Chapter 991: Chapter 359: I Will Not Bestow Evolution Upon You_2
"Galver was the Moonlight Knight before," Philomena murmured softly.
Barely any perceptive power, didn’t she see I was putting on a show!
Wayne had never had in-depth interactions with the High Priest of the Inverted World, a pure newbie, not yet broken in, with no tacit understanding whatsoever.
Even if he did break in, it’d be of no use; he and Philomena of the Outer World had grown feelings over time, and the adulterous pair’s connection couldn’t be built overnight—it would be difficult for them to achieve a tacit understanding in a short period.
Wayne curled his lip, forcibly maintaining his cool facade, "Oh, no wonder the name sounded familiar. It’s just some dust that could easily be brushed off, dirtied my sleeve, rings a bell."
Because of Philomena’s meddling, this act came across a bit stiff and wasn’t pulled off completely.
Saina remained composed, weighing the possibility of simultaneously confronting two God’s Chosen Knights. After pondering for a moment, she said, "Moonlight Knight, I’ve come for the Sun Knight, the Holy Maiden of the Dark Church. Are they your friends?"
"Uh, they are my women."
"..."xN
The group from the Naturalism Church went silent; they’d always heard that people from Windsor were unconventional. Seeing it today proved the rumors true.
The Sun Knight was a true man’s man, with arms thicker than most people’s legs. If he had a way forward, what about Anastasia? She was a Magic Doll now!
Saina’s eyelid twitched, the topic too explosive, leaving her, a Pope who fought her way up from a mountain of corpses and seas of blood, at a loss for words.
Wayne struggled to shift his gaze from the magnificent landscapes of His Holiness the Pope, scanning across five or six rather attractive female mages, to see if there were any acquaintances there.
At a glance, there indeed were.
"Flora?"
The former Her Holiness of the Outer World now stood meekly by Saina’s side. Although her eyes were blood-red, her submissive demeanor showed that she had been well-trained.
Didn’t expect Saina to have this kind of skill—is it exclusive to the Inverted World, or does the Outer World have it too, just never revealed?
"Wayne, is she your girlfriend too?" William wondered.
How come everywhere you go it’s a girlfriend; setting everything else aside, can you even handle them all?
"No, Flora and I have nothing to do with each other—if I have to say there is a connection, it’s just a matter of life and death."
"People’s lives were involved?"
"Uh-huh."
Wayne nodded slightly, not clarifying his relationship with Saina of the Outer World.
The Saina of the Inverted World wasn’t involved in humanity, slaughtered the Sun Church, killed Pope Ivan of the Dark Church, and was the mortal enemy of William and Anastasia.
Even though she was now very charming, inciting in Wayne the desire to make pastries as a pastry chef, a villain was still a villain, and Wayne didn’t want to whitewash her.
Too many black marks, just self-destruct on the spot!
"Moonlight Knight, name your price to leave us be," Said Saina straightforwardly.
No need for secrecy in the Inverted World; human ugliness was everywhere. When it came down to it, it was still a matter of how much money would be added.
If girlfriends can’t be abandoned, she could give Wayne all of hers, especially Flora, the former Holy Maiden who still maintained her purity. Slightly trained, she would be a Sun Fury as cunning as any big brute or doll, right?
"Don’t say that; actually, I do have something in mind..."
Wayne stroked his chin, raised an eyebrow, and said, "You spend a month with me, that’s my price."
"So, there’s no room to negotiate?"
"You don’t want to negotiate, and you’re blaming me?"
Wayne shrugged, playing the deal-maker, "If His Holiness the Pope thinks my price is too high, we can bargain. If not a month, twenty days is negotiable."
"..."
"Also, don’t be so sure to seal the deal. You’re underestimating me. Who knows, after twenty days, you might want another twenty!"
"Compelling argument!"
William nodded repeatedly, signaling he could lend a hand too.
Anastasia was speechless, Philomena rolled her eyes, at a loss as to what the Philomena of the Outer World saw in Wayne.
Even the Dark Goddess was baffled; humans can be blind; that’s forgivable. But a Goddess, who hasn’t seen what goods? How could she fall, for his youth, his good physique?
If that was the case, the Outer World was no better than the Inverted World!
"What a slick talker; I’d like to collect your tongue," Saina’s eyes flashed dangerously.
"Don’t say that; all my girlfriends are here, they’ll be angry."
Wayne continued to provoke Saina, watching her eyes redden and her cheeks become dotted with fine dragon scales. He waved his hand, drawing White Night Purity Words from The Void and transforming into the Moonlight Knight.
William quickly followed suit, becoming the Sun Knight.
"Anna, Philomena, leave the rest to you two. William and I will handle the dragon slaying."
Wayne nocked an arrow, it dashed like a gleam of light, and in a flash, he was in front of Saina.
The arrow pierced through barriers of thought, rippling like visible waves of water. Its speed decreased, and by the time it reached Saina, it had slowed to a crawl.
Saina extended her half-transformed dragon hand, grabbed hold of the light arrow, and crushed it disdainfully, "Galver was useless, and so are you. You’ve just become blessed with White Night Purity Words, and yet you dare claim to be a God’s Chosen Knight."
"Sounds good, wait and I’ll shoot the makeup right off your face," Wayne said as he turned, slapped his backside, finishing his provocation, then fired an arrow into the sky, leading with his thoughts, disappearing from his spot.
Saina, unfamiliar with the insinuations of the innuendo, completely missed the point, but the challenge seemed to her an outrageous outrage, spurring her to anger. Her dragon wings unfolded from her back, beating swiftly as she surged toward the sky.
William was about to follow when he saw a line of Naturalism Church female mages form a combat formation. He blinked innocently and threw a light sphere at them with a wave of his hand.
The roar was deafening, shockwaves of golden light ploughed through the earth.
