Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please!
Chapter 293 - 293 The Direction of a Will

Chapter 293: The Direction of a Will Chapter 293: The Direction of a Will Victoria Garcia never expected that at the end of the workday, a person in a police uniform would suddenly walk into her office and put handcuffs on her hands.

“Please tell me, what crime have I committed?” Victoria asked, puzzled.

One of the police officers replied, “There is evidence now indicating that the victim, Kaelin Johnson, was killed by you.”

“What? Kaelin is dead? When did this happen?” A trace of horror appeared in Victoria’s eyes, as it had been less than five hours since she had last seen Kaelin.

How did Kaelin suddenly die?

Why did the police say it was her who killed Kaelin?

“I have no idea about this. I didn’t kill her,” Victoria explained.

“The evidence points to you as the murderer. Please come with us to the police station,” the police officer sternly replied.

With that, Victoria didn’t argue any further; after all, it was normal for the police to take her in for questioning if they thought she was a suspect.

When Victoria was escorted out by the police, all of her colleagues looked at her, confused.

“Vice President Garcia, what’s going on?” A bold coworker asked.

Victoria calmly responded, “It’s nothing. I just need to go to the police station to clarify some matters. I’ll be back at work in a few days.”

Her expression was very relaxed, so most of her colleagues chose to believe her.

Of course, there were a few people who gloated over her misfortune, particularly her father, Terry Garcia.

In his view, the “thorn in his side” within the company had finally received her “comeuppance.” Regardless of whether or not it threatened his interests, he didn’t care if the person was his daughter. Moreover, he had too many children and had always been indifferent to his parental love.

As soon as Victoria was taken in by the police, lawyers arranged by Candy Foster and Arnold Johnson followed suit.

After Victoria’s questioning session was over, Candy met with her.

“General Garcia, did they give you a hard time?” Candy asked, concerned.

Victoria shook her head, “It was just routine procedure. They asked me why I killed Kaelin, but I didn’t kill anyone, let alone her. We barely knew each other, so I have no idea why she got into trouble.”

Candy said, “Currently, the evidence from all aspects points to you, and you are the only suspect.”

“Just because I was the last person to see her?” Victoria asked helplessly, “She insisted on meeting me, saying that she had to see me. If I had known there would be trouble, I would never have agreed to see her.”

By the end, Victoria’s emotions were also a bit agitated.

“Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out,” Candy reassured her.

At that moment, the lawyer by their side spoke up, “Miss Garcia, the two most crucial pieces of evidence pointing towards you as the prime suspect are: one, your fingerprints on the knife that killed Kaelin; and two, a letter Kaelin left before she went to see you, stating that she was planning to find you to settle the issue and to let her sister find you in case anything happened to her.”

Victoria’s eyes widened in shock; after she had regained her composure, she said, “I can explain about the fingerprints. It’s true that Kaelin pointed the knife at me, and it touched my skin, but I didn’t engage her any further after that and just left. As for the letter, I guess only she would know. Is it possible that she was insane enough to commit suicide and then frame me for it afterward?”

If that were true, Kaelin would be not only terrifying but also pitiful.
