Chapter 256: Chapter 256: Seeing

An Yin didn’t know if he was telling the truth, and pursed her lips, her goose-egg-shaped face full of anxiety.

The sight of the feast on the table instantly made An Yin forget her worries.

She stared at the table, confused, "How do we order here?" An Yin looked around; only the two of them were left in the private room, and the large white door was tightly closed.

"Already ordered."

Bao Shaojin withdrew his somber gaze, and glanced sidelong at the young girl.

The young girl’s skin was as bright and smooth as porcelain, her tender and pure face outshining the flowers in the room; at this moment, it seemed as if all the world’s beauty couldn’t compare to her captivating allure.

There seemed to be a kind of magic about the young girl, a compulsion in his gaze always drawing back to her.

Ever since Bao Shaojin said that he had ordered the dishes, An Yin glanced occasionally in the direction of the door.

Just as she wore a look of eager anticipation, the door of the private room was pushed open, and the Attendant wheeled in a dining cart.

As plate after plate of exquisite dishes were placed on the table, An Yin was dumbfounded by the dazzling array of selections, her eyes wide as she stared at the man beside her, stammering, "Bao, Bao Shaojin, so many dishes, can we finish them all?"

In truth, she was worried about the money!

An Yin noticed that while the plates were large, there was only a tiny portion of food inside, with various flowers arranged around the edges, looking novel and peculiar. This was her first time dining in such a restaurant.

If she didn’t consider the cost, An Yin felt that the restaurant’s atmosphere was rather unique, and even her mood changed with the beautiful scenery.

He ignored An Yin’s question, picked up a piece of flower cake, and placed it in her bowl, "Try it."

Bao Shaojin sat with a casual posture, his forehead hair gently sweeping aside, those dark eyes faintly visible behind the bangs, exuding an inexplicable mysterious aura.

An Yin frowned slightly, always feeling that the man was urging her to eat?

Having not eaten since morning, An Yin was indeed hungry. Moreover, the man’s thoughts were too complex, and she couldn’t fathom what he was thinking, so she might as well eat.

As she ate, An Yin deliberately counted, there were eighteen types of dishes on the table. However, the food on the plates was only enough for a couple of bites before it was gone. No wonder Bao Shaojin ordered so much, An Yin thought guiltily. She felt she could finish all these dishes by herself.

As it turned out, she actually could!

In the meantime, Bao Shaojin only symbolically took a couple of bites, with most of the food going into An Yin’s bowl.

"Are you full?"

Looking at the plates that now only had some decorative pieces left, Bao Shaojin asked casually.

An Yin hadn’t expected that these dishes, which looked fancy, would taste so delicious, "I’m full." An Yin mumbled, feeling that she was supposed to treat the man to dinner, yet she ended up eating most of it herself. She lowered her head, staring at the side of the table, "I’ll go pay the bill first."

After saying this, she made a move to slowly stand up.

"No rush."

Bao Shaojin’s thin lips parted slightly, a vaguely meaningful expression on his well-defined face.

"Is there anything else?" An Yin blinked her bright eyes, looking puzzled.

"You can enjoy the flowers and digest your food." As Bao Shaojin spoke, his gaze drifted to the hall below.

"Oh."

With the man’s reminder, An Yin realized that she had come to such a unique place to dine, and indeed needed to cherish this opportunity. Besides, she had only glanced around hastily just now, and having finished eating, she immediately stood up and walked to the edge.

"Can people below see us through the glass?" An Yin asked in confusion.

"Impossible." Bao Shaojin replied, noticing the girl’s natural demeanor and her gaze lingering on those dewy roses. Bao Shaojin then stood up and walked toward An Yin.

He was tall and slender, standing behind An Yin, making her seem even smaller and frailer.

After hearing the man’s words, An Yin was startled. So, the private room they were in was akin to an observation deck, capturing not only the beautiful views within the private room but also the hall below within their sight.

Her gaze inadvertently swept across the crowd downstairs, and that familiar face made her body stiffen.

That’s...

Keke and Bao Cheng.

They were sitting face to face at a long table, their hands on the table tightly clasped together.

From An Yin’s angle, she could see their eyes meeting, Jiang Keke’s face always adorned with a sweet smile, and Bao Cheng said something that made Jiang Keke lower her head and laugh with carefree abandon.

An Yin was shocked while feeling the strong and domineering aura of the man behind her surge toward her.

Jiang Keke was her good friend, and Bao Shaojin had seen her before.

In Bao Shaojin’s heart, Bao Cheng’s "girlfriend" should have been herself, yet the scene downstairs clearly showed that they were in a relationship.

An Yin’s heart pounded wildly, and she quickly turned away, finding the man looking at her with deep, penetrating eyes, as if he had anticipated her startled demeanor all along.

An Yin didn’t have time to think, wanting only to leave quickly and prevent Bao Shaojin from discovering that Bao Cheng was on a date with her good friend. She trembled and said, "Let’s, let’s go."

The girl’s expression was extremely unnatural, clearly trying to avoid things.

"An Yin, what are you afraid of?" Bao Shaojin’s eyes were dark as he took a step towards her.

They were less than a meter apart, and the man’s imposing presence made An Yin instinctively back away. She murmured dismissively, "What are you talking about, I’m not, not afraid."

Bao Shaojin took two more steps forward, cornering her with no room to retreat.

An Yin’s hands clutched the corners of her clothes tightly, not daring to meet his eyes. The next second, the man’s strong hand gripped her chin firmly, forcing her to look up.

Then, the man turned her face to a direction, allowing her to see where Bao Cheng was.

"Bao, Shao, Jin." Gripped by her chin, An Yin’s voice came out muffled.

"Tell me, what do you see?"

The young girl extended her hand trying to push him away, but the man was too strong, and An Yin was no match for him. Her chin ached slightly, and under the man’s compulsion, her gaze had no choice but to fall on Bao Cheng.

Her eyelashes fluttered, and her eyes were full of complex emotions.

"That’s your friend, isn’t it?" Bao Shaojin said bluntly.

An Yin bit her lower lip, staying silent.

The girl’s reaction was beyond Bao Shaojin’s expectations; she showed more panic than anything else.

Your best friend and your boyfriend hit it off, shouldn’t you be angry? Bao Shaojin’s heart sank. Did she already know? So she wasn’t at all surprised to see Bao Cheng and someone else appearing here as a couple?

"Speak." Bao Shaojin demanded harshly.

If his previous suspicion was confirmed, a storm brewed in Bao Shaojin’s dark eyes, fearing he might not be able to stop himself from strangling her!

His breath gradually became rapid.
