Chapter 255: Picking You Up
Chapter 255: Chapter 255: Picking You Up
The young girl’s voice was soft and tender, as if she was the one being aggrieved.
An Yin saw his tightly pursed lips and softly called out again, "Bao Shaojin."
No one had ever called his name so directly and repeatedly like this.
Assistant Lin, who was driving, was used to the situation between the two of them in the back seat. His heart was in his throat, silently wondering why Mr. Bao was acting distant. Clearly, he cared deeply, but he deliberately ignored Miss An?
"Don’t want me to pick you up?"
Bao Shaojin said coldly.
Each word was like a sharp blade, targeting An Yin directly.
An Yin was momentarily stunned, realizing that his reason for being angry was that she didn’t want him to pick her up? No wonder during their previous phone conversation, he suddenly fell silent.
An Yin slowly shifted her gaze and said softly, "If my classmates see me often going out in a luxury car, they’ll gossip."
Bao Shaojin’s sharp eyebrows knitted tightly, not expecting this issue. Although the young girl appeared naive and confused, the fact she was aware of this problem indicated that rumors had already reached her ears. Thinking of this, a hint of harshness surfaced on Bao Shaojin’s stern face.
The cold air from the man made An Yin uneasy in her seat.
She timidly raised her head, "Please don’t be angry, okay?"
The young girl’s gentle words were like warm sunshine in spring, falling onto Bao Shaojin’s heart.
Mr. Bao wasn’t a petty person. The girl’s repeated attempts to ease his anger made the atmosphere decidedly strange. Assistant Lin, eyes darting in all directions, nonetheless kept his perceptive heart focused on the backseat’s happenings.
"I’ll figure something out." Bao Shaojin’s deep, unreadable eyes flashed with a dark glint.
"Huh?" An Yin blinked her bright eyes, unable to keep up with his pace.
What kind of solution?
Bao Shaojin turned his head and looked directly at her beautiful face. The young girl’s clear and exquisite eyes, her flawless skin, her delicate features, and her petite and light figure all caught his eye.
The dark light in his eyes grew ever more intense.
When the man looked at her, An Yin’s mind went blank, and by the time she snapped out of it, the man had already turned away, resuming his previous aloof demeanor.
An Yin took a deep breath. The man’s intense gaze felt like a dream.
She turned her lost gaze out the window, finally remembering her purpose for today.
"Bao Shaojin, what do you want to eat?" When An Yin spoke, her whole body was tense, worried that if the place the man wanted to go to was too expensive, she wouldn’t be able to afford it.
"The place is already chosen." When Bao Shaojin said this, his calm face seemed to hide a storm beneath.
"Is it expensive there?" An Yin asked weakly.
This was her biggest concern.
An Yin turned her head.
The man’s black hair, sharp eyebrows, and distinct contours resembled an eagle in the night, cold and commanding, emanating a domineering presence.
An Yin silently dropped her head, her fair ears flushing with a tinge of red.
The man did not answer her question.
Throughout the journey, An Yin was filled with anxiety, fearing that this lunch would exceed her expectations. Initially, she thought two hundred bucks would cover it.
The car drove into the city center, heading to the underground parking lot.
An Yin noticed that no matter where Bao Shaojin was, he always enjoyed the top-tier services. For instance, the parking spot Assistant Lin chose seemed different from the ordinary ones.
After getting off the car, they followed Assistant Lin into a private elevator.
An Yin trotted along behind Bao Shaojin, occasionally glancing around.
The elevator stopped on the twenty-sixth floor.
Stepping out of the elevator, An Yin realized she had never been to this place.
Finally, Assistant Lin led them to a very unique restaurant.
The name of the restaurant was arranged with red roses. As An Yin was about to see clearly what the name was, the man’s steps were too fast for her to keep up, forcing her to focus entirely on him.
When they reached the entrance, a man in a suit emerged, respectfully approaching them, "Mr. Bao, this way please!"
Bao Shaojin’s stern face remained unchanged.
They passed a spiral staircase, her feet stepping on the glass, allowing her to see the colorful roses below. An Yin discovered that the layout of this restaurant gave off an ultimate sense of romance.
Everywhere they went, the air was filled with a rich fragrance.
Under the manager’s guidance, they arrived at the most luxurious private room in the restaurant.
This room was like an aerial garden, suspended above the hall. From their position, through the glass, they could clearly see the diners downstairs, whilst those below couldn’t see Bao Shaojin and his group at all.
The privacy of this room was clearly excellent.
At this moment, Assistant Lin whispered into the manager’s ear, "Bring out your signature dishes."
"Understood, Assistant Lin."
After receiving the order, the manager left in a hurry.
Assistant Lin signaled to the attendants on both sides, who then left one after another.
Within the glass-walled aerial garden, An Yin was still immersed in the beautiful scenery, not noticing that everyone else had left. She looked at the vibrant red roses around her, unable to resist reaching out to gently touch the petals.
"Wow, these are real roses." An Yin exclaimed, her eyes filled with wonder since walking in.
In the spacious private room, in the center was a magnificent round table, with a white vase prominently placed in the middle filled with pink roses. Dining at this table, the view ahead was quite eye-catching.
"Mm, they’re all real." Bao Shaojin quietly observed her.
The young girl’s serene smile, wondering if she could handle seeing certain things later? Thinking about how she liked to cry often, Bao Shaojin rubbed his brow.
Well, let her cry, and he’ll console her!
Hearing the man’s words, An Yin looked around and realized they were the only ones left in the private room, surprised, "Where’s Assistant Lin?"
"Waiting outside."
"Oh." Seeing the man seated at the dining table, An Yin moved her steps, sat beside Bao Shaojin, and couldn’t help but ask, "Bao Shaojin, it must be expensive to eat here, right?"
If the man weren’t so domineering and overbearing, An Yin would have wanted to drag him out right then.
This place, just the environment alone, gave off a sense of luxury, making An Yin’s heart race, constantly wanting to leave.
"I have a discount." Seemingly speaking with An Yin, Bao Shaojin’s icy eyes glanced through the glass at the hall.
In the hall, a handsome man and a beautiful woman walked closely hand in hand. The girl clung tightly to the man’s arm, their affectionate posture disregarding the gawking eyes around them, appearing very much like a pair of lovers deeply in love.
