Chapter 990: Chapter 359: I Will Not Bestow Evolution Upon You

Lundan City suburbs.

The rickety old car traveled on the dilapidated highway.

Wayne was driving, with the hulking William in the passenger seat, and Anastasia and Philomena sitting in the back, all of them his wings in the Outer World, relationships worth hundreds of millions, familiar with each other through and through.

Er, William was still a stranger, which they did not need to become familiar with.

"Wayne, are you sure Austin won’t commit suicide?" William suddenly asked.

"..."

"Wayne, say something!"

"I don’t know..."

Wayne shook his head, if it were the Outer World, Austin would respect Megan as family, willing to live on as her support.

The Inverted World was a different story.

Negative information filled everyone with tendencies toward destruction and self-harm. Austin held the Twilight Deadlock, spared from the Corruption of negative information, but was not completely immune. Now that his nemesis was avenged and he had lost his purpose in life, who knew if he would live on for Megan.

Austin had said nothing at the time, probably because he knew Wayne was present. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t have died, so he pretended to find the will to live, only to continue with his suicide after Wayne left.

If that was the case, considering the time, Austin and Megan were probably both gone, Lundan returning to Queen Sophia’s reign.

The topic was too heavy; Wayne didn’t want to talk about these things. This wasn’t his world, and he couldn’t make the decisions.

Even for the three people in the car, he could only lend a hand, never staying in this world to grow old with them.

Growing old wasn’t possible either; the Inverted World would explode.

All Wayne could do, before this world of Cao Dan blew up, was to make them as happy as possible.

Feeling his own weakness and the powerless bystander effect, he once again yearned intensely for power.

He wanted to become stronger, to obtain the power to change everything, to make the world revolve around him!

Boom!!!

A loud explosion burst forth in front of them, the roar vibrating through the mountains, and a huge fissure cut across the earth, pulling apart a chasm on either side, blocking the old car’s path.

The strong gust of wind, like a shockwave, shattered the only front windshield, leaving the old car stuck and completely immobile.

The four of them hurriedly jumped out of the car. Wayne stared dumbfounded at the sky as a Green Dragon, over three hundred meters in size, swooped down from the horizon.

With fireballs spewing from its mouth, the forest was crushed, the ground caved in, and everything within sight was utterly destroyed.

"Naturalist Knight!"

"Saina!"

William and Anastasia spoke at the same time, their words full of hate, and also surprise, not understanding why the enemy would appear here.

Logically, Saina, seated as the strongest knight, should be in Austria, enjoying the worship of The Church’s Followers.

Boom!

The dragon’s wings, large enough to blot out the sky, swept across the skies, casting large shadows on the ground. Its domineering presence made the air thick and suffocating, compelling one to kneel in humble veneration.

Boom!

The Giant Dragon landed, kicking up dust that filled the sky. A pair of red dragon eyes scanned the location of the old car, flashing with a ferocious light, and spewing out several figures from its mouth.

As the dust filled the air, both the dragon’s presence and the shadow of the Green Dragon disappeared.

Then, a gust of wind arose, sweeping the dust in all directions, revealing several figures.

The leading beautiful woman had a tall body, stunning face, and figure. Her face was elegant with an inherent confidence, her brows carried a mixture of three parts arrogance, three parts disdain for everything, and ninety-four parts undeniable imperial might.

Saina.

She wore the lavish robe of The Church’s Pope, every gesture exuding grace and nobility. Perhaps it was due to the uniform, or perhaps because she had become the Pope + Naturalist Knight; her lofty temperament added another layer of allure to her already stunning beauty, catching Wayne’s eye.

He was tempted!

The several figures around her were all women from The Church of Naturalism, mostly Golden Mages in Cultivation, the Pope’s bodyguards, and also her servants.

Saina might not need them, but as the Pope, she had to have a few lackeys running errands.

Otherwise, tending to everything personally, she would be undermining her own status as the Pope.

"Sun Knight, Anastasia, I didn’t expect to find you both in Lundan, but this is good; it saves me the trouble of looking for you one by one," Saina’s eyes swept across the two, only paying significant attention to William.

When attacking the Dark Church Headquarters, Saina forcefully killed Ivan and implanted a tracking spell on the puppet body of Anastasia.

For this dear sister, Saina was not in a hurry to kill her. She planned to play a cat-and-mouse game slowly, until breaking her down mentally before swallowing her whole.

Unexpectedly, it was a pleasant surprise that the Sun Knight had appeared before her.

Wayne and Philomena were ignored by Saina, a chauffeur and a beautiful vase, both useless follies.

Especially the chauffeur, with his sneaky eyes; ever since she appeared, his gaze hadn’t moved from her for a moment.

Saina glared fiercely at him. Her thoughts concentrated into a beam, violently striking Wayne’s brain, intending to turn everything inside his skull into mush.

The spiritual attack dissipated like a stone sinking into the ocean only causing Wayne to shiver briefly.

Saina was surprised at this, her expression growing stern as she had to treat this mysterious powerhouse with caution, "Pope of The Church of Naturalism, Naturalist Knight Saina, who are you?"

"Moonlight Knight."

"Galver... were you defeated by you?"

Saina was even more surprised; she only knew that in the Inverted World the Godchosen Artifact would automatically select a new knight, but the criteria were unclear. However, this was the first time she heard of a change in knight status.

"Galver..."

Wayne frowned slightly, puzzled, "Who is that? I think I’ve heard that somewhere."
