Chapter 134: Chapter 134 Hole In The Parking Lot

"Mhm, took the words right out of my mouth. I wish you two get married soon so we can get more delicious pastries like this."

Holly suddenly paused, eyeing Kelsie’s scrub.

"What? Didn’t you have one surgery today? Why are you still in your scrubs?"

Kelsie sighed.

"The surgery should’ve ended three hours ago, but I found some rusted scissors and marker inside the patient’s stomach."

"Not only did they break into different pieces, the broken pieces had infected the tissues underneath it and caused internal bleeding everywhere."

Holly was horrified.

"Oh, that is awful. And to think the scan didn’t see anything like those inside her. Thank goodness you found it."

Kelsie hummed, "Yeah, that."

Feeling a piercing gaze on her back, she suddenly halted and turned around to see who it was from.

However, Amy dodged to the side almost immediately.

Unknown to her, Kelsie made her out just before she hid.

One of the interns followed her eyes and turned in confusion.

"What is it, Dr. Sutton? Did you forget something in the operating room?"

She shook her head in refusal and continued walking.

"No, it’s nothing. What did you say about pstries? Who brought it?"

Her question had just fallen when a familiar man suddenly came out of a corner with an ice-cream bag.

He peered into the bag and clicked his tongue, "I didn’t know what to get you, so I got you one of every flavors. Make your pick."

"I don’t like ice creams. I don’t like how they weaken my teeth."

"Really? I had a taste of this... mint ice-cream and it did taste nice. Why don’t you taste it too?"

A lump got stuck in her throat.

Mint ice-cream? He had a taste of it and liked it?

Goodness, so this is where her son’s weird likeness for the ice-cream came from?

She had just said that when she shook the thought of it of her head. How ridiculous. This person wasn’t her children’s father.

It was nothing, but a coincidence that he liked the same ice-cream as her first son.

Yes, that was very logical for the situation.

As she inwardly convinced herself of this, Holly and the two interns had begun crucifying Jett for his taste.

"You liked the mint ice-cream? Why would anyone like it? It tastes too much like toothpaste."

"Right? Just refrigerate some toothpaste if you’re craving mint flavored ice-cream."

"I agree. It’s a total waste of money to buy it and it totally ruins your tastebuds."

Jett huffed slightly, defending himself, "What are you all talking about? It’s the best out of everyone I tasted there."

Holly smacked her lips angrily, holding back her words.

In the end, she just snickered, "If you weren’t with Dr. Sutton, I would’ve flat-out called you tasteless man."

All three of them suddenly got a call from the emergency room and rushed off, leaving only the two people.

As soon as they left, Kelsie turned and began walking towards the reception downstairs.

"Are you going home already? Won’t you stop by your office to change out of your scrubs?" The man asked in confusion, promptly following after her.

"I don’t want to linger around you any longer than this." She said without stopping to look at him.

A sly smile crossed the man’s face as he followed her out.

Outside, Kelsie was taken aback by the state of the parking lot where she parked.

Not only was her car not there, the right parking lot was filled with at least ten construction workers.

More interested to know what was going on, she strutted to one of the construction workers to ask, "Excuse me, what is going on here?"

The man paused to reply her.

"Half of the parking lot suddenly collapsed, so the hospital called for it to be repaired."

Kelsie nodded in realization as her eyes fell on the ground which was half-way covered.

"So how long should this take? Less than an hour?"

The construction glanced at the cloudy sky and shook his head regretfully.

"It shouldn’t take more than an hour for us to finish, but it’d take at least three hours to dry completely. And given the cloudy sky, it would rain any moment from now."

"To be honest with you, you should take a taxi home instead of waiting to drive out with your car. But I assure you by tomorrow, the parking lot would be back to normal."

Kelsie hummed absentmindedly and thanked him. As she stood back, her eyes rested on the cars parked so closely to each other. fre eweb\(n)ovel(.)co(m)

She eye-searched for hers and found it on the second row with tens of cars right behind it.

It was at this moment that Jett chuckled proudly.

"I came in after this happened, so I parked my car at the other side of the hospital. Are you in a hurry to go home? Ride with me then."

Kelsie was indeed in a hurry to go home to her children and while she could take a taxi home like the construction worker suggested, it’d take her a few minutes to walk to the main road where she’d find a taxi.

If the rain caught up with her, it’d be even harder to get a taxi and she might end up staying the night at the hospital.

With that realization, she went with Jett.

By the time they got to the apartment building, it was raining heavily.

In their room upstairs, the triplets paced around worriedly.

"Try mommy’s number again." Zade glanced at his brother who was making the call.

Jesse nodded and did as told.

Even calling a second time, but it went unanswered just like the hundreds of calls he had given her earlier.

"She’s still not answering. Don’t you have the hospital’s number?"

"Hold on, I’ll search it up." Zade said, taking up his phone to do so when Keira, who was standing by the window, suddenly called out to them.

"Wait, isn’t that mommy?"

The boys instantly hurried to the window.

Because they were 49 floors up, they couldn’t really see the make of the car. Nor could they ascertain what make it could be by what it looked like.

Zade squinted his eyes at the man carrying the woman, whom he had no doubt was his mother.

"I can tell from a distance she’s being carried by daddy. What? How are they coming back together? Did we succeed?"

Beside them, Jesse calmly bit down on his lower lip and picked up his computer.

He already warned that shameless man not to go after his mommy. The nerves of him to walk in carrying her like she was his bride.

With that, he began hacking into the Adler Group’s database.
