Chapter 119: Chapter 119 The Shocking Part

The moment the security guards took a step forward to separate them, Serbian growled, "Take another step and I’ll reduce every one of you into a cripple!"

Lincoln couldn’t believe his ears and laughed angrily, his hands gripping Serbian’s on his collar.

"What do you think you’re doing? Have you lost your mind?"

The two men glared daggers at each other, but instantly separated when the sound of a metal stick hitting the tiles reached their ears.

A moment later, an elderly man in his early seventies stood at the stairs, his dark eyes pinned on them.

Despite his old age, the determination and resolution in his eyes were enough to tell people he wasn’t someone to be taken lightly.

Although born into a mediocre family, he single-handedly created what is now known as the Howard family and spent years building it into a family literally everyone respected and feared.

"What is going on between you two?" f r\eew,eb novel.c(o)(m)

Lincoln was the first to say something.

He turned to him and smiled softly, "It’s nothing, father. I talked to Serbian about something and he wasn’t having it. You know how stubborn he can be when he doesn’t want to do what is expected of him."

"It’s nothing you should worry about though. Even if he refuses to listen to me, I’ll find a way to make him."

Paul Howard no longer said anything about the matter as he proceeded to settle his eyes on his grandson.

"Our family has been invited to the party hosted by Haven Medical Center this evening."

"This will be your first function as the official heir of our Howard family, so make sure not to mess it up."

"Socialize and don’t frown whenever someone says something you don’t like. Except of course, it’s someone you have to put in his place. Throw your weight around if you have to."

After saying that, he paused, glanced at Lincoln and continued, "Your father already has a suit made with your measurement which was delivered this morning."

"The housekeeper will show you where it is and you can decide if you want it or wish to change it."

The last part of the sentence had just rolled off his grandfather’s tongue when Serbian hurriedly said, "Grandfather, I wish to change to another one."

Paul grimaced.

"Why? Do you think I didn’t get the measurement right? Even if you did, how would you know when you haven’t even seen it? Or are you just refusing it because it came from me?"

At this, elderly Mr. Howard frowned slightly.

"Serbian, do you still hold a grudge against your father? Haven’t I told you family should come first no matter what they’ve done to you?"

Serbian was silent for a moment before he spoke up in a calm voice, "It’s not about that, grandfather. My father’s fashion isn’t my kind of fashion."

"I’ve always chosen what I wear to events and functions. So there was no need for him to help me. I’d look for one fitting of the occasion myself."

The elderly man found sense in his words and nodded in understanding. "So that’s how it is. The function is in a few hours. You should quickly pay a visit to a clothing store."

"Yes, grandfather." Serbian hummed, then turned and briskly strolled out of the house.

He had just gotten to his car when the phone in his pocket began buzzing.

He took it out and glanced at the unknown number for several seconds. Then he silenced the call and got into the car.

As he drove to a clothing store, Kelsie was in an elevator going up to floor 49.

Sighing heavily, she gently massaged her aching forehead.

The next moment, she facepalmed herself, turning to gently slam her forehead against the elevator.

"What happened to staying away from Jett Adler and the entire Adler family? You stupid girl, what were you thinking letting him kiss you."

She sighed heavily again when the elevator door opened and strolled out.

She was deep in thought and didn’t see the person in front of her.

Bumping shoulders with them, she muttered a word of apology out of habit.

But the next second, she halted and swiftly grabbed the person by the sleeve.

After calling the triplets a million and one time, a heartbroken Daniel was on his way into the elevator when someone suddenly grabbed and pinned him firmly to the wall.

His heart almost jumped out of his chest seeing a fist speedily advancing towards his face.

"Sister-in-law, it’s me! It’s me!" He quickly cried out, raising both hands in surrender.

Hearing the familiar voice, Kelsie naturally halted and took a careful look at his face.

Upon recognizing him, she frowned slightly and released her grip on him.

"What? Sister-in-law? What nonsense are you spewing now?"

The man exhaled in relief and flashed her a relaxed smile.

"I never thought it’d be so good to see you, sister-in-law. I pressed the doorbell several times. When no one came to the door, I thought you must’ve moved out."

He paused and glanced at the door again, murmuring incoherently under his breath, "The rent is quite expensive, isn’t it?"

As he returned his attention to her, he gasped in fear and held his throbbing chest when he saw Kelsie’s face in his.

"Sister-in-law, may I ask what you’re doing?"

"You’re the uncle who has been coming over to my apartment. You even eat whenever you visit."

The man crossed his arms across his chest and nodded eagerly, "The children’s nanny makes really tasty food. It’s even better than those from five-star hotels."

"So why do you come to look for my children?"

"Wh-why?" The question caught him off-guard then he realized his stuttering only made him appear like he was hiding something and laughed curtly.

"I meant to say, didn’t I tell you the other day that I find your children adorable? Imagine my surprise when I found out they stayed in the same apartment building as me."

Kelsie stared into his face for some seconds before she straightened and pressed two fingers against her forehead.

"Needless to say, you’ve been stalking me. You even have a fetish of calling me sister-in-law."

"Forget it. I’m not in the mood to deal with you today. Get out before I call the apartment building’s security on you."

"Get out? I mean, yeah, I will." The man quickly nodded and walked towards the elevator, turned and walked back to her a moment later with the words, "Your children, when will they be back?"

Kelsie’s stern and unsmiling face sent him scampering into the elevator. But unlike five minutes ago, he was relieved.

Now that he knew Kelsie and the triplets were still around, his sour mood improved and he strutted into the house humming a happy tune, but halted when he saw Jett in the living room.

No, that wasn’t the shocking part.

The shocking part was him stretching a game pad towards Daniel with what seemed to be a smile.

"What is it? Why are you smiling like that? You’re scaring me."

Jett didn’t retort and merely patted the space beside him for Daniel to sit.

After he did, the man clasped his fingers together and asked calmly, "Daniel, didn’t you say you’re an expert with women?"
