Chapter 135: Chapter 135 Jesse Strikes

While the triplets had an entirely different idea of what was going on, Kelsie was struggling to drop to her feet.

"Drop me."

"Why? I’m not complaining that you’re heavy."

"Mr. Adler, don’t you think you’re..."

Kelsie was just about to whine when two girls walked past them and halted.

Immediately, she hid her face on Jett’s chest.

The reception was scanty as many residents were either still being held at work by the rain or snuggled underneath their duvets up in their apartments.

Hence, the discussion of the two girls echoed through the reception, reaching both Kelsie’s and Jett’s ears.

"What a romantic man. He’s carrying her so effortless. I can’t remember the last time I was carried that way."

"Your last relationship was three years ago. What did you expect?"

"Don’t be harsh. Sigh. I can’t see the woman’s face properly, but she has to be good-looking to be in the arms of such a handsome man."

"It’s inappropriate to oge someone else’s man. Girl, go get yours."

"You rude punk, you’re just being a joy killer."

Once Jett stepped into the elevator, Kelsie exhaled in relief and began wiggling again to get on her feet.

Left with no choice, the man dropped her on the floor, but leaned back on the elevator to stare at her.

"You’re lighter than I expected, Ms. Sutton. Or maybe I’m just strong enough to carry you in my arms without breaking a sweat?"

"You’re being strange towards me, Mr. Adler. Just continue being your usual narcissistic self, will you?" Kelsie huffed in slight annoyance, clenching her jaw tightly as she recalled he had carried her all the way here.

All her resistance was all for nothing.

Knowing this man, he wouldn’t fail to remind her of today whenever he felt like.

Sighing, she felt her forehead gently in embarrassment.

The man chuckled in response.

"If you still feel strange about me confessing my feelings, why don’t you consider eating out with me one of these days? Or would you prefer homemade meals?"

The elevator dinged and opened once they got to floor 49.

Crossing her arms across her chest, she turned to glare at him, "Don’t get ahead of yourself, mister."

Then she stepped out.

She had just gotten to her door when she noticed a silhouette beside the elevator and turned to see him leaning on the wall.

"Just making sure you get home safe, ignore me." He mummed, flashing her a giddy smile.

"I’m right in front of my door, what could possibly go wrong?"

"Haven’t you heard of people getting kidnapped in front of their house?"

"This is in front of my... forget it. You’re like a wall. There’s no getting through you."

Then she took out her keys to open the door, but paused again and glanced back at him recalling her discussion with Eric a week ago.

"I keep forgetting to tell you, the first-year who died in Darki the other day said something about a blue-eyed man."

"If I remember correctly, his exact words to me were ’it was the blue-eyed family’. I take it it makes sense to you."

Jett calmly nodded, his eyes neither hardening or softening.

"It does, but it’s nothing to worry about. Your strong and reliable boyfriend will take care of this just like he has been doing." free.webn\ove(l)(.)c(o)m

Kelsie faked a wretch as she covered her mouth with the side of her arm.

"What a cheesy and uncomfortable line. Not like you at all."

Then she pushed the door open and went in.

Behind her, Jett got a call from Eric as he went into the elevator.

"Sir, Craig Adler was here a week ago. Was it to see you?"

Jett’s eyes dimmed instantly.

"Is that so? You can go home now, Eric."

As he went up to his apartment, Kelsie went home to find her children covered in their duvets.

She walked into their room to kiss them good night before going to hers.

As soon as she was gone, the trio leapt up.

Zade and Keira grabbed their phones to message Daniel in the group chat while Jesse took up his laptop to continue where he stopped.

A minute later, an excited Daniel called them on video call.

"Keira, I saw this pink Lamborghini. Do you want it?"

He instantly switched on his camera to show her a pink Lamborghini.

Keira stared at it for a moment and nodded. "I do, but I can’t drive until I’m 18."

He turned the camera back to himself as he assured her, "Don’t you worry, I’ll get you a driver to drive you around whenever you want."

Then he paused snd looked away from the camera to beckon onto a salesperson, "How much is this? Never mind, just swipe my card."

As the salesperson did this, Zade spoke up.

"What about the person you promised to bring me? You said he had knowledge of every kind of herb there is."

Daniel hummed and found a place to sit.

"I was going to tell you that last week, but your mother caught me snooping around and almost had my head."

Zade observed Daniel intently for a moment before he exhaled in relief.

"You don’t have a bandage around your head and you’re not limping, so I guess nothing bad happened. So when do I meet him?"

Daniel grimaced slightly, scratching the back of his head.

"Well, you see, I didn’t exactly find him. He’s an elderly man in his 60s who believes his knowlege in herbs is priceless, so he refuses to teach just anyone."

"He has only had 19 students so far and is looking for his last. The good news is, he has been in Silicone Valley for the past one week."

"But the bad news is, one of his criteria for a student is for them to be in their teenager years upwards."

Zade smiled bitterly.

"In other words, I can’t meet him."

Seeing her brother’s countenance change to that of sadness, Keira chided from her bed.

"What are you talking about? Once he sees my brother, he’ll know age isn’t a barrier in picking a student."

"Where is this elderly man going to be at? My brother will be there to convince him he’s no less than those in their teenage years. Hmph!"

Once again, Daniel scratched the back of his head apologetically.

"No one knows. He could be anywhere in Silicone Valley. He knows once he reveals his location, wealthy family will begin seeking him out to take in their child."

"Do you know his name? Jesse could try to find him."

"I heard from a reliable source his name is Dustin Mercer."

Beside them, Jesse turned off his laptop and went to bed with a bright smile on his face.

The next morning, Jett woke up to a panicking Eric.

"Mr. Adler, there’s a big problem."
