it," Purple Cloud said, noting that Red Eagle also appeared to have some issues.
Red Eagle was indeed a little dim-witted; he looked at the Devouring God Tree next door, brandishing its claws, and after some thought, he asked another question that made Mu Can want to laugh and cry.
"What’s wrong with this tree?" Red Eagle now looked no different from a silly bird.
"It’s angry because it didn’t eat you," Mu Can replied irritably.
"Don’t trick me; I’m very smart." Red Eagle, possibly brain-damaged by the Devouring God Tree, spoke like a ten-year-old child.
"Investigation." Mu Can could no longer bear it and wanted to see what was wrong with Red Eagle.
"The injured Red Eagle seems to have had some accident, his consciousness might be impaired. You can choose to make him your Beast Pet, reducing one competitor," the voice of number thirty-six rang out.
As expected, Red Eagle was brain-damaged during the battle, now just a silly bird with a muddled mind.
And just like that, he could still be tamed as a Beast Pet.
