Chapter 29: Big Idea

Adam looked at the students. They were all looking at each other. They were whispering and murmuring amongst themselves. The initial shock of his outburst had worn off. Now they were just confused.

He felt a wave of intense frustration wash over him. He stood in the middle of the volleyball court. He felt completely out of place.

He thought to himself I don’t understand why I chose this school. Why did I agree to this? He really wanted to leave this place.

He wanted to walk away from this whole absurd situation. He wanted to go back to his quiet apartment and his simple life of making money.

He let out a deep sigh. The sound was loud in the quiet tension of the court. He spoke to the class again. His voice was flat and devoid of emotion.

"Okay," he said. "All of you do your own work. You don’t need to bother me. I won’t bother you." He looked around at their faces. He saw a mix of defiance and curiosity. "And if anyone tries to act oversmart," he added his voice dropping to a low warning tone. "I also know many ways to deal with them."

The students just looked at each other. They did not know what to make of this strange new teacher. He was not like any other teacher they had ever had. He was not kind. He was not strict. He was just... different.

Adam thought to himself I’m only doing all this for Sophia. The thought was the only thing that kept him from walking away right now.

He turned around. "Do whatever you want," he said to the class over his shoulder. "I won’t bother you." After hearing this the children slowly started to relax.

Some of them picked up volleyballs and started a game. Others went to the sidelines and just sat and talked. They were happy to be left alone.

Adam went back to his office and sat down. The small room felt like a sanctuary. He was away from the noise and chaos of the court. He was away from the prying eyes of the students.

Adam was sitting in his small office. He was looking at his stocks on the One-Click Billionaire app. A new idea started to form in his mind. He was constantly making money. With every tap on his screen his wealth grew.

He realized a fundamental truth about the world. Everything in this world runs on money.

This app this power it was a kind of gift from God. It was a tool. He thought to himself Why shouldn’t I use it to do all the things I want to do? Why shouldn’t I use it to control everything in this world?

Adam’s mind started racing. He was thinking of new things new possibilities. He thought about the people who controlled the world. The politicians the CEOs the people with influence.

He realized that they were not the ones with true power. The people who truly control the world are the ones who have money. In this world money is power.

A smile appeared on Adam’s face. It was a cold calculating smile. He thought that if he started showing everyone how much money he had if he started flaunting his wealth it would attract a lot of unwanted attention.

Many people would become his enemies. He did not want that. In this world people try to stop anyone who is rising too fast.

They try to pull them down. Adam had a cheat code a magical app. But he was not immortal. His life could be taken.

So he made a decision. He would stay in the shadows. He would control everything from behind the scenes. He knew that if he did not want to come out into the open he would have to build his empire secretly.

He would be the puppet master pulling the strings. No one would know his name. No one would know his face. But everyone would feel his influence.

They would feel his power. He would be a ghost a legend. A shadow king. The thought excited him. It was a grand plan. A dangerous plan.

But it was a plan that suited him perfectly. He was tired of being a victim. He was tired of being helpless. Now he would be the one in control. He would be the one who made the rules.

After a few rings the manager picked up the phone. Before Adam could even say a word the manager started talking. His voice was full of frustration.
