Chapter 31: The Dungeon Is Open, Guild Founding Token!

Quest: [Proof]

Quest Requirement: Obtain a Jade Serpent Orchid and hand it over to Han Yunmeng.

Quest Aid: Quest guidance map available.

Quest Reward: Recognition from Han Yunmeng.

The map indicated the location to be in the Misty Rain Canyon of the Dark Moon Forest, about 30 minutes from Jiang Chen’s current location and nearly an hour from the main city. Ordinary players would rarely venture this far, as it was an area for level 20 and above.

Jiang Chen had a faint feeling that this wasn’t just a simple herb-gathering quest. Secondary class quests were typically simple and rarely involved missions — something this unusual surely held hidden depths.

A gentle breeze blew, trees swayed softly, and Jiang Chen carried the Wind Spirit Longbow as he made his way along the forest trail.

With his current 4300 HP and 750 attack power, even areas designed for players above level 20 posed no threat to him.

Once the Lava King respawned, Jiang Chen would need to find a way to track down the Rock Giant. He was eager to find out what rank the fused Lava Titan would reach as a pet, and what kind of explosive synergy it would have with his [Hundredfold Rewards].

He also planned to open the golden treasure chest shown on the treasure map. Though the Wind Spirit Set was powerful, it would only serve him until level 20 due to his current level cap. Beyond that, it would gradually become inadequate.

This was Jiang Chen’s plan.

“Ding!”

Just then, a banner suddenly refreshed across the top of his field of vision, followed by the system’s announcement chime.

“System Announcement (Global): Due to the number of players reaching level 10 surpassing five billion, the special dungeon [Abyssal Sacrifice] has been officially triggered. All players above level 10 may enter. For detailed dungeon information, please check it yourself.”

“Ding!”

“Ding!”

The dungeon’s activation came rather suddenly.

Jiang Chen quickly opened the dungeon introduction panel.

[Abyssal Sacrifice]

Difficulty: Normal

Required Level: Lv10

Clear Requirements: Player level must be Lv10; can be done in teams, up to 5 players.

Clear Rewards: EXP, Bronze Chest, Gold coins.

First Clear Reward: Global Announcement, Guild Founding Token.

Description: The northern abyss seems to be stirring again. The Human Empire has used major resources to open a segment of the abyssal path and discovered a mysterious sacrificial ritual being conducted inside. All adventurers are requested to investigate the truth.

Guild Founding Token?!

All of Jiang Chen’s attention immediately locked onto that item.

This was merely a low-level dungeon for Lv10 players and only of normal difficulty, yet the rewards were shockingly generous. Even the Bronze Chest alone was a reward no player should miss at this stage.

As for the first clear reward, it was enough to drive the whole world mad. A global announcement would symbolize the strength of a particular national server — a declaration of supremacy in the current phase.

This would very likely draw in organized national guild forces.

Of course, the real treasure among the first clear rewards was the Guild Founding Token!

The Guild Founding Token was something that every major guild and even national units would fight tooth and nail to obtain.

The benefits from being the first to found a guild were immense: exclusive guild buffs, bonus attack power, increased drop rates, additional experience gain — each one allowing guild players to far outpace regular players.

Opening the forums revealed that all the major guilds had already posted their declarations, vowing to claim the first clear. Guilds like Hero’s Tomb, Red Veil Guild, Chaoge Guild, First Temple, Canglan Guild, and others were already gearing up.

“Chinese Dragon Soul Guild?”

Jiang Chen paused at this name in thought. The guild leader was Huaxia Junhun, ranked fourth on the Heaven Leaderboard. It appeared to be an organization representing the Chinese faction.

But this wasn’t something for him to worry about. Let them do what they will — as long as he became stronger, and lived well, that was enough.

Jiang Chen refocused.

Though this was only a Lv10 dungeon, it definitely wouldn’t be easy — especially given the high trigger requirements.

Therefore, Jiang Chen wasn’t too concerned about missing the first clear. Besides, returning to the city now wouldn’t be fast enough. Those elite guild members had probably already rushed in the moment the dungeon opened. If it was that easy, the global announcement might already be popping up now.

Thirty minutes later, Jiang Chen looked up. Not far ahead was the entrance to Misty Rain Canyon.

Just as he was about to enter, voices came from the woods to the right.

“Xue Ying, are you sure it’s a Silver-grade boss?”

People?!

Jiang Chen didn’t rush out. He quickly flattened himself against a tree trunk to hide.

The next moment, a group emerged from the right-side forest — nearly fifty people, all Lv13 elites.

At the head was a familiar figure wielding a massive broadsword glowing with a silvery aura, clad in equally radiant armor — it was Jiang Chen’s old customer, Zhou Wang of Chaoge guild.

No wonder Jiang Chen had found the equipment familiar at a glance — they were all Silver-tier gear he had sold to Chaoge’s General.

Nearby were stealthed assassins — Jiang Chen even spotted a few players emerging from stealth not far away.

Assassins had now learned the Stealth skill, becoming the natural enemies of archers and mages.

Even for Jiang Chen, there wasn’t a great solution to this kind of situation.

Best to avoid direct confrontation.

Though his equipment was top-notch and most assassins couldn’t threaten him, the danger lay in sheer numbers. If dozens of assassins surrounded him, he could be killed in an instant.

Chaoge’s Xue Ying nodded.

“I’m sure. I overheard someone discussing this spot in the wild earlier, so I came to scout it out. There’s definitely a Silver-grade BOSS inside, but it’s high-level, and I couldn’t see its stats.”

“No need to worry. This area is for Lv20-25 players. Even if it’s a BOSS, it can’t be above level 30. With our fifty elite members and Liuli Zhan here, it’s a guaranteed win.” Zhou Wang said confidently.

Upon hearing that, Jiang Chen finally spotted Liuli Zhan among them. His equipment was no worse than Zhou Wang’s, and he was holding a rare shield — a tank.

He was currently ranked third on the Heaven Leaderboard. No surprise he had such high-tier gear.

“In theory, there should be no issues,” added Chaoge’s General, “but with only four priests, we’ll have to be careful.”

“Four is enough. I’ll tank the BOSS. You guys focus on DPS,” said Liuli Zhan dismissively.

Hearing a top-tier expert speak so assuredly, the team’s morale visibly lifted.

The group slowly advanced. Though the monsters in the canyon were all powerful elite mobs, they couldn’t stop the march of Chaoge’s elite army.

“Everyone stay alert. We’re nearing the BOSS’s domain,” Xue Ying shouted, and everyone tensed up, forming a formation.

At the front was the Lv14 Shield Knight, Liuli Zhan, followed by a few Shield Warriors guarding the four priest girls, and then the rest of the Chaoge members.

Just then, from deep within the canyon came the piercing cry of a raptor that could shatter gold and stone.

“KRAAA—!”

The next moment, an invisible shockwave surged outward, freezing everyone in place. Some cloth-armor classes even began bleeding profusely.
