Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Accompanying the Crown Prince in His Studies Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Accompanying the Crown Prince in His Studies Yang Feiliu was in the center of the dance floor, blowing kisses to the crowd now and then, setting the place alight.

Qin Jingchen’s expression remained neutral, finding a spot next to Jiang Zhe, he settled down comfortably.

Jiang Zhe’s eyes were slightly downcast, sipping mineral water from her cup.

Qin Jingchen broke the silence, “Do you like coming here?”

Jiang Zhe put down her cup, “Accompanying the crown prince in his studies.”

Her remark brought a smile to the man’s face, and upon hearing his light laughter, Jiang Zhe asked him, “What will you drink?”

“The same as you.”

She poured mineral water for Qin Jingchen, evoking a lighter shade in his eyes and a deeper smile on his lips.

Fen Ye, standing behind Qin Jingchen, looked over at Yang Feiliu and whistled in amusement, remarking on how wildly she was playing.

Yang Feiliu was having the time of her life dancing when her gaze met with theirs, noticing two men by Jiang Zhe’s side.

The seated one had a calm temperament, like gentle water, his serene presence overshadowed his striking and vivid features but, by instinct, she knew he was not one to be trifled with.

Even though he had the sort of looks and build that outshone every other man in the venue, Yang Feiliu assessed her own strength and decided to give up on him.

However, the one standing behind him was quite a looker too.

Yang Feiliu abandoned the man by her side and swayed over, coming to a stop in front of Fen Ye. Resting a hand on his shoulder, she teased, “Handsome, care for a drink together?”

Even Fen Ye, who was worldly and well-traveled, couldn’t help but twitch at that.

Nevertheless, being someone Jiang Zhe considered a friend wasn’t common, and he could tell this woman had her significance.

Sure enough, before he finished his thought, he heard Qin Jingchen speak up.

“Let’s go out for drinks, my treat,” said Qin Jingchen as he stood up.

Fen Ye promptly arranged for a dining spot, intending to invite Jiang Zhe and her friends for drinks and a meal, as it was surely not ideal to continue in the noisy bar.

Jiang Zhe also stood up, and suddenly realizing something, Yang Feiliu quickly moved in front of her: “Yo, is this the so-called fiancé descended from heaven you mentioned?”

“Mhm,” Jiang Zhe nodded, “Qin Jingchen, Fen Ye, meet Yang Feiliu.”

The introduction was simple and straightforward, without any superfluous words.

But Yang Feiliu immediately figured it out: Qin Jingchen, Jiang Zhe’s fiancé, not to be messed with.

Fen Ye, remarkably handsome, fair game.

Having booked the place, Fen Ye whispered to Qin Jingchen, “The clue about the wine bottle is gone.”

Qin Jingchen’s eyes deepened slightly, somewhat surprised; could it be that the wine bottle, so brazenly displayed at the bar, had indeed left no trace behind at all?

Was it a deliberate ploy to whet his appetite?

Provocation?

Fen Ye was also at a loss; there couldn’t possibly be no clues at all.

Yet, right under their noses, the trail had gone cold.

He had been watching the whole time without distraction.

“Are we going outside for drinks? Then let’s get going!” Yang Feiliu couldn’t resist the idea of drinking and immediately urged them to leave.

The place Fen Ye had chosen was close by, in a hotel just next door.

The restaurant on the top floor had private rooms.

After the four entered the room, a range of alcoholic beverages was brought over, displayed on a rack for them to choose from.

Yang Feiliu immediately set her eyes on a few good bottles, and as she picked one, she asked, “Can I choose anything?”

“Anything,” Qin Jingchen nodded affirmatively.

She picked two with a low alcohol content, and as she was about to place them in front of Jiang Zhe, she saw Qin Jingchen select milk and put it in front of Jiang Zhe instead.

Remembering Jiang Zhe’s age, Yang Feiliu didn’t insist further and turned to pick two bottles of fine wine that were not commonly found on the market.

Jiang Zhe held his milk, sipping it in small mouthfuls.

After Yang Feiliu had chosen the wine, she started chatting, “If I’m not mistaken, Mr. Qin is the Qin Ye from Beijing, right?”

“Yes,” Qin Jingchen nodded.

“Good, then I’ll dedicate my first drink to you.”

Fen Ye felt that she talked too much and acted too uninhibited, “Jingchen doesn’t drink.”

“Not drinking at all is too boring, don’t you think? I was just saying, it’s not easy to find someone to take care of Xiaozhe, so I must toast to you for that. Please take good care of Xiaozhe in Jincheng.”

Qin Jingchen picked up the wine glass, “Occasionally, a little is acceptable.”

Yang Feiliu immediately poured him a glass, “Come, this one’s to you!”

Fen Ye, with no alternative, reluctantly poured one for himself as well.

Only Jiang Zhe’s cup was filled with milk.

As Qin Jingchen picked up his glass, Jiang Zhe looked towards Yang Feiliu, who hadn’t been informed that the marriage arrangement might not even be valid yet?

The outcome wouldn’t be clear until a year later.

Yang Feiliu caught her drift and whispered with a hushed voice, “Isn’t it still a year away? Let me enjoy some drinks this year. Aside from the Night Alliance, maybe only the Qin Family will have decent wine.”

Jiang Zhe: “…”

So, I’m just a tool for you to exchange for drinks?

Yang Feiliu, having downed several glasses quickly, was getting tipsy, “This one, Qin Jingchen, I’ll drink to you again.”

Qin Jingchen lifted his glass again.

“To you… Xiaozhe is one of my few friends. If you dare mistreat her, I definitely won’t let you off! I’m putting my words right here; the number of people who have gotten the chance with her is very few. Since she’s willing to give you a shot with this marriage arrangement, you better not let her down! Unless she falls for someone else first, otherwise…”

Yang Feiliu was somewhat drunk and her words were a bit unreasonable.

But her words were sincere, uttered with utmost gravity, one by one.

Gone was her fiery sensuality from the dance floor; she was now utterly formal.

Jiang Zhe, who had been casually drinking his milk, stretched out a hand to pull her to sit down when he heard this, “Feiliu, sit down first.”

“Wait till I finish talking. I’m not drunk. If he dares… I will…” Yang Feiliu gestured with her hands.

Fen Ye felt she was dancing on Qin Jingchen’s minefield, wondering how much longer Jingchen could tolerate her.

“I dare not,” Qin Jingchen lifted his glass.

There was sincerity in his eyes, and his words were neither playful nor indulgent.

Fen Ye was once again stunned— Jingchen actually went along with this unruly woman’s demands?

Qin Jingchen’s demeanor was gentle and noble, and while he seemed approachable, he always carried an aristocratic aura that came from his background and the environment he grew up in.

A man as proud as him seemed like he would never softly tend for anyone, or bow his head for anyone.

His soft-spoken “I dare not” left Yang Feiliu momentarily stunned.

Jiang Zhe’s hand holding the milk paused briefly, his tongue accidentally hitting his teeth.

“Even if Jiang Zhe falls for someone else first, it would still be my fault. I’ll drink this one first.”

He tilted his head back, his Adam’s apple bobbed, and down went the entire glass of red wine.

Yang Feiliu flinched, then turned to Jiang Zhe and gave him a thumbs up, “This man’s alright, he’s a keeper.”

Jiang Zhe stayed silent, his eyelashes fluttering, ignoring them.

Yang Feiliu truly drank a bit too much tonight, and Fen Ye helped her get a room to rest.

Jiang Zhe assisted her into the room to rest.
