Chapter 165 A Masseur

Chapter 165: Chapter 165 A Masseur

"What... what do you mean, Mr. Adler?" Kelsie was so startled she stuttered.

Jack exhaled lightly, eyes darting around when he realized she wasn’t elated at all. Not even a little.

Not that he expected such a reaction immediately, but anyone being asked to marry into the Adler family was bound to be elated.

In fact, they wouldn’t even want to know which one of his grandsons they were marrying before they said yes.

But with Kelsie, it actually looked like she didn’t care.

Thinking fast, he leaned forward, a little tense, but his voice remained firm as he tried to convince her, "Dr. Sutton, what I’m trying to say is, my grandson is very... how shoud I put it?"

"Yes, taciturn and cold! He’s so taciturn and cold that it makes me sad knowing not a lot of women will want to be with a man like that."

"As long as he has the last name Adler, I don’t think it’ll be hard to find a marriage partner for..." Kelsie was saying when the man hurriedly interrupted.

"No, not this grandson of mine. You see, he’s very obstinate and rarely listens to anything I say."

"But I’m sure you’ll like him. He’s tall, handsome and is very nice when you get to know him. Just go on a date with him and see for yourself."

Kelsie hesitated.

She was aware he had quite a lot of grandsons, but who was this grandson of his he was so concerned about?

It was no news Jett was his favorite, so it was unlikely he was the grandson in question.

There was no news racking her brain to know which one it was as the only grandson he knew was Jett.

With that, she began thinking of a polite way to turn him down.

After waiting for a response for several seconds and not getting any, Jack, who was looking away to hide the nervousness in his eyes, slowly turned towards her.

Seeing the hesitation on her face, he exhaled in relief, knowing he was getting through her.

The moment Kelsie parted her lips to say something, he gripped his chest, dramatically wincing in pain.

Kelsie instantly fell for it, hurriedly reaching out to hold him.

"Thank you. Thank you so much. You’re such a nice lady. Sigh."

She helped him lay down, gently tucking a pillow behind his head then straightened up once he was comfortably.

Frowning hard, she politely chided, "You should take it easy. Your children and grandchildren are adults which makes them perfectly able to take care of themselves."

"Worrying about them when you’re sick isn’t what you should be doing. If your stress levels aren’t stable, I’ll have to prescribe stronger pills."

Jack flashed her a weak smile.

"As you can see, this old man can drop dead any moment. I just want to know he’ll have someone looking after him when I’m gone."

Kelsie dipped her head in agreement.

"Of course he will. Whoever he is. And don’t you worry, I’ll try my best to make sure you live long enough to see that happen."

Although surprised she was still turning him down, a wide smile slowly etched across his face, even more convinced he wanted this woman to be his granddaughter-in-law.

"You don’t have to marry him immediately. Go out with him on a blind date and decide if you like him. If you don’t, i will no longer bother you."

Jack persuaded her for over than two minutes leaving her no choice than to accept.

The blind date was set for 7pm that evening.

By 5pm, Kelsie clocked out of work and wasn’t surprised to see Jett waiting outside.

A second alter, he noticed someone behind him and turned around.

"You’re out. I came to see my grandfather and decided to wait for you." He said out of of nowhere.

The realization that she was going out with another member of the Adler family made her sigh softly before she began walking to her car.

"Oh."

He insisted to take care her home and she handed over the keys without a word.

The ride was silent with her worriedly nibbling on her lower lip.

For the first time in forever, she was actually feeling guilty.

Guilty that she was meeting another man in a few hours while being driven home by him.

The next second, she gently tugged her ears.

What was she doing?

She was overthinking this. She already promised Jack she’d go to this date. All she had to do was show up, stay with him for a few minutes then find an excuse to leave.

Yes, that’s what she’d do.

She was still deep in though when Jett broke the silence.

"When was the last time you had a massage?"

"I planned to go to a masseuse next week."

"No need. I’m a man of many talents. One of the best masseurs you’ll ever meet. Although I hope you don’t have to meet them."

The words had just rolled off his tongue when when he felt Kelsie staring into his soul.

"What? I’m saving you money here."

"I don’t remember saying I want to save any."

"My hands are really soft. Moreover, we’ll be doing it in the comfort of your apartment or mine. If you don’t feel comfortable in either, I can rent an entire sauna this evening or wherever you find comfortable."

"Giving me a massage means I have to take off my clothes and tie a towel or bare my back to you. You’re better than going through corners, next time, just say so directly."

While Kelsie merely said that to tell him off, Jett kept it in mind.

Jett no longer said anything while Kelsie just looked outside the window until they got to the apartment building.

Given that she was about to meet someone from the Adler family and didn’t want to make it look like she was intentionally self-sabotaging, Kelsie wore one of the many dresses she had bought and never worn.

It was a sleeveless silk dress with thin straps. It hugged her body, stopping just above her knees.

Once it was 6pm, she drove to the hair salon. Then went across it to the make-up studio.

Thirty minutes later, another make-up artiste who hadn’t seen Kelsie walk in, came out of her studio and immediately had a nosebleed when she saw Kelsie.

Stuffing a tissue into her nose, she strutted towards Kelsie.

"You’re really beautiful, miss. Do you like men or women?"

"Hey, why would you ask her that?" Kelsie’s make-up artiste was quick to reprimand her.

"I don’t know, maybe because I’m afraid my sexual orientation changed?"

"Shut your mouth." Kelsie’s make-up artiste then turned to apologize to her; "Sorry about that, ma’am. My colleague can be naughty at times."

"It’s fine. But isn’t the makeup too much? I feel overdressed for something not very important." Kelsie smiled faintly, moving her face closer to the mirror.

The make-up artiste frowned slightly, staring at her intently from the mirror.

"What do you mean? I didn’t even do anything. You’re just naturally beautiful."

Kelsie chuckled softly and took out her credit card.

After paying, she checked the time to see it was 10 minutes to 7, then she got into her car and headed to the venue.

Upon reaching there, she saw he hadn’t arrived and waited for an entire hour before going home.

The next day, the entire building could hear Jack Adler angrily yelling at Jett as he walked through the reception with him.

"You punk, do you know what I went through to get you that date? How could you fumble her like that? I’ll never forgive you for this!"

"In fact, get out of my sight! Don’t come into my ward. I’ll have security break your legs and throw you out if I ever see you anywhere around me!"

Watching him storm off accompanied with two helpers, Jett sighed in exhaustion.

"Why’s he so cranky? I’m not the one who told him to set a blind date."

Ignoring the dozens of eyes on him, he strolled towards Kelsie’s office, leaning on the wall across it and unhurriedly tapping his foot against the floor as he waited for her.

After waiting for fifteen minutes, he straightened up to knock on her door when he heard the conversation of two passing doctors.

"I’m telling you the masseur is very tall and handsome. Just my type."

"Everyone’s your type."

"I’m not joking. He’s as handsome and tall as Jett Adler, but unlike Mr. Adler who’s hot and sexy, the masseur is cute. So cute he’s making my heart flutter just recalling what he looks like."

"How unfortunate we’re not surgeons. We’d be getting our body taken care of by such a good-looking men. The women in surgery are so fortunate. Especially the single ones."

"Talking of the women in surgery, I think i saw him flirting with Dr. Sutton. It’s as if she knew he was coming and went to the hairstylist."

"I thought of that. I doubt it was purely a coincident..."

Before they turned into a corner, a certain man’s face darkened as he headed in the direction they had just came from.
