Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Must Leave Him Immediately (Part 2)

Leave? She wants to too, but will he let her go?

"Also, the child in your belly absolutely cannot stay."

What? How does he know she’s pregnant?

"Don’t be surprised, your every move is under my surveillance."

This is absurd; indeed, the Land brothers conduct themselves in exactly the same way, each so domineering, so arrogant, as if everyone must be under their control.

"Asher’s final woman could never be you. You’re a third-rate actress, a mere performer. How could you be worthy of him? Haha, don’t be delusional, dreaming of attaching yourself to the powerful."

Delusional? Attaching herself to the powerful?

She let out a cold laugh, shook her head indifferently.

"You’re right, I’m not worthy of him. I’ll leave him immediately." She stated word by word.

She stood up from the ground, walked around him, and moved forward without looking back.

Asher’s final woman could never be you. You’re a third-rate actress, a mere performer. How could you be worthy of him? Haha, don’t be delusional, dreaming of attaching yourself to the powerful.

Luke’s words echoed endlessly in her ears. His denigration successfully hurt her, and successfully convinced her that she must leave Asher immediately.

Immediately.

She wandered aimlessly with heavy steps; she now had nowhere to go, no home, how did she end up like this?

She sat alone on the roadside bench, the cold moonlight making her surroundings even more desolate.

For some unknown reason, she felt her body was so cold, so cold. She curled her body into a ball, yet couldn’t stop trembling.

A beam of headlights shone on her; she instinctively raised her hand to block her eyes.

Asher’s tall figure approached her step by step against the light.

"Sophie." He called her name gently. She couldn’t see his expression at the moment; she lowered her head, no longer looking at him.

"Today’s incident was an accident,..."

"Don’t say any more." Sophie stood up, red-eyed, looking up at him, "Isn’t this your style? You get whatever you want. But why Eva? Why?"

"I never intended for Eva to be my woman."

How should he say or do to make her believe him?

"I’ve long seen where I stand. How many women you have, I can’t manage. You don’t need to explain to me. What happened today, I can pretend to be oblivious."

"Sophie!" He hugged her tightly, refusing to let go despite her struggles.

"What if I say I care about how you feel?" He seemed somewhat frustrated, for the first time, yielding before her.

Care? She didn’t believe his supposed care; she didn’t believe.

"I beg you, please let me go, okay?" Her body couldn’t stop shaking, weakly collapsing in his embrace.

"Absolutely impossible."

She was already exhausted both physically and mentally; she had lost herself. She had no hope for the future, trapped in despair every day, thinking of how to escape him, yet she couldn’t get away.

She used all her strength to push him away, stepped back one step at a time, turned around, and finally disappeared into the night.

...

After this incident, Sophie and Asher remained in a cold war period. She stayed in hotels every day, never returning to the apartment. Every time Asher came to find her, she always responded coldly. Fortunately, Asher didn’t force her.

"Sophie, there’s a film poster shoot this afternoon." Julia came over, looking at the lost Sophie, "Sophie, I feel like you haven’t been in your best state lately."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes!" Julia nodded seriously, "Also, you haven’t been looking well lately, and your appetite is off."
