Chapter 118: Chapter 118 My Gift To You Before We Start Courting
Kelsie momentarily froze as his hot breath fanned the nape of her neck, her heartbeat rapidly accelerating.
"You’ve said I’m into men all these whils, shouldn’t you be glad I’m proving my sexuality to you?" He spoke again, moving his lips closer to her neck.
This time, not only did her heart threaten to burst out of her chest, her ears reddened and both palms quickly grew sweaty.
A moment later, her tense muscles slowly relaxed feeling the pair of warm lips on her neck.
Jett gently moved his hand to her face, holding and caressing her cheeks gently as he trailed kisses from her neck to her jawline and to her cheeks.
But he suddenly paused, his blue eyes locking with hers as he tried to restrain himself.
However, that self-control only lasted for a second before he crashed his lips on hers.
Kelsie was too stunned to do anything and just let his tongue play with hers.
It was at this moment that someone coughed slightly behind them.
"Um, excuse me? Are you buying the car or not?"
Jett immediately reached into his pocket for his wallet and tossed it behind him without breaking contact with Kelsie.
The woman, on the other hand, quickly moved away from him, putting an end to their kiss.
At this, a deep sigh escaped the man’s lungs, turning to see who interrupted them in righteous indignation.
The salesperson had already opened the wallet and was rummaging through it for a bank card.
But the first thing he pulled out was an identity card which he mistook to be a bank card.
When he saw the name on it, his eyes shook rapidly in fear and he hurriedly lowered his eyes to the floor.
"M-Mr. Adler, forgive me. I didn’t know it was you."
Massaging the back of his neck in frustration, the man stared at him with dainty, impatient eyes.
"What are you apologizing for? You’re merely doing your job. Go ahead now and swipe the card."
The salesperson nodded and quickly ran to get the point of sales machine along with the papers for the car.
When he returned, the showroom’s manager was with him.
"Had I known you were coming, sir, I would’ve personally accompanied you as you looked through the showroom."
An uninterested Jett merely hummed in reply and took the papers from the salesperson. But instead of signing on them, he stretched them towards Kelsie.
"Ms. Sutton, this is my first gift to you before I officially ask you out."
The ears of the store manager and the salesperson instantly shot up.
The store manager hadn’t paid any attention to the woman with Jett as he assumed she was one of his many staffs.
Without thinking twice, he rushed to her side and pointed at the licence plate, saying politely, "Ms. Sutton, if there’s anything else you want done to the car to make it look better, all you have to do is name it."
The salesperson also stepped forward to chip in, "A better interior decoration can be done for the car and we can even make a whole new licence plate with your name on it."
Kelsie, however, was still trying to process everything.
Not only did Jett kiss her all over a sudden, he was now offering her a car?
What was that he just said?
As if reading her mind, the man inched closer to her and repeated with a small smile, "What? Do you think it’s too little a gift to ask you out with?"
"Fine. I’m wealthy enough to get you whatever you want. Name any car or anything you want and I’ll get it for you."
Kelsie was silent for a moment before she turned and began walking away without a word.
All three men were taken aback before Jett left the papers on the car and followed after her.
"What is it now? You aren’t moody because I asked you out, are you?"
She didn’t reply.
"You didn’t look upset when that punk from the Howard family professed his love for you the other day. So why are you upset when it’s my turn?"
"Am I that bad? Do you think I’m emotionless or incapable of feeling anything or loving anyone?"
Kelsie still didn’t respond.
Refusing to take her silence any longer, the man hurried to block her path, pinning her against a car in the parking lot.
"Why won’t you say anything? Is it because I kissed you? Did that irritate you so much?"
Kelsie drew her lips into a thin line and calmly pried his hand off her. Then taking a step backward, bowed to him slightly in apology.
"My apologies for saying you’re into men, Mr. Adler. I didn’t think it’d offend you so much. Since you’ve made a choice on the car you want, I fear I won’t be able to drive you back since I’m in a hurry."
