Chapter 294 - 294 The Direction of a Will 2
Chapter 294: The Direction of a Will 2 Chapter 294: The Direction of a Will 2 On second thoughts, suicide was improbable. Kaelin Johnson was a spoiled child, even with her reckless behavior, she could joke around with other people’s lives, but wouldn’t play jokes with her own life.
If it wasn’t suicide, then who had really murdered her?
“To prove Kaelin Johnson’s suicide we need evidence, evidence can also be our starting point.” the lawyer calmly suggested.
Victoria Garcia thought for a moment, asking, “Are we certain it’s her suicide note? Had she decided to take her life before she came to see me? If that’s the case, could the suicide note also be used to prove that she did not kill me and thought of this plan to frame me?”
Her words left the already quiet room even quieter.
A moment later, the lawyer replied, “The chances of that are very slim. Although her note did mention sorting things out with you, it didn’t say she was going to kill you. Despite her mentioning the possibility of an accident occurring, such vague words can’t be taken as absolute evidence. Winning this case with this argument alone is highly unlikely.”
“But I didn’t kill Kaelin Johnson,” Victoria Garcia clarified again, “if it’s impossible to prove that Kaelin committed suicide or that she didn’t, then there must be another killer. There must be some traces left by the true killer.”
The lawyer responded once more, “The worst part right now is that all the evidence points only towards you.”
Hearing these words, Victoria Garcia felt devastated, her optimism plummeting.
She didn’t kill Kaelin Johnson. Kaelin didn’t commit suicide. So who on earth had killed her? Was it one of Kaelin’s enemies or someone simply trying to frame Victoria Garcia?
Victoria Garcia put her hands on her forehead in agony.
“General Garcia, don’t worry, there will be a way to prove your innocence,” Candy Foster comforted, though she herself was distressed.
The lawyer pursed his lips and added, “There’s still a chance of overturning this situation. Right now, Chairman Johnson is checking for eye-witnesses. If there is any eye-witness, we could disassociate you from this quite smoothly.”
In his heart, the lawyer knew very well how cunning Arnold Johnson’s tactics were. Even if there were no eye-witnesses, one would appear nonetheless – as long as Arnold wanted Victoria out, even if she were the murderer, he could turn her into an innocent person.
This was why the lawyer was not concerned at all about whether she was the killer or not.
Victoria Garcia tried hard to recall. When she left Kaelin, it was almost noon and there was no one at the North Campus Gate of Authority University due to the high temperature. Not even the old gatekeeper could be seen from where they were.
But there were cars parked by the roadside. The question was whether there was someone inside them?
While Victoria Garcia was working hard to remember, the atmosphere at the Johnson Old Mansion was even tenser.
Looking at her younger sister’s already cold corpse, Chloe Johnson couldn’t believe that Kaelin, who was alive and kicking this morning, was now suddenly gone.
She was the sister she loved the most and the person who loved her the most.
In Chloe’s heart, there were two people she couldn’t lose. One was Arnold Johnson and the other was her sister, Kaelin Johnson. They were the dearest to her heart.
Now, someone had hurt her loved ones, and she was determined to make them pay an even more painful price.
“Victoria Garcia… Victoria Garcia…”
Chloe Johnson kept whispering this name…
