Chapter 91: Chapter 91 Timid Hacker And Blonde Young Man

As soon as the man fell, Kelsie turned and began walking towards the farm house.

However, a group of gangsters suddenly rushed out of a corner to block her path, boiling with righteous indignation.

"You will pay for your boyfriend’s sin!"

Offended, Kelsie pressed her lips into a thin line.

Boyfriend? Why would anyone pair her with that jerk?

She narrowed her eyes at them, the urge to beat them up instantly overwhelming her.

The gangsters suddenly felt a chill run down their spine.

Ignoring the weak-looking woman in front of them, their witty eyes darted to Jett, who they thought caused them to shiver, and grinned wickedly.

Even if he ran, it’d take him at least ten seconds to get to her and that was enough time to drag her with them and put a reasonable distance between him.

They had just reached out to grab her when the gang leader in the car alighted from it.

Seeing him caught them off-guard, but the next second, they hurriedly waved at him, "The big boss will reward you for luring them to us. Get in the driver’s seat and take us out of here!"

The gang leader, who had just seen how easy it was for Jett to take down the 7ft man, didn’t know what to do.

The big boss’ top goon who dealt with literally anyone who opposed him was easily taken down by this man.

If he listened to these gangsters and helped them grab Kelsie, this man with her would surely make his threat of burying him alive come true.

But if he refused to help the gangsters, once these people left, the big boss would surely make his life a living hell. He could even be killed.

He was at a loss of what to do when they heard a scream from the alley in front of them.

"Wh-what are you doing? I don’t have any money with me."

"The laptop’s the only thing I have. If you’re going to take it, then please give me some money to return back to Silicone Valley..."

Smack!

"You talk too much. Why do you think you have a say here? Say one more word and your laptop won’t be the only thing we’re taking!"

"No, please! It’s the only hope I have to get out of here. If you take it, how will I make it back to..."

Smack!

"This dumb bitch, are you deaf? Say one more word and I’ll rip out your darn tongue!"

"Zoe Derruci? Hey, what a beautiful name!"

"Even though you have your hair covering your face, I can tell by that alluring eyes of yours that you’re a real charmer."

"Hey, is that bastard dead?"

"I don’t know. It’s been a minute since i stabbed him. I’ll go check."

Instead of dealing with the gangsters in front of her like she intended, Kelsie turned and began walking towards the direction of the scream.

Zoe Derruci? The timid hacker from the hackathon?

Kelsie wasn’t one to involve herself in situations that wouldn’t benefit her, but for some reason, she found herself strutting towards Zoe’s direction.

The gangsters didn’t run after her.

Instead, they temporarily forgot about the man behind them and called out to the gang leader who was still standing by the car, "Hey, break her legs and drag her here. How dare her walk away from us?"

The words had just rolled off their tongue when the hairs on the back of their neck stand on its end in fright.

Glancing behind them, they saw Jett closing in on them and suddenly forgot how to move.

The closer he got to them, the weaker their knees got. By the time he he was standing beside them, their knees had weakened drastically, sending them to the ground.

Jett strutted past them without bothering to glance at them.

"He’s still breathing, but he’s bleeding all over the place. I just knew he was a lousy person."

"Roll him over, so his blood can clot up inside him."

Kelsie, Jett and the gang leader arrived at the scene to see about five gangsters hovering over two people.

Three of them stood with a familiar woman while the other two towered above an unconscious young man with blonde hair.

Kelsie’s eyes landed at the fearful eyes of the timid girl in their midst while Jett’s eyes landed on the blonde young man.

Instantly, the duos eyes narrowed coldly.

One look at Kelsie and the man realized she knew this timid girl.

As she stepped forward, he reached out to stop her.

Kelsie met his eyes, the reassurance in them, for some reason, made her stand still.

The usually stubborn woman pressed her lips into a thin line leaned on the wall behind her.

As Jett closed the distance between them, the gangsters realized they had visitors and turned their eyes to see who it was.

As soon as their eyes landed on Jett, their cheeks stretched into a wide grin.

"Fate seems to be on our side today. We first found a young man with a bag full of money, then this young woman with her expensive laptop and jewelries."

"Now him? Merely looking at him and I can tell the price of his suit will be enough to feed everyone in Darki."

"But where’s your suit jacket? It won’t sell as much if a piece of it is missing. Don’t tell me you hid it somewhere because you feared you’d encounter people who’d steal it? You can’t be that stingy, you know?"

Jett didn’t respond.

He first surveyed the place with his eyes before he bent slightly to pick up a few pebbles from the ground.

The gang leader amongst the five gangsters clenched his jaw into a thin line and sneered, "You’re not much of a talker, is that it? That is fine with us."

"Just drop whatever valuables you have with you. I know your ring and shoe are worth a lot. Don’t even get me started on that belt of yours."

"Also reach into your pocket and take out your wallet. Alobg with the things I just mentioned, slide over your wallet then you can ask whatever question you have." The person behind him leaned forward to chime in.

Jett slowly twirled the pebbles in-between his fingers as he chuckled, "You people in Darki are a whole lot different than other gangsters."

"Others bare their teeth and forcefully take whatever they want from someone. You, on the other hand, use fancy words to threaten and steal."

"I’m glad to know not all gangsters are uneducated. But in as much as I would love to continue this conversation with you, I’d need you to hand over those people with you. Will that be possible?"

The gang leader was first taken aback by his condescending gaze before he snorted in amusement, "This is new. Are you giving me a conditon? What are you all in the city eating to grow your audacity? Are the gangsters there becoming soft now?"

"Well, it’s a good thing you’re here today. I’ll use this chance to remind you what gangsters were like before those bunch of wussies in the city decided to sprout up."

As soon as he finished, the gangsters flagged him from every side.

A cold glint flashed past Jett’s eyes as he held one of the pebbles in-between his thumb and index finger.

It was at this moment, that a crowd of gangsters rushed into the alley and a baritone voice boomed out, "What is going on here?"
