Chapter 75: THE IDENTITY OF THE KILLER

"Hugo, calm down. What is happening?" Fredrick quickly went to Hugo’s aid even though he was confused about what was happening.

"P-Plant...B-Big... b-bite man.... I-In... F-forest...." Hugo stattered.

"What do you mean?" Fredrick’s forehead creased. He didn’t understand anything that Hugo was trying to say.

However, it was as if Hugo wasn’t hearing anything. He continued to scream and cry at the same time.

"Nooo, pleasee.... Not mee!" Hugo cried out loud. He placed his hand back on his head and cowered down.

Fredrick tried to touch Hugo’s shoulders in hopes of calming him down, but as his hand touched his skin, Hugo’s body started to shake violently.

"Shit," Fredrick took a step back in surprise.

’This won’t do,’ He tilted her head to the side.

Hugo looked like he wasn’t in the right mind.

Fredrick looked at the door and signaled for Julius to go get the doctor immediately. He stayed inside the room to ensure that Hugo wouldn’t do anything to himself.

"Please stay here," Julius looked at Terrence and Natalie before storming out of the room in a hurry.

Natalie looked worried as she glanced at Terrence. "Do you think he will be alright?"

Terrence shrugged his shoulders. "I don’t know." He answered honestly.

Terrence looked at the glass window and stared at Hugo. His words earlier... he didn’t hear any bell sound when he said those.

Terrence was in a state of confusion. He didn’t know if it was because there was silence between every word or if because Hugo was really just telling the truth.

’Is it possible for the bell to not sound under those circumstances?’

[No, Host. The Bell of Truth can judge the words even if it weren’t continuous. The Bell of Truth doesn’t only just judge the words being spoken but also the intention behind it.]

"..." Terrence’s breathing hitched after hearing the answer.

He wanted to curse out loud but that would shock Natalie who was beside him.

Terrence was confused. He didn’t even know how that was possible.

Plants that have teeth? Who would even believe such a thing?

Furthermore, based on Hugo’s words, he revealed that it was also what killed the man that they saw in the middle of the road.

’Shit. I can’t believe it.’ Terrence tilted his head to the side.

His brain was still processing the thoughts.

All of it sounds ridiculous for him.

"What was he saying earlier?" Natalie asked since she quite didn’t understand it.

"That there’s a plant with teeth. And that’s the one that killed the people." Terrence answered in a way that it could be easily understood.

"Huh?" Natalie quickly looked at Terrence. Her eyes widened. She thought that she heard it wrong.

"Can you say it again?"

"The killer of the man we found is a plant with teeth," Terrence repeated.

Natalie laughed. "That was a good joke," she uttered while laughing.

"Nope. I think he is the telling the truth." Terrence, with a serious look, uttered.

Natalie’s laugh dropped immediately.

"Wha—"

Natalie’s words were cut off when Julius opened the door all of a sudden. He was with a man, who was wearing a white blazer. He was carrying a silver suitcase in his hand.

"He is inside," Julius guided Rommel, the doctor who was stationed in their police station.

"Please guard the door."

Terrence and Natalie both became silent at Julius’ request. They stood up and walked towards the door of the other door room.

They watched Fredrick, Julius, and Rommel as they worked together to calm Hugo down and ensure that he was safe.

"Noooo! Don’t touch me! I don’t want to die!" Hugo hysterically moved his body as Rommel went near to him.

Fredrick and Julius had no choice but to pin Hugo down on the ground. However, Hugo’s strength was starting to increase due to an unexplainable reason they couldn’t understand.

In just a few seconds, Hugo was able to leave the tight grasp of Fredrick and Julius’s hands.

Fredrick looked at Terrence in a hurry. He knew that they couldn’t do this alone. If they let Hugo do whatever he wants, his safety and their safety will be put in trouble.

"Natalie, ring the telephone on the side of the table and request for backup in this room," Fredrick instructed which Natalie immediately followed.

Terrence helped Fredrick and Julius. He grabbed Hugo’s arms with force that was enough to keep him in place.

Julius rushed to get the handcuffs on his pants.

This was the only thing they could do until he calmed down.

"Fuckkk!! Let me gooo! They’re coming to get us! The plants have teeth! They evolved and will attack us! Ahhhhh!" Hugo repeatedly shouted as he fought back.

When they were successful in handcuffing Hugo, they put him back on the chair and let Rommel carefully examine him.

Rommel opened the silver box and calmly walked in front of Hugo. Fortunately, he calmed down but was now silent just like earlier.

"Leave us for a moment. I will just talk to the victim. Please turn off everything that is recording too." Rommel faced them.

Fredrick and Julius nodded. "Let’s go."

They turned off the camera and waited patiently outside.

"I think that man has started to go nuts. He’s starting to speak nonsense and unbelievable things." Julius tilted his head to the side.

Fredrick sighed before agreeing. "It seems like this case had made him think of that way."

"I don’t think so. I feel like he’s telling the truth." Terrence voiced his opinion.

The rest of the people shared looks with each other. They were adamant about it.

Even Natalie was doubtful of Terrence’s words but she remained silent.

Science cannot even explain what Hugo told a while ago, why would they even believe it?

"How about you give it a chance? Stay in the area for 3 days. If he is telling the truth, then we will see it there. If nothing happened, at least you guys tried." Terrence sighed. He knew that it wasn’t his place to decide.

"Alright. Since we won’t lose anything if we do your suggestion, then let’s do that." Fredrick slowly nodded his head.

He faced Terrence and Natalie and asked, "Do the two of you want to go?"
