Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Xu Chao, Uncle Master?
Mu Can and Purple Cloud watched the mysterious person who was slowly transforming from a statue, their two different faces both displaying the same dumbstruck expression.
"Cough cough, you two kiddos over there, stop staring and come over here." The mysterious person had already noticed someone observing him, one of whom seemed to have a profound cause and effect relationship with him.
After all, he could clearly see the dense and intricate lines of cause and effect that connected them.
Hearing the mysterious person calling him, Mu Can could only pluck up his courage to slowly walk towards him, a face full of trepidation.
"Congratulations to the senior for breaking free from your confinement." Despite being full of vigilance, Mu Can didn’t show it on the outside, instead, he offered his congratulations with a smile.
"At least you, kid, know what’s good for you, much better than your damned master." The mysterious person looked over Mu Can approvingly, his face full of smiles.
"Senior knows my master?" Mu Can asked in confusion, knowing that the master mentioned by the mysterious person was definitely not Xuanyuan Mingkong from the Immortal Ancient Academy, just uncertain about who his own master was in the words of the mysterious person.
"Yes, the one who created this little sphere. You’ll meet him later." The mysterious person didn’t explain much.
Still, this statement set off a huge wave in the hearts of Mu Can and Purple Cloud - to think that the owner of the Reincarnation Pearl would take Mu Can as a disciple, such a grand opportunity.
"Your damned master made me sleep here for thirty thousand years," the mysterious person went on to say slowly.
What excitement there had been on Mu Can’s face chilled in an instant, a coldness spreading throughout his body from his back.
"Just kidding with you, kid. You looked so scared. Thirty thousand years is just a blink of an eye for us. I will take care of your master when I get back, don’t worry." The mysterious person glanced at Mu Can, saying with a laugh.
Mu Can felt naked under the mysterious person’s gaze, as if all his secrets had been seen through.
"By the way, my name is Xu Chao, you can call me Martial Uncle." Xu Chao was quite fond of Mu Can, and those familiar with the usually stoic Xu Chao would be shocked to see his current demeanor, likely dropping their jaws in astonishment.
"When did Xu Bingshan begin to smile?"
"Martial Uncle, it is an honor to meet you." Mu Can quickly bowed respectfully, relieved that Xu Chao had shown no intention to harm him, and the prospect of such a powerful Cultivator as his Martial Uncle filled his heart with joy.
"This young lady isn’t bad either. Nephew, you have a good eye." The mysterious person glanced at Purple Cloud, speaking to Mu Can with the air of an elder seeing his young relative has found a girlfriend, making both Mu Can and Purple Cloud blush.
"Thank you, Martial Uncle." Mu Can hastily expressed his thanks, the very picture of an obedient child.
Heaven knows, this casual Martial Uncle of his might just have an impressive level of Cultivation, viewing thirty thousand years as no more than a single sleep.
"Martial Uncle, what exactly is this Reincarnation Pearl?" Mu Can’s eyes flickered - he was finally in contact with a Great Power who seemed very knowledgeable about the Reincarnation Pearl, and he quickly asked.
Just as Xu Chao was about to tell Mu Can...
"Xiao Chao, if you dare reveal the secrets of heaven, I shall make you sleep for three hundred thousand years this time. Tell him, if he fails to unite the Demon, Mortal, and Immortal Three Realms within ten years, he cannot become my disciple." A cold voice rang in Xu Chao’s mind.
"I was wrong, senior brother," Xu Chao hurriedly admitted his mistake.
What he was about to reveal to Mu Can was replaced by, "You’ll find out in the future. The secrets of heaven must not be disclosed."
Mu Can had been full of hope, thinking Xu Chao might share something useful, but upon hearing Xu Chao’s words, he nearly stumbled to the ground.
"Someone has a message for you," Xu Chao said earnestly.
"What message?" Mu Can, seeing Xu Chao’s serious demeanor, straightened up to listen attentively.
"Some bastard said, if you don’t unify the Three Realms within ten years, you won’t be able to become his disciple," Xu Chao relayed the message of the mysterious person.
"Not to mention the Three Realms, these three minor realms don’t even compare to the size of one’s dwelling," Xu Chao muttered to himself.
These minor realms, without a single contender worthy of catching his eye.
"Unify the Three Realms within ten years, is this a test for me?" A shock went through Mu Can’s heart. The Xu Chao before him had already earned his trust, and based on Xu Chao’s earlier reaction, these words must have come from his casual master; otherwise, there would not have been such a strong reaction.
"I can do it." Looking at Xu Chao, Mu Can nodded forcefully. Since it was a test, there was no reason to fear.
Even without this test, Mu Can would eventually head to both the Immortal and Demon Realms to settle his and Purple Cloud’s grudges.
"The young lad is teachable." Xu Chao looked at Mu Can with satisfaction, growing fonder of him.
"Why don’t you become my disciple instead, I will give these three realms to you," Xu Chao said with a startling attitude.
"Xiao Chao, you dare," the mysterious person’s voice echoed in Xu Chao’s mind once again.
"I’m just testing the waters, big brother, I wouldn’t dare to poach your disciple," Xu Chao hurriedly explained.
Xu Chao had no idea what a tumult he had stirred in Mu Can’s heart.
When you’ve set a distant goal and resolutely decided to strive for it, yet someone lays everything you want before you, telling you it could all be yours with just a nod of the head.
Xu Chao did not know what most people would choose, but he was sure that a good number would choose to nod.
Mu Can was struggling fiercely in his heart, torn between acceptance and refusal.
And Xu Chao watched Mu Can, bemused.
Finally, Mu Can made up his mind and said to Xu Chao, "Although your proposal is tempting, Martial Uncle Xu Chao, I’d still like to settle my own scores. So, I’m sorry, I cannot accept. Although I haven’t met my master, I can’t let down the expectations she has for me, a Reincarnation Pearl is already sufficient."
Mu Can’s choice was a bit unexpected for Xu Chao, but upon reflection, it made sense.
If one couldn’t resist even this temptation, how could they be fit to be that person’s disciple?
"Since that is the case, I will give you a parting gift before I leave," Xu Chao declared, having slept for thirty thousand years and finding himself missing his friends.
"Thank you, Martial Uncle." Mu Can did not decline this time; he wasn’t foolish after all. Any trivial thing bestowed by such a Great Power could be a tremendous treasure to him.
"Awaken, Reincarnation City." Xu Chao stomped lightly and uttered softly.
As soon as the words were spoken, the entire Reincarnation City seemed to come to life in an instant.
Streets suddenly filled with passing Cultivators, and even a small squad of soldiers appeared on patrol.
Reincarnation City, with that one stomp, had been awakened.
