Chapter 102: Chapter 102 A Conspiracy (Part 1)

"Hey, do you remember once when you helped a friend of mine studying film and acting get a supporting female role?" she began trying to steer the conversation, since Eva Miller had asked her to do this, she definitely didn’t want to let her down.

Asher Land curved the corners of his lips. How could he forget? It was the first time she ever asked him for something, and it was a transaction using her body. How could he forget such a delightful experience?

"I remember."

"She’s very grateful to you, so she wants to invite you to dinner to express her thanks." She said it in such a formal way that even she herself felt like laughing after saying it.

"Why should I agree to her?" Every day, countless people wanted to socialize with him, including people of various power and influence. Why should he agree to meet with someone whose name he couldn’t even recall?

"If you’re not willing, then..."

"You give up so easily when asking someone for a favor?" he interrupted her, "You could try a little harder."

What use is persistence? Would he agree to her? Or did he just find it amusing to see her beg?

"If you don’t agree, then forget it. Don’t toy with me."

"I only asked you to give me a reason to say yes. I never said I wouldn’t agree."

"So will you agree or not?" Sophie Smith was almost dizzy from his wordplay.

"I agree."

Sophie Smith didn’t expect Asher Land to actually agree, and with that, she and Eva Miller had an answer.

"Then I’ll set the time and place and later text it to you. You have to remember to be on time, she’s my best friend, you can’t stand her up."

It was precisely because he knew she was her friend that he agreed; he naturally didn’t want to let her down.

She efficiently set up the hotel and time, sending it to both his and Eva Miller’s phones.

When Asher Land arrived at the hotel, a figure in a light blue long dress walked toward him.

"President Land, hello, I’m Eva Miller, Sophie Smith’s friend."

Asher Land nodded slightly, still as frosty as ever.

Eva Miller naturally didn’t dare to slight this intimidating figure. She led him to the private room, but dining with Asher Land still pressured her. Throughout the meal, Asher Land’s eyes never fell on her. It’s really a wonder how much effort Sophie Smith must have gone through to invite him, and she must remember to thank Sophie properly later.

"President Land, thank you so much. Let me toast you." Eva Miller raised her glass, and after a long moment, Asher Land finally picked up the glass on the table to clink with hers.

"President Land, I know Sophie isn’t very familiar with you, yet I always trouble her to ask you for favors. Please don’t blame her; blame me. It was all my idea, I’m sorry!"

"Not familiar?" Asher Land raised an eyebrow with interest. This woman claimed she wasn’t familiar with him?

"Uh, yes..." This was the first sentence Asher Land had spoken, and Eva Miller finally felt like she wasn’t performing a monologue, "Sophie told me directly, but she’s someone who values loyalty, so that’s why she helps me."

Asher Land nodded, realizing she wanted to completely dissociate from him?

This dinner was something he agreed to purely for Sophie Smith; he didn’t have much to say to Eva Miller. Eva Miller was naturally cheerful, and she kept talking, regardless of whether Asher Land was listening or not.

Outside the private room, Luke Land furrowed his brows. Recently, he had been keeping a close watch on both Asher Land and Sophie Smith. Who was this woman who suddenly appeared?

He thought it might be best to go along with it.
