Chapter 918 - 340
Chapter 918: 340
Where is this the spokesperson of Heaven on earth? It’s clearly an undercover planted by Hell in the Heavenly Father’s Court!
"Wait, could he really be an undercover?" Wayne arrived at the edge of the Barrier and saw a host of clergy who had hit the deck.
Umr’s angelic power was exhausted, and he returned to Heaven, leaving the nun with the Holy Spirit Physique asleep with even breathing and a furrowed brow. Wayne, who preferred the rich over the poor, didn’t bother to intervene once he confirmed she was okay.
Among the rest of the clergy, Archbishop Hodgson was the most conspicuous. Wayne eyed this traitor, contemplating whether to finish him off.
"Boss, who did you say is the undercover?" Mona asked curiously.
"The Pope,"
Wayne ticked off his reasons on his fingers, and Mona, as a victim, couldn’t help but nod in agreement.
Not to mention, don’t mention, this series of maneuvers was too coincidental. Whether the Pope did it intentionally or not, he could not shirk the responsibility.
This was the deed of an Archangel. A common clergy member couldn’t shoulder such huge blame. Gunther couldn’t do it; only the Pope had the qualifications, and even if it was an unintended mistake, it was his tough luck.
Mona couldn’t help but nod her head. Knowing now the extent of the filth inside and out caused by the Pope, Hexuno was outraged, swearing that he would make the other pay the price.
"This guy..."
Wayne stared at Hodgson for a while, then suddenly pressed his hand down, a gesture for Mona to take him out.
"Boss, he is already one of your people."
"It’s precisely because he’s already one of my people that he should be taken out. I won’t tolerate even a speck of sand in my eyes!"
Hodgson had voluntarily defected to the Hell Demon Lord, participated in the doomsday plan to open the Hell Gate and was one of the key executioners. If the plan succeeded, the entire Republic of Ireland would be used for a sacrifice to the Evil God. Just thinking about it made Wayne’s scalp tingle.
If Hodgson had been a minion of the Devil from the start, Wayne would have praised his loyalty. But he was the Archbishop of Saint Patrick Cathedral, the top clerical authority of the Heavenly Father’s Court in the Republic of Ireland. Traitors, wherever they are, should be dealt with more severely.
Hodgson had to die. Wayne wouldn’t spare him just because he had become one of his followers. Everyone must pay the price for their actions, and clinging to a powerful patron was useless.
Hodgson’s treason had been reported to the Papal State. He had once led the Republic of Ireland’s independence and was a major contributor to the Heavenly Father’s Court’s suppression of the Windsor royal authority. With this credit, he wouldn’t be executed immediately, but instead taken back to the Papal State to be slowly dealt with, to see if there was any other useful information.
The reputation of the Papal State’s dungeon was well known. Wayne, fearing that the truth of Void Evolution might be discovered, decided to take him out now.
Angels and Devils caught fire together, and the traitor Archbishop died a violent death. It sounded so pleasant to the ear.
Wayne was insistent on killing Hodgson. Mona took the matter into her own hands and, borrowing the identity of an Archangel, executed the traitor with Holy Flame.
A fire burned it all down, and then water was used to wash away the remains, along with the ashes.

According to his research of the Bible, the four Archangels each represented earth, fire, water, and wind. Hexuno was in charge of water, and Mona, as Hexuno’s reincarnation, was quite nourishing. He had never seen her use her water-related abilities.
Her potential was huge; there was a lot to dig into.
In the time it took to turn around, the secretary went from an average Magic-talented Silver Mage to an Archangel. Her future was boundless.
The greater Mona’s potential, the greater Wayne’s pressure. Not wanting to be outshone by his secretary, he decided to accelerate his process, immediately seeking the resources provided by the Dark Goddess to take his own Evolution to the next level.

Saint Patrick Cathedral.
The clergy staggered back in. When divine beings fought, it was the mortals who suffered; they were all ringing in their heads.
Archbishop Hodgson had been executed by angels for aiding devils in combat. The death of a traitor wasn’t anything to mourn, but a country can’t go a day without the Lando Family, nor a cathedral without an Archbishop. Several white-bearded old men eagerly looked to Wayne, hoping the Papal Envoy would step forward to take charge.
Wayne was too busy to play along with their problems. He demanded seventy percent, then, without looking, pointed at random and picked a white-bearded old man to temporarily fill the position of Archbishop.
He may have closed his eyes, but this pick wasn’t at random. When leaders choose their people, however absurd it may seem, there is always a reason.
Take this white-bearded old man, for instance. The leader didn’t remember his name, which wasn’t important. All he knew was that the man was devout in faith and gave the most when it came to buying Indulgence Certificates.
...
The next day, a black sedan left the Cathedral, heading straight for the next target.
The Dark Goddess had provided Wayne with two benefits.
One was on the way riding a horse. Anastasia contacted the Dark Church Headquarters, her Pope father, and brought the relic to Lundan in the name of the Divine Decree.
The other Wayne had to retrieve himself, located within Windsor Domain, the burial ground of a former Dark Knight and where Austin had found the ancient ruins of Twilight Deadlock.
Wayne had learned the location from Austin and had planned to retrieve it. It was a good time to handle this on his trip.
Without much detour, it could be considered on the way.
In the backseat, Wayne looked over the map, next to him was Chris, who leaned against his shoulder and slept soundly.
Last night...
The plot was rather entangled.
In the end, the most terrifying choice for adults is when both opposing outcomes are correct, whereas children’s choices are born out of greed but adults’ out of necessity.
Wayne felt aggrieved as well.
