Chapter 72: IT’S GETTING SERIOUS
Chapter 72: IT’S GETTING SERIOUS
"Do we move this inside, Sir?"
"Yup. Just place it on the floor inside." Terrence instructed the two workers who came together with the truck.
Terrence stepped forward and opened the door widely. He opened both of the doors so that they could fit the furniture. They were carrying a table in their hands.
Terrence and Edwin helped unload the rest of the items from the back of the truck. They carried those that they could and left those they couldn’t.
Terrence was able to carry and lift heavy things because of his strength attributes. He was able to carry the big box of a disassembled cabinet.
Its weight was more than 60kg. It was hard for Terrence but doable.
It shocked Edwin, who was only carrying small boxes in his hands. They were mostly cupboard items and organizers.
"A-Are you sure you can carry that?" Edwin asked, out of worry.
Terrence could only nod as an answer. He couldn’t speak because the cabinet’s height was taller than him.
Terence started to walk slowly. He held onto the box firmly as it was wobbly.
When the two men who went inside first saw Terrence and the box that he was carrying, their eyes widened.
"What the fuck..."
"Did you see that?"
The two of them shared looks with each other. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing. If it were them, they would have a hard time carrying such weight even if they combined their strengths together.
"Do you think he’s taking steroids?"
"Dumbo, if that was the case, then he should be buffed with that strength. But look at his body. Even though it was better compared to us, it looked like it was real." The other guy answered.
The other guy nodded. They checked each other’s muscles.
The two of them just watched Terrence as he carried the whole thing inside. They were deeply amazed by his strength.
"Let’s not slack. Come on. We still need to carry a lot of things."
On the other hand, Terrence was successful in carrying the box inside. He took a deep breath as he slowly put it on the ground.
A sigh escaped from his lips as he stood up straight.
’Damn. Even I’m amazed by myself.’ Terrence exclaimed.
He grinned as he turned back and went outside once again to help.
It took them hours just to put everything inside the building. When Terrence was done, he was already tired.
He sat on the cold tiles of the building and stared at the ground for a couple of minutes, trying to catch his breath.
However, Edwin was basically dead beside him. He was lying on the ground, sweat running down his forehead.
"This is so tiring." He breathlessly uttered.
Terrence chuckled. He couldn’t help but agree, since it was also tiring for him.
"Oh, right. I brought the papers with me. It’s in my bag." Edwin pointed out his bag, which was located meters away from them.
Edwin brought the license and the permits to his grocery store. He thought that Terrence might want to see them.
They could process the change of ownership and location immediately.
"Oh," Terrence slowly nodded as he remembered that.
Edwin took a deep breath before standing up. He went to his bag and got the brown envelope containing all the papers.
He went back to Terrence and gave it to him.
"Here."
Terrence willingly accepted it. He looked at each paper. He already knew it, but he was still surprised by how much they were.
"Can you do this paperwork for me?" Terrence’s forehead creased. He found it too much of a hassle.
Edwin nodded. "Of course. They might be expensive, though, since there will be a lot of things to process. But I think I can finish all of this by next week."
Terrence nodded. Even though he does believe Edwin. He still wanted to make sure about it.
’Bell of Truth Activate.’
[Bell of Truth is activated.]
[Duration Left: 3:00:00 hours left.]
Terrence felt bad, but he would be more reassured doing this.
"Are you sure you can do this?" Terrence asked once again to confirm Edwin’s answer.
"Yup. No worries. Leave anything to me." Edwin nodded and smiled. "I won’t scam you. Don’t worry."
Terrence waited for the sound of the bell to see if Edwin was lying, but he heard nothing. He was relieved that he was telling the truth.
"How much will you need, then?" Terrence asked. He planned to give Edwin the money already so he could do it as soon as possible.
He was stuck with this mission for days already. He wanted to have a new one.
"Hmm... Maybe give me $1000. I forgot it, but it’s better to be safe. Then, if it’s too much, I’ll give you back the remaining." Edwin scratched the back of his head.
It feels weird that he was asking Terrence for money for it. But he had no choice since he didn’t have the funds to pay for it.
Terence tilted his head to the side.
"There’s no need for that." He answered with a smile on his face. He was glad that Edwin hadn’t lied about a single thing.
Just like what he had been doing in the past, Terrence put his hand in his pocket and thought of the money he needed from the system.
[$3000 had been subtracted from your balance.]
Terrence smiled at Edwin and gave him all the money.
"This is too much, Terrence!" Edwin quickly refused.
Terrence shook his head. "Just think of it as my first payment to you. The grocery store hasn’t been built yet, yet you’re working for me already." He replied.
He felt bad that Edwin had a task to do instead of being with his wife.
"This is really too much for that work, Terrence."
"Shhh," Edwin tried to refuse once again, but Terrence didn’t let him.
"Bu—"
"Let’s finish unboxing all of this now. I still have a date tomorrow." Terrence quickly stood up before Edwin could say another word again.
"With Natalie?" Edwin asked. A teasing smile suddenly appeared on his face.
"Yeah." Terrence slowly nodded as he saw how Edwin looked at him.
"Things are getting serious between the two of you." Edwin pointed it out.
"I know."
