Laura promptly put away her disbelief at Kelsie’s retort and laughed angrily.

When did this fool learn such a wide range of vocabulary?

What? When does she intend to change and become a decent human?

Recently, she had been taking it so lightly on her that she refused to know her place.

She calmly disengaged from Kelsie’s arm, lips curling up in disdain as she spat out in contempt, "You speak as though I was telling lies. Even our Sutton family can’t afford the floor you’re staying on."

"You live off the allowance father gives you, not so? And before you think of saying you pay your rent with the money Haven Medical Center pays you, remember that we know how much the doctors there earn."

"They may be the highest paying hospital in Silicone Valley, but they don’t pay that much for you to rent an apartment in Jett Adler’s apartment building!"

Another of the people with Laura immediately sat up to butt in.

"My best friend’s cousin has been a resident there for tbe past five years, so she’s acquainted with most of the doctors."

"One of the top doctors there has been saving up to move into the apartment building, and only managed to save two years’ worth of rent after five years. And that’s only because he got promoted."

Deborah chimed in with a short.

"Doctors make much, but not that much as newbies and from what we know, you only started there four months ago. So how is it you’re living in such an expensive place?"

Almost immediately, Laura shook her head slightly.

"Don’t go that far. She began living there ever since she returned to Silicone Valley. I refuse to believe that out of of the 9 apartment buildings in our city, she just had to choose the most luxurious where Jett Adler lives."

She paused, gently scratched the skin just below her left brow before raising it inquisitively, "Big sister, I really didn’t want to do this, but you said we were badmouthing you just now."

"How do you accomplish being hired at the ever strict Haven Medical Center and renting an apartment in Jett Adler’s apartment building if he isn’t benefiting from you? After all, you have nothing else of value that he could possibly want."

"I’ll let you pour wine, alcohol and literally anything you want on me if you can bring inadmissible proof that you didn’t get them because you’re sharing the same bed with Jett Adler."

Kelsie almost sneered while Deborah immediately chastised Laura.

"Pour wine and alcohol on you if she has proof? Must you go that far?"

She glanced at her and tutted, "There’s nothing to worry about, mother. She doesn’t have any proof that she did all those all by herself."

"If she doesn’t plan to be humiliated in front of this many people and forever lose her integrity in Silicone Valley, all she has to do is admit she’s his play thing."

"That is not so hard if you ask me. After all, one must learn to put aside their shame since they chose to do such a thing."

Deborah also paused to think, eyes moving towards the quiet Kelsie.

Indeed, there was no way Kelsie could’ve accomplished such a feat on her own.

Although Jerry often went on and on about how that dead woman was a good surgeon, there was no way Kelsie could’ve gotten such skills from her when she died so early.

Furthermore, Kelsie never showed promise for anything when she lived with them. She failed woefully at everything she tried her hands on.

What she didn’t know was that Kelsie only did that as she preferred resting and sleeping.

Given the type of person Jerry was, he would make her work twice as hard if he found out she had a knack for medicine.

Furthermore, she was often tired and didn’t have the strength to do anything else besides resting.

"You’re right. Your father lets her do whatever she wants, the least she could do with us is be truthful about things like this."

"Only when she’s truthful and owns up to it will our Sutton family’s reputation not be damaged once the public learns of it another way."

"And since it involves Jett Adler, I assure you they’ll find out about it sooner than later. Reporters chase after him like ants chase after sweet foods."

By the time she finished speaking, Kelsie had already pulled up the receipt from when she paid the rent for the apartment building and the employment email from Haven Medical Center.

While it was possible they could dismiss the employment email as being forged, she couldn’t think of an instance where they could do the same to the receipt.

"I didn’t want to go this far either, but since you asked for it and it’s not my thing to lie, this is the rent receipt from when I paid for the apartment building."

"I paid it a few weeks before coming down to Silicone Valley." She stopped talking to hand the phone over to someone cranining his neck to see the content of the screen, "Here, pass it around so everyone can get a good look."

He hurriedly nodded and snatched the phone, then gazed at the email for a long time from every angle before passing it around like she asked.

When it got to Laura, she tore her eyes away from it after a second and snickered irritably, pointing the phone at Kelsie.

"What do you take us for? Receipts like this can be forged and I’d expect nothing else from a hacker."

Deborah’s face also turned ugly.

"You know we can’t ask Jett Adler to confirm things like this, so you pull out a receipt you forged beforehand to fool us? You must really look down on our intellect!"

Kelsie sighed in exasperation, "Don’t be like that, mother. I’m looking down on your intellect? How is that possible when there’s no intellect to look down on?"

The new friend Deborah made didn’t know when she gasped.

"I used an international bank with branches all over the continent to make the payment, so if you’re all free tomorrow, how about we take a short trip to the bank?"
