Chapter 90: Chapter 90: I Will Only Take It Seriously if It Can Be Taken Seriously Chapter 90: Chapter 90: I Will Only Take It Seriously if It Can Be Taken Seriously Qin Jingchen asked Fen Ye to take care of some business, while he himself followed Jiang Zhe, escorting Yang Feiliu to her room.

Jiang Zhe, supporting Yang Feiliu effortlessly, encountered no resistance and directly brought her into the room, setting her down on the bed.

She helplessly rubbed the corner of her eye; if not for the many years of collaboration with Yang Feiliu making their way in the international arena, she sometimes doubted whether Yang Feiliu could be easily deceived by others.

“Alright, I’ll sleep with her tonight,” Jiang Zhe said to Qin Jingchen.

He, wanting to avoid any impropriety, had been standing at the doorway the whole time without entering.

“Okay.” Perhaps because of the alcohol, his voice had a slight hoarseness, the low tone exceptionally pleasant to the ear.

“Goodnight,” Jiang Zhe closed the door without hesitation.

Qin Jingchen stretched out a hand to stop the door, and Jiang Zhe didn’t manage to close it.

He looked at the girl, his tone somewhat deep, “I think I’m a bit drunk, my forehead feels hot.”

Jiang Zhe raised her hand to touch his forehead, “It’s not.”

As she was about to withdraw her hand, it was not let go, being held by the man against his forehead; her cool fingertips, caught between the skin of his forehead and palm, began to heat up.

The last time he had held her hand like this was during the piano competition that night.

He lowered his gaze and leaned in.

The man’s pheromones were particularly strong, entwining around the tip of her nose.

The unfamiliar scent tinged with a hint of sandalwood mixed with the red wine was not repulsive.

Yet, it was somewhat dangerous, as if she could be tracked, hunted, and devoured at any moment.

Jiang Zhe’s lips were already close to his.

In the end, Qin Jingchen still restrained his impulse, took her hand away, holding it in his palm, his forehead pressed against hers, his voice hoarse, “It seems to be not hot indeed.”

After Fen Ye had taken care of the matters entrusted by Qin Jingchen, he came over just in time to see this scene.

Wow! He exclaimed to himself.

Then he immediately turned around to leave.

Jiang Zhe caught a glimpse of him from the corner of her eye, “Have Fen Ye take care of you.”

Fen Ye was choked up with speechlessness; he truly hadn’t meant to interrupt, could they pretend not to see him?

Qin Jingchen, realizing that Fen Ye had come over, released her hand, “Okay.”

Jiang Zhe closed the door and leaned against it for a moment.

Qin Jingchen still stood at the doorway, his lips involuntarily curving up.

Fen Ye walked up to him, “Brother Jingchen, that was quite the progress.”

Seeing Qin Jingchen silent, Fen Ye did not continue to tease and mentioned serious matters, “I also asked the people at the bar, and truly, the origin of that bottle of wine is unknown. The bottle itself can’t be found either. Could I have been mistaken?”

He began to doubt himself, even though he had clearly seen that wine bottle earlier.

But then even monitoring the surveillance footage turned up no clues.

“Perhaps,” Qin Jingchen rubbed his brow; he had even detected a hint of a familiar red wine scent on Jiang Zhe’s lips just now, like the kind mingled among the goods that had gone missing.

He seldom drank before, but tonight he had quite a bit, perhaps he smelled wrong.

If he could be mistaken, then Fen Ye, who had been drinking, seeing a wine bottle incorrectly was not strange at all.

Jiang Zhe woke up early in the morning and didn’t leave, worried that Yang Feiliu, drunk and unattended, might need help.

“Miss Jiang, this is the breakfast Mr. Qin from next door has ordered for you,” the waiter delivered the breakfast.

Qin Jingchen seemingly anticipated she wouldn’t go out for breakfast and had it specially delivered to her.

