Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Must Leave Him Immediately (Part 3)

Sophie Smith kept her head down and said nothing.

"President Land!" Julia Brown suddenly spoke up, but Sophie didn’t lift her head.

Julia knew that the relationship between Sophie Smith and Asher Land was probably not ordinary, so she sensibly withdrew, leaving just the two of them in the lounge.

"Are you free tonight? Let’s have dinner together."

"No."

"But I checked your schedule today, you don’t have any engagements this evening."

"I want to rest."

"Sophie, are you really determined to keep this cold war with me going?" He had already given her enough face, but she kept pushing his limits over and over again.

Sophie suddenly felt a wave of nausea in her stomach and hurriedly ran into the bathroom.

"Ugh..." Another bout of dry retching, it was as if she was trying to vomit out her entire stomach; the feeling was really unbearable.

She only slightly came back to her senses after an unknown period of time had passed.

Outside the door was Asher Land’s concerned voice.

"Are you okay?"

Sophie propped her hands on the sink and looked up at herself in the mirror. Her reflection appeared so pathetic, with a pale face and slightly puffy eyes.

Recently, her pregnancy symptoms had become obvious, and she often felt nauseous and wanted to vomit. She lightly caressed her belly, a painful smile appearing at the corners of her mouth.

This child cannot be kept, definitely not.

After a long time, she finally emerged from the bathroom.

"Are you okay?" As soon as Sophie came out, Asher Land supported her body with concern.

"I’m fine." Sophie pulled his hand away and walked out straight.

She needed a good moment of calm. Whenever she saw him now, it felt like her mind was filled with too many things, all of which made her feel suffocated.

For instance, the child in her belly, or what he had done to Eva Miller.

Sophie sat weakly in a chair, one hand covering her stomach, the other supporting her dizzy head.

"I’ll take you to the hospital."

"I said I’m fine!" Sophie forcefully pushed away Asher Land, who approached her, maintaining her distance from him.

"Sophie, are you still hating me?"

Asher Land shook his head in frustration. The reason she currently had this attitude towards him was entirely because she believed he had wronged her friend, but he genuinely couldn’t remember, nor did he believe he would do such a thing.

"I just want some peace and quiet, could you please stop bothering me? I know, maybe I don’t have the right to say this to you, but this is how I truly feel inside."

He was silent for a few seconds, looking down at her pale face.

"Alright, I’ll leave now." He completely conceded in front of her once again, "However, this matter isn’t over, and I will definitely find out the truth."

With that, he stormed out, slamming the door.

His anger was solely because of her rejection and mistrust of him.

...

Sophie vaguely put away her phone, the line of text on the screen deeply piercing her eyes.

She had already missed the best time for an abortion; if she insisted on going through with it, it might cost her the chance to become pregnant in the future.

She painfully held her head, tears flowing uncontrollably.

But in the end, she had no choice.

She absolutely couldn’t keep Asher Land’s child.

She clenched her fists tightly, as if using all her strength to finally make this difficult decision. She hesitated, took out her phone, and dialed a number.

"Senior Brother, can you help me with something?" she said in a choked voice.
