Chapter 52: Dungeons

"Well, my King. All the animals and beast that roamed the forest had been wiped out or they have been sucked into a dungeon.

That is the most accurate answer that I can give you regarding the disappearance of animals and monsters." Ottis replied honestly and Idah nodded to concur with what was said.

Wiped out? How was it possible that multiple monsters were wiped out clean or that were banished to dungeons. He did not know why or how.

"When did this happen and who did this." Tim followed up with another question. He had to get down to the bottom of the matter.

"My King. This is how this part of the world has been. Since about 700 years ago. All the wild animals and beasts were trapped in a dungeon. The only exception were aquatic animals, they seemed to have been spared." Idah replied.

This was news to Tim. The elf that Tim took over, had no memories of what they were saying. All he did was work and read about mana.

The original Tim never explored and it caused him not to know so many important information such as the one Idah and Ottis were telling Tim at the moment.

’This part of the world.’ Tim thought.

"Why is it only in this part of the world? what makes this part of the world special that it had all its animals and monsters sealed into different dungeons." Tim asked.

"It is common knowledge to we town people. The reason why it only happened in this part of the world is because, this our entire part of the world is the weakest and it has the lowest mana concentration.

Unlike the more powerful region of Fantasiaa, this region has scarce mana concentration. We can’t breakthrough to higher stages of magic as easy as it is to those in the better part of the world." Idah responded.

This was truly news to him. there were many other things that Tim did not know regarding the world that he was in, but he figured that he would just take things a step at a time.

Another thing bothered Tim. Weren’t his tribe, his people. The Elves feared? Why would his people be living in the weakest region of the Fantasiaa world if they were amongst the strongest specie?

After thinking for a while Tim dispelled that reasoning. Just as there existed multiple human kingdoms then there definitely would be multiple elven kingdoms.

His starting kingdom just happened to be in the weakest region of the world.

"Tell me about the dungeons, How do they operate?" Tim asked. At this point, he was in his learning mode and he was ready to assimilate any knowledge at a fast rate.

"Dungeons can be classified into different levels. Although people call the different level of dungeons different names. We common people decided to call it according to stages.

There is the beginner dungeon. The monsters in here are not that life threatening.

There is the 1 star dungeon. This is where you would witness powerful monsters. They might hunt in packs or they might just as well hunt solo. Whatever floats their boats.

To raid such a dungeon at least 4 - 1 Star Mages are required for survival. That amount gives the best assurance for safety.

The interesting thing about such dungeon is that the monsters we kill can be refined and used for other purposes. For example, the meat that you ate was from the belly of a monster.

The corpse of a monster can be used for many things. I even heard that the corpse of high ranking monsters can be used to create spells or enchanted items that have really powerful effect.

Then after that is the 2 Star Dungeon. Such dungeon requires at least 7 - 2 Star Mages or Sages to assure survival.

I have personally not been in a 2 Star Dungeon before, but I have heard stories. And I personally know people that have lost their lives in a dungeon as dangerous as that.

I heard that sometimes, in all those high-level dungeons there is a very slim chance of a spell book dropping after you slay the boss instead of its corpse." Idah answered.

Tim was surprised by the refreshing information that he had assimilated into his head. It was really something useful to him.

What even shocked him the most was the last statement that was made by Idah.

The fact that a boss monster or the most powerful monster in a dungeon drops a spell book instead of just its corpse signaled one thing to Tim. External interference.

Now Tim was sort of sure that the reason for the appearance of dungeons was because of external interference.

’ Maybe that 700 years ago was when they turned Fantasiaa into a seed world. There is no other explanation that I can think off. It has the same recipe. Champions like me having a system and dungeons dropping loot and equipment.

This is just a game created by someone that is extremely powerful to cure his boredom.

Am I just a game character to someone?’ Tim thought. The last part of his thoughts bothered him though, but there was nothing he could do now that would prove his theories.

He was still a 16 year old elf after all.

"Where do I find dungeons? I need to hunt in a dungeon." Tim asked. He had unintentionally re-motivated himself to get stronger.

The mere thought of himself being a game character in the world someone created riled him up.

His blood was pumping with action at this point.

"Dungeons are not that easy to find. But there are Dungeon Seekers, that help others find dungeons or you can just pay them to tell you the location of an uncleared dungeon." Ottis answered

"Dungeon Seekers *Tim muttered. * Take me to one immediately." Tim instructed.

If he could get into action and start levelling up now then it would not take much time for him to truly rise in power.
