Chapter 986: Chapter 979: Negotiation Chip

"Give me that thing!" Talis suddenly rushed forward, reaching out to snatch the tube-like object from the device, but was immediately blocked by Luo’er.

"Are you looking to die, wanting to become a corpse like your teammate?" Luo’er warned, frowning.

"Don’t touch that thing!" Talis said excitedly.

"You’d better not move either, this place is still under Liseya’s control, try anything if you’re not afraid of dying," Tangmo said with a shrug.

"Tch!" Talis looked up at Liseya, and although she was unwilling, she knew that she couldn’t contend with Liseya and could only retreat resentfully.

"Ziang!" Tangmo nodded towards Cheng Ziang, giving him a sign.

Getting Tangmo’s cue, Cheng Ziang nodded, then stepped forward to examine the tube, attempting to remove the object. Now he had grown bolder, rarely needing to look at Liseya’s face, for he knew that no matter what he did, Liseya would not harm him.

He grasped the tube-like object, twisting it left and right a few times, and finally rotated it counterclockwise by one hundred degrees, as if he had unlocked some mechanism inside the device, and easily pulled out the object.

Standing up with the tube-like object in hand, he weighed it up and down a few times. The tube was cylindrical in shape, about thirty centimeters in length and roughly ten centimeters in diameter.

When held in hand, there was a cold, sleek sensation of metal. Shaking it slightly, he could clearly feel that there was some strange liquid inside, sloshing with the movement of the container.

After weighing it for a moment, Cheng Ziang estimated that the tube-like object, along with the liquid inside, weighed about four kilograms. He felt that the container did not have a high density, so he thought that most of the weight must come from the liquid inside.

He shook the container roughly up and down, feeling that the liquid inside was not watery but much thicker; as he shook it, he could distinctly feel the stickiness of the liquid.

"Don’t, don’t be so rough with it," Talis voiced her concern upon seeing Cheng Ziang’s actions.

"What’s the matter, is it going to explode?" Cheng Ziang asked calmly.

"That thing is very precious, if any leaks out, then all the people who died would have died in vain," Talis said, furrowing her brows, her voice almost pleading, entirely losing her earlier arrogance.

"Is this what you call the Prime Fluid?" Tangmo moved closer to Cheng Ziang, closely examining it while pinching his chin. Without his permission, even Tangmo didn’t dare to take anything lightly.

"Did you not see this kind of thing when you were assembling Xiao Fula’s body?" Cheng Ziang asked.

"No," Tangmo shook his head and said affirmatively, "That device didn’t have this kind of thing, not even a cylindrical slot. Strange, the slot for the Prime Fluid and the module slot are so close to each other, could it be that this is also an ingredient used to create gods?"

Cheng Ziang observed carefully and then pointed at the bottom and said, "There’s a hole at the bottom, but it seems to have been sealed off."

Saying that, he leaned in close and sniffed forcefully.

"What are you doing?" Tangmo stared at him with wide eyes, asking in shock.

"To smell what it’s like, to see if it might be a chemical," Cheng Ziang answered as if it were obvious.

"You know about chemistry? If your chemistry teacher saw you sniffing like this, they’d probably break your legs," Tangmo said with a helpless shake of his head.

"It’s not a big deal, there’s no other strange smell on this, just a hint of dampness," Cheng Ziang said with a shrug.

"Hmm... this doesn’t look anything like a magic component module. Why would Xiapei Kam instruct the Talis squad to find this thing? Could it really be used to create bodies like Fula’s?" Tangmo stared at the Prime Fluid, falling into deep thought once again.

"Hey, Night Elf," Cheng Ziang called out to Talis, "What’s the use of this thing exactly, and how do you use it?"

"How would I know? I merely follow orders," Talis replied.

"Do you truly not know or are you pretending not to know?" Cheng Ziang asked skeptically.

"Of course, I don’t know," Talis said discontentedly. "We obey Xiapei Kam’s commands, doing whatever she asks without question."

Hearing her words, Cheng Ziang pondered for a moment before turning to Liseya with a sincere look. "Ancestor, may I take this thing out?"

Liseya listened quietly until he finished speaking, then after a long while, she gave a slight nod. Cheng Ziang understood then that almost any request of his own would not be denied by her.

Moved by this realization, Cheng Ziang couldn’t help but wonder how she had recognized him as her descendant. Was it because of blood relations or the realm intrusion from last time?

Cheng Ziang remembered being pierced through by Liseya twice, with his realm severely intertwining with Liseya’s during the incident. It was probably then that she glimpsed his identity.

"Good," Cheng Ziang nodded in satisfaction, then turned to Talis and shook the Prime Fluid in his hand, saying, "Listen well, Talis. We have obtained the Prime Fluid. In order for you to honor your promise, we’ll keep this with us. When you get Luo’er’s matter sorted out for us, we’ll hand it over to you."

"That’s unfair, you’re just making up prices on the spot!" Talis exclaimed angrily.

"This is fair," Cheng Ziang said coldly. "Let’s get it straight; you don’t have much to bargain with, to begin with. If we really were to be fair, you have no place to argue with us. We’re willing to trade now, and we set the terms. If you don’t like it, then leave. We’ll find another Night Elf to take us to Xia Yue Island, but then you can forget about the Prime Fluid."

"You!" Talis was so angry at his words that she was left speechless, and although unwilling to resort to violence, she could only stamp her feet on the spot and make annoyed noises from her throat.

"While I don’t know the purpose of this Prime Fluid, it sure makes for an interesting research topic. Your Xiapei Kam can wait. We’ll give it to you once we figure out what’s in the Prime Fluid."

"I, I, I understand..." After struggling for quite some time, Talis forced out the words. From her voice, it was evident she was infuriated.

"That’s more like it," said Cheng Ziang, squinting and smiling smugly before handing the Prime Fluid to Luo, "Luo, take this. We’ll keep this with us for now."

"Luo?" As soon as the words were out, Cheng Ziang realized something was off about Luo.

He saw Luo lowering his head, with a blank, lifeless look in his eyes. His lips were muttering as if he were mumbling to himself. His hands hung down in a stiff posture, giving off a vibe of the Walking Dead.

"No way..." Realizing the situation, Cheng Ziang’s eyes widened as he clenched his fists.

Just then, Luo suddenly lunged forward and snatched the container of Prime Fluid from Cheng Ziang’s grasp. The force was so great that Cheng Ziang was caught off guard, watching speechlessly as Luo swiftly took the Prime Fluid from him.

"Stop him, not this again!" Cheng Ziang quickly reacted, pointing at Luo and shouting loudly.

Luo raised his hands high, lifting the Prime Fluid above his head as if to smash it down hard. The Soul Summoning Bell around his neck jangled intensely due to his movements, emitting a piercing jingle, utterly failing to calm Luo’s frenzied actions.

His face was twisted, he held up the container of Prime Fluid, and from his continuously opening and closing mouth came strange, hoarse, spent sounds that resembled neither Tasta nor Chinese.
