Chapter 76: THE PLAN AFTER DINNER
Chapter 76: THE PLAN AFTER DINNER
Terrence looked at Natalie after hearing the question. He wanted her to decide on that matter since he would be fine with anything.
Terrence smiled and slowly nodded. "It’s up to you."
Natalie’s eyes widened slightly. She looked at the people around her and noticed their eyes were all on her.
"Uhmm..." Natalie was having a hard time answering the simple question.
"How will I say that to my Father, Uncle? I’m sure he won’t let me go." Natalie sighed.
Natalie knew that even if she wanted to, her father wouldn’t let her leave that quickly.
Fredrick smiled. "Don’t worry. I’ll tell her that you’ll be spending time with your mom. I’ll inform your mom about it, too, just to be sure." He answered as if it was not a problem at all.
Natalie’s hands fidgeted. She took a deep breath and slowly nodded. "Alright, then. We’ll go, Uncle." She smiled as she answered.
Terrence chuckled when Natalie looked at him to show her proud smile after she said her name. Terrence smiled back and secretly showed her a thumbs up.
"It’s final then. I’ll contact you two once we have the permission." Fredrick uttered. He looked at the time on his watch before glancing back.
"Are you two still going to stay here?" he asked them since the interrogation ended due to what happened.
Terrence glanced to the side. He looked at Rommel and Hugo, who were still inside. "Maybe we’ll leave after they’re done talking."
Fredrick nodded. He faced Julius and said, "You should go first. Inform them about what happened."
"Yes, Sir." Julius saluted before walking away.
When Julius opened the door, numerous police officers rushed inside. They formed a straight line in front of Fredrick and saluted.
"You’re too late. It’s done already." Fredrick took a deep breath. He was disappointed. He looked at the time on his watch.
"You’ll be having more intensive training because of this." He strictly commanded.
"Yes, Sir!" Even if the police officers wanted to disagree, they remained silent and answered in unison.
They also had no choice since Fredrick was their head. At the same time, it was their fault because they were late.
"Good. You are dismissed. You may go back outside."
"Yes, Sir!"
The police officers shouted again in unison before they turned to the side and walked outside.
"You two can sit for a moment. I’ll go inside to check on them." Fredrick pointed to the chairs that Terrence and Natalie used to sit on earlier.
"Let’s go, Natalie."
As they sat down, Natalie slowly leaned on Terrence’s shoulders. She placed her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.
"Are you okay?" Terrence worriedly asked as he saw the tired expression on Natalie’s face.
Natalie slowly nodded. "Yes, I am." She breathed out.
"I just want to lean on your shoulders for a moment."
Terrence chuckled. He looked to the side and saw that Fredrick was already inside the other room. He got the courage to grab Natalie’s hands.
"You have a pretty hand," Terrence said suddenly. His eyes were staring at Natalie’s hands. They were soft and smooth to the touch.
Natalie chuckled. "That was so sudden, but thank you."
A smile appeared on Natalie’s lips.
"Do you think we will be able to see what Hugo was saying? The plant with the teeth?" Natalie’s words were laced with curiosity.
Terrence defeatedly sighed. "I don’t know, too," he answered honestly.
Terrence did not know what they would find out in the area. He just hopes they will be safe from any danger in case something happens.
"Let’s just talk about our dinner later. This matter is giving me a headache." Natalie pouted.
Terrence chuckled. "I booked a table at a nice and fancy restaurant. The reservation is at 7 pm. Do you still want to go home to fix yourself first?"
Natalie’s eyes widened. She stood up straight, removing her head from Terrence’s shoulder. "You booked a restaurant?" her jaw fell to the ground.
Her eyes flew to the clothes that she was wearing. She was dressed too plainly. She thought that they would just eat regular dinner.
"I need to dress up then!" Natalie exclaimed. Her eyes squinted. She glared at Terrence. "You should have told me so I can dress up!" she complained with a pout on her face.
Of course, she would want to look presentable and good, especially since she and Terrence will eat in a nice restaurant.