Jiang Zhe accepted it, eating while checking WeChat messages.

Lin Huaiyuan sent her a message telling her, “I’m returning to Beijing today. Heard you didn’t come back, next time I’ll treat you to a meal.”

“Okay,” Jiang Zhe replied with one word.

Then came Song Xingyu, “Xiaozhe, it’s my birthday today, I am inviting classmates to have a meal together, will you join us?”

“You’ll come, right?”

“If you really don’t have time, it’s ok, as long as it doesn’t hold you up.”

He sent three messages in a row.

Jiang Zhe replied: “I’ll come.”

Song Xingyu on the other end responded with several exclamation marks followed by: “Great!!!!!”

Jiang Zhe opened another chat. The message from the other person had been lying there for a while: “Xiaozhe, my single recording is in its final stage. When will you come over to listen?”

Jiang Zhe replied: “Tomorrow night.”

“I’ll arrange it right away! The final recording will be tomorrow night then!”

After Jiang Zhe finished replying to the messages, she finished her breakfast as well.

She helped Xiao Meng with the difficult questions from eight sets of test papers she had worked on and read two foreign language books before any movement came from Yang Feiliu’s bed.

“Awake?” Jiang Zhe put down her phone and picked up her own backpack.

After a night of drunkenness, Yang Feiliu woke up not with a hangover but feeling a hundred times more energetic.

“My skin seems to have gotten a bit better.” While looking in the mirror, she remarked, “That’s why I say those who don’t like to drink have no luck.”

Seeing her like this, Jiang Zhe knew all the world’s alcohol was as if made for her.

“How about we go for another round?” Yang Feiliu asked.

“Not going. You go by yourself.” Jiang Zhe declined.

“Okay then. I’ll ask you again later.”

She did a full turn, “This room is pretty expensive, right? Staying in this kind of suite for one night costs tens of thousands. It would be better to swap it for a bottle of wine.”

“Qin Jingchen paid for it.”

“Hmm, tens of thousands are just a drop in the bucket for him.”

Jiang Zhe said, “If you come back later and like it here, just stay.”

Yang Feiliu didn’t refuse, “Sure! After all, I know you’re not short on money. Also, can I order the red wine we had last night if I stay in this hotel?”

Seeing her suddenly elated mood, Jiang Zhe guessed what she would say next: “This guy is quite something, a real catch.”

Indeed, Yang Feiliu said exactly that.

For Yang Feiliu, whether a man was worth it or not came down to looks and whether he was willing to spend on a few bottles of red wine.

Jiang Zhe had asked Xiao Meng to request leave for her yesterday, but she still needed to go to school.

After splitting up with Yang Feiliu, she went straight downstairs.

Qin Jingchen’s car was parked outside. Once the alcohol had worn off, his voice regained its usual clear and moist quality, “I’ll take you back to school.”

“Okay,” Jiang Zhe nodded and got into his car.

Remembering the commotion Yang Feiliu made last night, Jiang Zhe said, “My friend likes to joke around, you don’t need to take some of the things she said to heart.”

“I only take seriously what is meant to be taken seriously,” Qin Jingchen responded with a slightly deep look in his eyes, his tone carrying profound meaning.

Jiang Zhe of course understood what he meant and didn’t dwell on it further.

The car stopped at the school gate, and she got out immediately.

Her wrist was caught by Qin Jingchen.

“Hmm?” Jiang Zhe thought he had something to say.

But Qin Jingchen let go of her hand without saying much more, allowing her to leave.

Jiang Zhe carried her backpack and headed straight back to the unnamed class.

“Xiaozhe is back!” When Xia Enci and Xiao Meng saw her, they started chirping away, reporting to her about Lin Huaiyuan leaving and Song Xingyu’s birthday matters.

Jiang Zhe listened while pulling out books from her backpack and placing them on the desk.

Xia Enci took out two sets of selected problems: “These are from your cousin, he said they are especially suitable for you.”
