Chapter 222: Chapter 143: Bloodbath

"Aooo..."

Under the night sky, wolf howls rose and fell intermittently, as packs of wolf monsters approached through the dense fog, their green glowing eyes chilling to the bone, encircling the area.

Outside the Wolf Palace, Qin Ming stood with blade in hand, surrounded by dangerous creatures on all sides, completely encircled with no chance of escape—especially since the strongest Black Roc watched from above in the sky.

"Who tipped you off?" Qin Ming asked, feeling intense emotions swirling within his chest, as the four old monsters had anticipated his arrival.

Had he been betrayed, or was there an unexpected turn in events? The old monsters had set up a trap in advance, waiting for him.

The four-meter-tall Silver Wolf King, with fur glittering like moonlight reflecting off its body, grasped a Wolf Fang Club in its paws, baring its snow-white teeth as it spoke in a menacing tone: "You’d be better off dying in confusion. Do you really think you can die a knowing ghost after slashing this king twice today? Dream on. I will see you die in utter frustration!"

The giant beast covered in crimson scales spoke, "Younger brother, you really let us down. Merely moments in, and you’re already severely injured. Had we been any later, our Wolf Palace might have lost its name."

"Fire Qilin elder brother, this youngster is very troublesome. Be careful when you deal with him later," cautioned the Silver Wolf King, with fresh blood still streaming from its neck and chest.

The giant beast had quite the extraordinary origin, flowing in its veins was a bit of the Fire Qilin’s True Blood, ranking second among the four old monsters.

Qin Ming frowned. Was he going to die here today? Even with his full effort, he couldn’t kill the Silver Wolf King, who was ranked fourth; the other three old demons were bound to be even stronger.

"Kid, it was you who killed one of my younger brothers a few days ago, wasn’t it?" Old Donkey spoke, sitting in a palanquin with a donkey face stretched taut in a grave expression.

The four creatures that carried the palanquin were bizarre in appearance—Pig Demon, Dog Demon, Lamb Demon, Rat Demon—a combination that looked anything but benevolent.

"I haven’t killed any donkeys!" Qin Ming responded, observing the terrain while analyzing the difference in strength between friend and foe, contemplating the best direction to break out.

"How dare you disrespect Master Lv?" the palanquin-carrying Dog Demon rebuked.

Descending from the palanquin, Old Donkey stood upright at nearly four meters tall, dressed in fine silks, and if one disregarded its pitch-black donkey face, it would resemble a well-to-do elder. It said in a cold voice, "That younger brother of mine was Master Huang."

With that, Old Donkey lunged forward, attacking directly!

"Be careful of his blade!" the Silver Wolf King shouted loudly.

Old Donkey was fierce. Its four-meter-tall frame was intimidating. Its fist techniques were astonishing, kicking up stones and creating gusts of wind amid rolling black fog as it charged forward erect, like a Great Demon passing through, with a formidable aura.

Qin Ming did not dare to be careless, remaining highly vigilant.

In an instant, his Mutton Fat Jade Iron Blade erupted with brilliant light, piercing the thick black fog, engaging in close combat with Old Donkey.

It had to be said, Old Donkey’s fist technique was formidable, creating sonic booms with its punches, specializing in smash punches from high above, repeatedly stomping down.

Each time, its hoof punches broke the sound barrier, alarmingly so, with both hooves shrouded in white mist.

Old Donkey’s robes rustled loudly with its rapid movements.

Its kicking technique was intimidating as well, with immense destructive power, from time to time lashing out with such force that the ground cracked open.

Old Donkey, a Master of Fist Technique, held mutual respect with Sword Master Weasel. With a left and right punch, it wished nothing more than to pulverize the young Human to pulp on the spot.

However, within moments, it hastily leaped back, not outmatched, for it had deep Daoist skills and terrifying Heavenly Light Force. It was Qin Ming who broke through its Demon Energy and the brilliance of its punches with the Mutton Fat Jade Iron Blade, trimming its hooves.

Looking down at its front hooves, Old Donkey found both were missing huge chunks, having had a dozen or so pieces shaved off in quick succession by the young Human’s blade, nearly leaving them bare.

Some Wolf Monsters wanted to laugh but held it in.

"Bring me my gauntlets!" Old Donkey commanded in a deep voice. As the creature in question, it was earnest and seemed as if it would never smile in its life.

The Dog Demon immediately stepped forward to fit Old Donkey with special gauntlets made of a metal alloy containing traces of Jade Iron.

The Fire Qilin spoke, "You’re too stubborn, Donkey. We’re here to kill, not to spar. Why are you having a one-on-one Battle with him?"

Old Donkey was reasonable, quickly replying, "Elder brother, you are right to correct me. Let us brothers join forces and finish him off as soon as possible. This Human youth is only in his teens, and with such strength without yet stepping into the Outer Saint Domain, he is a rare find in my lifetime."

Qin Ming’s expression was grave. Had the Donkey Demon worn metal gauntlets sooner, it could have fought evenly with him, and it was needless to say, both the Fire Qilin and Black Roc were mightier; he was likely no match for them.

Now, with the four old monsters attacking together, normally speaking, he truly had no way out.

In an instant, Qin Ming made his move, charging at the Silver Wolf King, who had already been seriously injured by his two previous slashes. In his hand, the gleaming long blade cast a chilling cold light.

In mid-air, a thunderous boom sounded as the Black Roc dove down with the force of thunder, emitting a blasting noise.

It was not immensely large, about ten meters long, but its presence was utterly intimidating.

The Black Roc, like a black burning sun, radiated an astonishing energy fluctuation, arriving in a flash like lightning. Its claws seemed to warp space, shattering the night fog.

Even armed with the Jade Iron Blade, Qin Ming did not confront it head-on but swiftly sidestepped to dodge.

The Black Roc was incredibly fast, surpassing all other beings present, and acutely agile. When its talons missed, its black wings swept sideways, continuing the attack.
