Obsessive Tycoon and His Swan Girl -
Chapter 88 - 88 88 Please finish your drink
Chapter 88: Chapter 88 Please finish your drink! Chapter 88: Chapter 88 Please finish your drink! After everyone had played a round, Fen Ye called the waiter over, “Bring another bottle of wine.”
After the waiter brought the wine and opened it, he poured some for everyone.
Fen Ye specifically poured a glass for Qin Jingchen, “Jingchen, would you like a taste?”
Qin Jingchen slightly lifted his chin, signaling him to put the glass down.
Fen Ye knew he almost never drank, and pouring him a glass each time was more of a formality, so he didn’t urge him, set the glass down, and poured for himself and the others.
He Zizhou picked it up and took a sip, his interest waning as he put it down, “Fen Ye, that’s not very generous of you. You said last time you had some good wine for us, and we’ve come all the way to Jincheng now. Why are we still drinking these common brands?”
“Don’t mention it. There was a problem with the last shipment, and the wine that came with it didn’t get delivered either,” Fen Ye recalled the last incident, still somewhat annoyed.
Some time had passed since the incident; not bringing it up was fine, but mentioning it made him feel suffocated.
“Damn! How shameless can they be, wanting the goods and even taking the wine? Who’s got the guts to do that?” He Zizhou cursed.
Fen Ye couldn’t figure it out either. The wine was just a bonus with the shipment, hardly anything significant, yet someone had fancied it enough to take every last bottle.
The traitor involved in the smuggling had already been dealt with, and the goods had been recovered, but the wine had disappeared without a trace.
For the Night Alliance, under the control of Qin Jingchen and the leadership of Fen Ye, this really was a Waterloo incident.
“I’m going to use the restroom,” Fen Ye put down his wine glass and walked out.
Qin Jingchen’s hands were used to fidgeting with something. Without the Buddha Beads to toy with, he wasn’t used to it yet, but his cell phone was spinning smoothly in his fingers.
The phone was always in sight, yet there were neither messages nor incoming calls.
It was as if the other party had gotten used to it; as long as he didn’t initiate contact, they rarely reached out.
Just like her own cool and detached persona.
He slightly lifted his eyelashes and saw Fen Ye hurrying back inside.
When he got to Qin Jingchen, Fen Ye leaned down and said, “Jingchen, I saw the distinctive bottles of our wine downstairs. I really didn’t expect to find those bottles after so much time.”
A few bottles of wine were no big deal.
But anyone who messed with the Night Alliance’s goods shouldn’t expect to get away with it.
Qin Jingchen’s eyebrows twitched slightly, and he caught the spinning phone in his palm, “Let’s check it out.”
With the lead present, it was a good opportunity to find the person involved.
The Night Alliance’s goods weren’t for the taking.
Jiang Zhe sat on the couch, noticing that Yang Feiliu’s target had shifted from one young man to another.
She watched the scene before her indifferently, her gaze cool and aloof, noncommittal.
The young man who had been flirted with before seemed to linger with affection, yet he appeared unwilling to disrupt Yang Feiliu and contentedly waited on the side, watching Yang Feiliu energetically engage with the other young man.
Jiang Zhe was accustomed to this scene. She knew Yang Feiliu’s knack for leading handsome young men on, making them utterly taken yet quick to be forgotten by her, the kind that could be a case study in a textbook, a chic woman among women.
Jiang Zhe continued to sip the small amount of red wine left in her glass, finally finishing the half-glass.
She poured some mineral water into the glass and drank most of it, trying to mitigate the discomfort from the alcohol.
“Hey, beauty~”
A man in a suit and leather shoes walked over with a glass of red wine, “May I buy you a drink?”
Jiang Zhe and Yang Feiliu had been there for quite a while, and Yang Feiliu had already flirted with everyone in the place, with many people even waiting eagerly to be flirted with.
On Jiang Zhe’s side, although there were always people looking over, her imposing aura had subdued them, so no one dared to approach her proactively.
The man had been observing for a long time, and seeing Jiang Zhe was always alone, he ultimately couldn’t resist. He asked for an extra glass of red wine and came over to try his luck.
Jiang Zhe casually put down her glass and said with the same casual tone, “No, you may not.”
Throughout the exchange, she hadn’t looked at the man once, but this casual tone, coming from her enchanting yet innocent lips, didn’t sound like rejection. To the ears, it seemed almost coquettish.
The man’s heart itched with longing, even overlooking the overpowering aura of Jiang Zhe.
“Drinking alone is so boring; it’s much more interesting with two,” he said as he sat down next to Jiang Zhe, his gaze fixed on her, extending the glass, “Come on!”
Jiang Zhe narrowed her eyes impatiently. She had been to bars with Yang Feiliu more than once or twice, but no one had ever dared to come up and chat.
Her pretty fingers slowly curled into a fist.
The man, seeing that she wasn’t speaking, thought she had given her silent consent. He trembled with excitement as he tried to push the glass into her hand—such beauty as hers was rare to come by in his many visits to the bar.
Moreover, her school uniform attire pushed her seductive yet innocent charm to the extreme.
If not for her daunting aura, his behavior would have been far more reckless.
Jiang Zhe didn’t reach for the glass, but the hand offering it was suddenly caught in mid-air by someone.
Jiang Zhe’s fist, ready to strike, slowly relaxed at her side. Thankfully, someone had stopped him, or else she feared she wouldn’t be able to control her temper.
The man with the glass, high on his excitement, was very annoyed to be interrupted.
When he looked up, the man who had grabbed his wrist had a teardrop mole at the corner of his eye, an aura gentle as water, appearing especially amiable under the backlight.
“What are you doing?” he demanded.
“Do you like drinking that much?” Qin Jingchen asked, his eyes turning colder while his smiling face became even warmer, with a disarming charm difficult to come by.
This led the man to a misjudgment, “Drinking with a beauty, of course I like it!”
“Fen Ye, please give our friend here a drink,” Qin Jingchen released the man’s wrist and took the towel passed to him by someone at his side, wiping his hands leisurely.
The man, oblivious to the threat, was picked up and escorted to a corner.
Only when bottles of red wine were placed one by one in front of him did he suddenly remember the icy chill hidden deep in the eyes of the man with the tear mole.
But it was too late. He heard someone say, “Please finish them all!”
As bottle after bottle of red wine was opened in front of him, each new bottle adding a deeper shade of ashen to his face.
So much wine could kill a man!
Jiang Zhe heard the sound of bottle caps being opened rhythmically in her ears, but her eyelids didn’t flicker an extra time.
Jiang Zhe hadn’t expected to encounter Qin Jingchen there. She looked up, and as the man gazed down at her, their eyes met, and Jiang Zhe was still composed.
Qin Jingchen sat down beside her, “Are you here alone?”
“A friend,” Jiang Zhe lifted her chin and pointed in the direction of Yang Feiliu.
Yang Feiliu was dancing in the middle of the dance floor with a young man, her rhythmic movements drawing cheers from all over the room.