"Do well to call your assistant to come pick you up. I’ll be leaving now. Have a good day."
She turned and continued strutting away as soon as she finished.
Behind her, Jett clenched his jaw tightly, his eyes dimming slightly
As this was going on, a certain group of people grew increasingly restless by the second.
"That brat isn’t still answering." Jerry Sutton gritted his teeth, dialing Kelsie’s number for the 100th time that day.
Laura thought for a moment and suggested, "Let’s just go to her apartment. If we cause trouble there, she will have no choice than to come out."
Deborah exhaled heavily, shaking her head in refusal.
"Didn’t you hear Jett Adler? He’ll be suing us for the one we just did. What do you think he’d do to us if we disturb the peace of his building again?"
Laura immediately went mum and helplessly bit down on her lower lip.
"Still, isn’t there someone who can help us? Someone strong enough to deal with thsy VIP patient and the Adler family lawyer."
The moment her words fell, Deborah narrowed her eyes at her in realization.
"Didn’t you say there were two people in that picture with Kelsie?"
Already knowing what she would suggest, Laura quickly shook her head in refusal.
"The second person is Serbian Howard. He’s worse than Jett Adler when it comes to dealing with people."
Deborah patted her by the shoulder as she reasoned, "And yet he dealt with your sister. He must be close with her or have something going on with her for them to have breakfast together."
"We should quickly take care of the lawsuit before the shareholders at Lumen Group hears of it and comes for your father’s position."
As they had this conversation, Serbian Howard walked into the Howard family residence to meet his father.
The middle-aged man was watching the news in the living room when he came in.
As soon as Serbian took his seat opposite him, he picked up his tablet, eyes still pinned on the screen in front of him and tossed it on the coffee table separating them.
"Explain that."
Serbian didn’t pick it up.
He merely leaned forward to take a peek of what was on the screen before leaning back again.
"What is there to explain?"
Lincoln Howard hissed, "Pick it up and swipe."
Serbian hesitated for a moment before he did as told.
There were about sixteen pictures. All of the breakfast he had with Kelsie and Jett yesterday’s morning.
He swiped through them more than once before he tossed it back on the table.
"I didn’t know you had people keeping their eyes on me, father."
"I don’t need to have people keeping their eyes on you to know what you’re up to." Lincoln scoffed, picking up the remote to turn off the television.
He turned his attention to Serbian and continued with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
"The man you’re there with, I recognize to be Jett Adler. You know more than anything our Howard family shouldn’t concern ourselves with someone from the Adler family, yet you did it."
"But I can excuse that. However, what I won’t and willl never excuse you is you frolicking with that woman."
Serbian stared him down, "What does what I do have anything to do with you?"
Crash!
Lincoln suddenly pushed down the tray beside him in agitation.
Pointing a trembling finger at his son, he hollered angrily, "What did you just say? Do you think your life belongs to you?"
"The life you have now belongs to no one else, but me! So I care about everything and anything you do with it!"
Serbian remained calm and collected as he got on his feet.
Slipping both hands into his pocket, he said coldly, "I have somwhere to be. If you called me here just to throw a tantrum, I’m afraid I have to excuse myself now."
His words had just falling when the sound of running footsteps filled the entire house as some of the Howard family’s security rushed in to block the door.
Lincoln Howard got on his feet as well and unhurriedly strolled to stand in front of his son.
Then he reached out to smoothen Serbian’s crumpled collar, pulling him closer to him by tugging his tie roughly.
"I’m not finished, so why get up when I still have plenty to say?"
Serbian lowered his empty eyes to meet his.
Patting him down, Lincoln continued, "I don’t care what you do with that woman. A good woman from a reputable and well respected family has been chosen for you already."
"If you want to propose to someone so badly, why don’t you buy another bouquet of flowers and do what you did yesterday?"
"The only difference between yesterday and when next you’ll do it is, you won’t be given a cold shoulder by a woman who’s already saddled down with three bastards."
A cold glint flashed past Serbian’s eyes and he was holding Lincoln by the collar the next moment.
