Chapter 832: Chapter 318: The Good Days Are Still Ahead!_3
Seeing Ivette’s distressed expression, and her fear to voice her anger, Wayne went in for the kill, leaving Ivette utterly chilled to the bone, "This friend of mine has made quite a name for herself in the Magic Realm, a God-chosen Knight of the Moonlight Goddess walking the Mortal World. You should have heard of her."
So, it was the Moonlight Knight, no wonder she was so formidable.
Ivette felt a tingling sensation on her scalp. Death Knight, Dark Knight, Moonlight Knight—three out of the five God-chosen Knights—the Lando Family had already secured the robust support of these knights.
What about the Naturalist Knight and the Sun Knight, were they on their way here on horseback?
Let’s be honest, stop hiding things. Your family, the Lando Family, has already secured the support of all the God-chosen Knights, right?
Ivette was astounded, unable to comprehend how the Lando Family had managed this. Could these five God-chosen Knights really sit together without starting a fight?
Ivette was at a loss for words, and seeing this, Wayne was very pleased. This was exactly the effect he wanted, and he cheerfully added, "Lady Collins, I’ll be counting on you for my work in the Magic Department. Do well, and the Lando Family will not let you down."
Ivette could only smile wryly and nod, as there was nothing else she could do.
What else could she do? Declare her undying loyalty to the Queen and then be executed by a God-chosen Knight on the spot?
Life is precious; why harbor despair? If even she was gone, who would protect the Queen?
"Oh, Lady Collins, I was just promoted to Deputy Minister not long ago, and tonight is my first night on the job. Could you please explain what my daily tasks are and where the Magic Department’s warehouse is located?" Wayne’s need for information was urgent.
"The Magic Department has one Minister and three Deputy Ministers..." Ivette began slowly.
The Queen was the nominal head of the Magic Department and rarely involved in its management unless there was a major crisis, like the former Deputy Minister, Ob’s betrayal, Deputy Minister Alen’s disappearance, or the Devil’s surprise attacks on various branches of the Magic Department.
The Magic Department was governed by three Deputy Ministers. Ivette was deeply trusted by Sophia and usually carried out the duties of the Minister. The other two ministers were once responsible for maintaining order within the entire Magic Department, and Alen was in charge of overseeing the mist in Lundan.
Now, with Sophia still the nominal Minister, her exclusive powers had been transferred to Austin, effectively making him do the job Ivette once did.
Celeste was responsible for overseeing the mist. Ivette had nothing to do under Austin’s appointment, replacing Wayne to oversee the order of the Magic Department.
Previously, this was Ob’s role, a position of significant authority where everyone had to tread carefully around Ob.
This was not a seat just anyone could fill. Ob’s surname was Windsor. What was once ruled by the Windsor family had, after thirty years, been taken over by someone from the Lando family, Wayne.
It was only fair.
If someone else were arranged for this position, all would have been in vain.
Although there was no official change of dynasty within the Windsor family, more and more of the elite and upper class were digesting this news. Wayne’s dream of ruling over his surroundings was nearly within reach, and the best days were yet to come!
Once Wayne heard it was a lucrative supervisory role, his interest peaked, and after repeatedly confirming that the warehouse was indeed under his control, he was visibly delighted, grinning broadly.
"Cackling———"x2
Huh, why were there two laughs?
Wayne turned to Dreyne speechlessly, "What are you laughing at? I’m warning you, this is my family’s warehouse, and it has nothing to do with you."
"I’m just happy for you, nothing else."
Better be!
Wayne had planned to visit the warehouse tonight to check for fire hazards and see where he could make changes, but seeing Dreyne unashamedly ready to milk the situation, he instantly dropped the idea.
"By the way, Lady Collins, do you know about the two projects I had my father arrange?" Wayne asked.
Ivette nodded. Void Lifeform and Hell Studies—two projects, roughly moving all relevant materials to the Magical Department Headquarters, awaiting the establishment of Deputy Minister Wayne’s new base to move the laboratories over.
"Let’s go, take me to the warehouse."
Wayne was eager to start his research, and to Dreyne on the side, he said, "You see, I’m quite busy with work, I have to pull an all-nighter tonight, no time to fool around with you. Here are the car keys, go back on your own."
Such words could certainly set imaginations running wild, purposefully.
The effect was noticeable; Ivette couldn’t help but speculate about the relationship between Wayne and Dreyne, and thinking to herself, the Queen really knew how to pick people; Wayne indeed liked something chewy.
Dreyne caught the hint in Wayne’s words, graciously did not expose him, and even nodded, "I’ll stay and work overtime with you. It’s different being here with you than being alone at home. At least I can see you."
(눈_눈)x2
Wayne: Would you listen to yourself, who asked you to add your own twist?
Ivette: Truly a scion of the Lando family, too slick with women, Austin, you still deny he’s your son, how could you!
...
Ivette led the way, opening the underground passage while explaining the office building’s Magic Defense and the methods to disengage and engage it.
Soon, the three of them arrived at an independent warehouse on the third underground floor.
Dreyne obediently stood behind Wayne, playing the full act, his face displaying the persona of secretary+lover, making Wayne extremely uncomfortable.
But Ivette was comfortable.
Feeling that this act could be continued, he planned to perform it for Philomena and Chris back home, watching the pretty ladies get flustered would certainly be amusing.

Ivette deactivated the magic mechanism, pushed open the door, turned on the wall lights, and a vast warehouse unfolded before them from end to end with hundreds of shelving units. The sealed boxes, filled with research materials confiscated from various branches, were countless.
