Chapter 118: Chapter 118: The Mysterious Statue

"Let’s search again, there must be a way to activate this city." Mu Can gritted his teeth, his intuition telling him that whether he could win the battle in the Death Space was greatly related to this city.

"We must find a way to activate this city." Purple Cloud nodded in agreement.

Mu Can searched in the study once more, but found nothing.

"Where could it be?" Mu Can scratched his head in distress, feeling that he was very close to the truth, and yet still missing just a little bit.

It seemed like a window-paper that just needed a gentle poke to break through.

"Little brat, do you remember seeing a statue in the city when we first arrived? I felt something unusual about that place." Purple Cloud too was struggling to think, it was impossible for both of them to come out empty-handed from a treasure mountain.

"Let’s go." Mu Can was not one to hesitate, immediately he took Purple Cloud towards the statue in the city.

The statue stood in a plaza, which Mu Can and Purple Cloud had noticed when they first entered Reincarnation City. But they had only thought about entering the City Lord Mansion to search, ignoring the statue.

The pair arrived at the plaza, looking up at the huge statue, a sense of being insignificantly small welled up from the depths of their hearts.

If it was just Mu Can feeling this insignificant, it would have been fine, but now even Purple Cloud felt dwarfed by it, and this was terrifying, for Purple Cloud, though not at full strength, was inherently one of the Immortal Realm Supremes.

Now, just a statue was inducing an overpowering sense of helplessness from the depths of her being.

"Could this be that legendary mighty figure?" asked Purple Cloud.

Mu Can couldn’t be sure. The statue depicted a male cultivator who looked to be about thirty years old, with a longsword hanging from his waist. The features were unclear, showing only a tall and well-proportioned physique, not appearing overly muscular, yet concealing immense strength within the body.

"It must be here." Mu Can walked around the statue and began to observe.

"Sister Yun, there are characters here." Walking behind the statue, Mu Can found a line of small characters carved into its back.

"Banished for thirty thousand years, awaiting the destined one." Purple Cloud read the characters on the back of the statue haltingly.

Mu Can pondered, "Sister Yun, this statue is probably not the creator of the Reincarnation Pearl, otherwise it definitely couldn’t bear such characters."

Banished for thirty thousand years, what kind of situation could lead to such a long banishment? Considering that a human life barely spans a century and even a Martial King aging only to around two hundred—Martial Venerate has a lifespan of nearly eight hundred years, and even the peak fighters of Human World, the Martial Saints, are not immortal, with about two thousand years of life span.

Only by ascending successfully to the Immortal World and going through the Heavenly Tribulation can one attain a nearly infinite lifespan.

Thirty thousand years is enough for seas to turn into mulberry fields.

"The destined one certainly refers to you. No one has ever been able to enter the Reincarnation Pearl before, yet it chose you," Purple Cloud said, staring at Mu Can.

I didn’t understand before, but it seems that the proactive Blood Recognition of the Reincarnation Pearl must have its reasons, Mu Can must indeed have his own extraordinary qualities.

Mu Can pondered for a moment, then walked in front of the statue, pressing his palms together.

"If I am indeed the destined one meant by the Reincarnation Pearl, I ask you to give me some enlightenment."

After speaking, he closed his eyes, waiting anxiously.

"You alright there, little brat?" Purple Cloud watched Mu Can, baffled, wondering how a fine child could suddenly turn silly.

Just as I was about to persuade Mu Can, a sudden change occurred.

Originally in the tranquil cloudless second level of the Reincarnation Pearl, a fierce wind suddenly kicked up, dark clouds quickly covered the sky, and within the heavens a huge void appeared, right above Mu Can’s head.

Mu Can felt the changes outside, opened his eyes, and looked up into the sky, just in time to see a small item falling from the vast void above him.

Instinctively stretching out his hand, he caught it perfectly, and in the next moment, the dark clouds slowly dissipated, and the world returned to its clarity, as if the previous changes had just been a dream.

"Yun Yi, this..." Mu Can stared dumbfounded at the object in his hand, which turned out to be a small yet exquisite Jade Pendant, smooth and restrained yet pregnant with divine light, as if harboring something inside.

The Jade Pendant was carved into the shape of a key, with one end of the key handle tied with a red string.

"This works too." Purple Cloud looked at Mu Can, shocked, her mind struggling to comprehend.

"I just wanted to try, if I am the recognized master of the Reincarnation Pearl, then my words must have an effect, hehe, who knew a Jade Pendant would fall from the sky," Mu Can said, playing with the Jade Pendant lightly.

"this Jade Pendant is no ordinary thing; little rascal, try the Blood Recognition." Purple Cloud observed the Jade Pendant that fell from the sky, sensing it might be a Magic Artifact.

"Blood Recognition?" This process was unheard of in the Mortal World, where Magic Artifacts could be used as long as one had the strength to wield them.

"Yes, Blood Recognition, this could be a Divine Level Magic Artifact." Purple Cloud said, looking at Mu Can expectantly.

Initially, in Purple Cloud’s eyes, Mu Can was someone with particularly good luck, but now it seemed, Purple Cloud’s judgment might not be entirely accurate; Mu Can’s luck was not just good, it had reached the level of Qi Fortune.

Luck and Qi Fortune, though only slightly different, represent vastly different things.

Mu Can lightly cut a small incision in the palm of his hand, placing the Jade Pendant within it.

The blood that flowed was instantly absorbed by the Jade Pendant, which then underwent a transformation.

The Jade Pendant began to slowly levitate, emitting a faint glow, and instantly flew towards the huge statue.

It entered into the top of the statue’s head.

"Step back." Mu Can pulled Purple Cloud, retreating slowly.

The Jade Pendant entering the body, seemingly activated some kind of seal.

The statue gradually changed, its surface shifting from its original gold-not-gold, earth-not-earth state to appear more real.

"It moved." Mu Can, pulling Purple Cloud, moved back quite a distance and stared intently at the statue in front of them, suddenly noticing the statue’s eyes seemed to slightly move.

"I saw it too." Purple Cloud also seemed to see that the statue slightly moved its eyes, as if it was about to open them.

The transformation continued; not only did the statue start to look more flesh and blood, but it also slowly began to shrink in size.

The statue, now better called a mysterious figure, slowly opened its eyes, emitting two beams of golden light piercing through the clouds in the sky, creating a huge hole.

"I’ve slept thirty thousand years, Senior Brother, you indeed are stronger than me, but I won’t accept defeat." The mysterious cultivator narrowed his eyes as if sensing something, speaking slowly.

The statue had indeed come to life.