"Don’t worry, after this, you can do that. It’s only 2 pm, so you still have much time." Terrence assured Natalie, but it was still not enough.
"You look beautiful, whatever you wear, Natalie."
Natalie tilted her head to the side. She could feel her cheeks burning from the compliment. "Okay, then." She softly answered.
The two of them were talking when Fredrick, Rommel and Hugo left the other side of the room.
"May I speak with you, Mr. Terrence?" Rommel called out Terrence’s name.
Terrence nodded even though he was shocked. He glanced at Natalie before standing up.
Fredrick then carefully held Hugo’s arms before stepping to the side.
"I’ll just put Hugo back in his cell. I’ll be back." Frederick excused himself before leaving the interrogation room.
When the three of them were all alone, Rommel cleared his throat.
"Mr. Terrence, have you noticed bite marks on Mr. Hugo’s upper arm and neck when the two of you fought?" Rommel asked straightforwardly.
Terrence tried to go back to the memory of their fight, but as far as he could remember, there was nothing on Hugo’s body at that time.
"There was nothing," Terrence answered.
Rommel’s forehead creased. He looked as if he was confused about something.
"Why, Doc?" Terrence asked, as he had already become curious about the reason for the question.
Rommel tilted his head to the side. "It’s because I noticed that there were a few bite marks on Hugo’s right neck and upper arms. They looked new and fresh." He answered.
"Huh? How is that possible?" Terrence’s brows formed a straight line.
He can’t be mistaken about what he saw back then. He could remember it clearly since Hugo got on top of him.
"That’s my question, too, Mr. Terrence. I asked the victim a while ago where he got it, but he wasn’t saying anything. He just told me that he was scared, and his end might be near, which I quite don’t understand." Rommel massaged the temple of his head.
"His end?" Terrence repeated the word.
"Yes. He was saying a thing about a plant that wanted to eat him." Rommel sighed. He tilted his head to the side and fixed how he was carrying the silver briefcase, which contained critical medical supplies.
"Anyways, I will get going now. Thank you for giving me time to answer my questions." Rommel slightly bowed down his head. He gave Natalie a quick glance and smiled as a greeting before he completely left the room.
It wasn’t a few seconds before Fredrick came back. Now, he looked calmer than earlier.
Just as Terrence was thinking about it, he realized how fast things escalated earlier. It was quite tiring.
Fredrick approached Terrence. He also signaled Natalie to come near them.
"We will process what Terrence suggested soon. However, I want you to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement about this matter. We are trying to limit the person who will know about the plan." Fredrick pulled out a folder with a paper inside.
He gave it both to Terrence and Natalie. "Take this home. I will let you read about the contents first before signing."
Terence and Natalie gladly accepted it.
"When do you need this, Uncle?" Natalie asked as she counted the pages. There were 10 in total.
"By tomorrow. We plan to do what Terrence suggested as soon as possible. We are targeting by this week, so it is important to process it immediately." Fredrick answered the question.
"Okay then," Natalie nodded and smiled.
"Terrence and I will come again tomorrow to drop this here." She added.
"Alright. Just leave me a message so I can wait for you two."
"Maybe it’s time for us to leave now, Natalie." Terrence disrupted as he looked at the time.
He knew that Natalie would want to dress up nicely for later.
"Oh, right!" Natalie quickly remembered. She quickly glanced at Fredrick and smiled.
"Uncle, we’ll be going now."
"Sure. Do you want me to accompany you outside?" Fredrick glanced at the door and opened it for them.
Natalie quickly shook her head. "No need, Uncle. I know that you’re busy. We can already manage."
"Alright, then." Fredrick waved his hands at Natalie and Terrence as they left the door.
Natalie snaked her hands around Terrence’s shoulder. The two of them were walking on the way out.
"Are we just going to have dinner later?" Natalie asked to see if Terrence had made any more plans so she could prepare.
"You’ll see." Terrence gave Natalie a mysterious smile.
The truth was, he booked a hotel room for the both of them after dinner.
