Chapter 917: Chapter 340: Sky Goddess, I’m Coming In
Grove.
Crackling noises.
Wayne, holding up his pants, walked out of the grove, with the expressionless Mona beside him. After thorough investigation, Mona was just Mona, and the secretary was still the same secretary.
There’s not much to say about the specifics, just that it was elegantly phrased, welcomed with cheers, got out of hand, and was aimed at settling matters quietly.
Although Wayne didn’t understand angels, he was sure that Hexuno, one of the four Archangels, couldn’t possibly be involved in these things.
There was a minor incident in between.
Hexuno was cornered, couldn’t stand the absurd things Mona was doing, and fiercely scolded her about honor, dignity, sanctity, yada yada yada, which annoyed Mona to no end. She simply stepped aside from the lead position and watched from the sidelines.
It didn’t take long, about two minutes, and afterwards, Hexuno quieted down.
As if devils and angels were bitter enemies; the most ruthless ones to their own kind are their own people.
Mona didn’t mention it, and it wasn’t clear if Wayne noticed anything, but he was really exerting himself during those two minutes.
"Mona, there are seven Reincarnated Angels in total. The Papal State has already located all seven, and one of them is an impostor. Surely you know who it is," Wayne said, slapping his butt, ready to expose the fake Reincarnated Angel.
"Boss, you suspect Kel?"
"How could I? With his quirky aesthetics, I’d believe it if he said his memories of Heaven awakened when he was three," Wayne mocked.
"If it’s not Kel, then there’s no one left."
Mona analyzed, "On the surface, Heaven deployed seven angels to come down to the Mortal World, while secretly there’s another with a concealed identity who won’t easily expose themselves until the last moment. So it’s normal to have eight Reincarnated Angels when we have seven."
"Sounds logical, you almost convinced me."
Wayne rolled his eyes, "Is there a chance that I am the fake Reincarnated Angel?"
Mona shook her head, and Wayne, seeing her response, didn’t insist, continuing, "Should I break the contract and inform the Papal State about this?"
Mona still shook her head, explaining the importance of the contract. Without this contract, not only would Wayne lose a competent and clever secretary, but she would also gradually lose herself.
There was no need to inform the Papal State.
Mona blinked, if Wayne didn’t mind covering for her under the guise of a Reincarnated Angel, it could prove incredibly effective when needed.
"Alright, I’m not short of taking the blame."
Wayne shrugged, not minding covering for Mona, and inquired about the mission of the seven Reincarnated Angels descended to the Mortal World.
Seven angels reincarnated at once, including one of the four High Order Angels, particularly the number seven, which just so happens to correspond with the Seven Demon Lords of Hell; Wayne definitely didn’t believe it was a coincidence.
"Come on, you seven being in the mortal realm, is Heaven planning to crack down on corruption and other activities against Hell?"
"Boss, my memory fragments are very limited, mostly related to fighting, I still don’t know the missions about descending to the Mortal World," Mona couldn’t answer immediately, and although she could ask Hexuno, he was rather dismissive of her, despising her impurity.
"Is that guy so tough to deal with?"
"Not too tough to handle, boss, I have a plan."
"...I guess this plan must be something fiery."
Wayne smirked, the cold wind whistling, a bit hard on his teeth.
While handling the matter, Mona talked about her relationship with Hexuno and the struggle over whose personality controlled the memory. Hexuno, for unclear reasons, was on the losing side, which might be related to the curse of Hell, and his situation was very bleak.
Hexuno was at a disadvantage in the struggle for dominance, but she wouldn’t disappear, and her vast memories would continue to disturb and influence Mona until Mona accepted all memories, and both would then completely merge.
Then, Hexuno would change her name to Mona and reclaim all the power of an Archangel.
Though Mona was irrevocably changed by the memories, such as her thoughts, rationality, preferences, personality, and ways of behavior, diverging from her original self and gradually leaning towards Hexuno, it was still the best possible outcome.
At least she was still herself, she still existed.
No one wants to become someone else, allowing another person to be reborn within them; Mona detested Hexuno, and now, given the opportunity, she wanted to drag Hexuno down with her.
Mona saw this as the best way to preserve her self, simple, crude, and effective; Wayne knew all of this and wanted to advise Mona to respect the Archangel a bit more, but he opened his mouth and figured there was no need.
Hexuno was nobody to him; he only cared about his own secretary.
With this in mind, Wayne gave Mona a look, in order to uncover the reason for the angels descending to the Mortal World, to better participate in the crackdowns in Hell, Mona’s plan could be implemented, what did a little discomfort matter to him.
Mona nod, finding this reasonable, for justice, for Heaven, and for protecting world peace, she persuaded Hexuno to let go of her pure heart, and cooperate properly by spilling the truth.
The two exchanged looks, and the Archangel was sold out.
Mona felt no remorse, neither did Wayne; they both knew that the initiator of this deal was the Pope, executed by Archbishop Gunther of St. Paul Cathedral, with the entire Heavenly Father’s Court involved from top to bottom.
Thus, hiding Mona’s identity as a Reincarnated Angel was crucial; once exposed, everyone in Heavenly Father’s Court would be brought down to the bottom.
Especially the Pope; he should be put on the grill!
The Crucifix Uniform was his gift, leading Mona’s fall was his initiative; one broad move down, the Archangel lost purity, news that could make the Seven Demon Lords of Hell die laughing.
