Chapter 1301: Chapter 437 Uriel: He is slandering me! He is slandering me!

"Hey, are you tired of living or what?"

Wayne glared at Bedford in annoyance. He hadn’t noticed before that this Legendary Mage had such a penchant for calling things as they are.

Curious, what sort of grand benefits did Uriel promise to get Bedford so blindly loyal?

A stigmata and a promise to ascend to Heaven—was that enough to sell out your entire family?

Seriously, did the deep scars on your hand get licked there by the Archangel with disgust?

"Wayne, there’s no way you’re Archangel Hexuno. Everyone here knows the legends about him. Look at your horrible personal life—you don’t even spare your sister. What does that have to do with purity?"

Bedford kept hammering on: "I get it now. You’re impersonating the Archangel, using your filth to tarnish his sacred name. You must be a Devil!"

"Stop talking, I beg you! Stop talking! x2"

Hexuno and Heya felt a sharp pain in their chests. One wanted to cry; the other couldn’t even muster tears. Both fell silent.

Bedford made a swift move, jumping to Uriel’s side, eyes wide: "Lord Uriel, there’s a Devil impersonating the Archangel. Please, you must step forward and deliver justice."

After finishing, he started exaggerating with exaggerated winks.

By Bedford’s logic, the truth would be instantly clear. Just one look from Uriel would place him on the moral high ground, and he could freely point fingers at Hexuno. This wouldn’t just be a win—it’d be a slam dunk.

But Uriel remained indifferent, replying coolly: "He is Hexuno; I’d know even if he were reduced to ash. Like me, he’s an Archangel of the Kingdom of Heaven. There’s no Devil impersonating him. Don’t bring it up again."

"No way. Just open your eyes and look!"

"Looking won’t make you pregnant! x2"

Just as things were reaching a climax, Uriel abruptly stopped cooperating. Felster was so anxious it made him physically uncomfortable, urging Bedford to keep driving the drama forward.

"Urge, urge, all you do is urge. You’re frantic, but am I not?"

Bedford, utterly fed up, took a deep breath and said: "Lord Uriel, I know Wayne’s history very well. His girlfriend, mistress, secretary—he’s got them all. Everyone in this room knows the guy hosts scandalous parties every other day. He can’t possibly be the pure Archangel Hexuno. So why don’t you..."

"Just take another look. This involves Heaven’s glory and dignity; spreading rumors would be disastrous."

"For Heaven’s glory and dignity, that’s precisely why I can’t look again!"

"You’re nothing but a foolish Insectoid. Why insist on digging deep? Don’t you understand even the simplest workplace politics?"

Uriel understood Bedford’s good intentions. He wanted him to hoist the banner of justice, but this flag couldn’t be raised—it was a slippery slope no one should touch.

"Uriel, what’s the deal with this lackey you’ve found? His insight and brainpower are just as hopeless as yours!"

Wayne burst into laughter, grabbing the slender waist of the beauty he was holding. He kissed her passionately on her red lips and then said, "I represent the purity of Hexuno. Who agrees? Who opposes?"

Philomena bashfully slapped Wayne. So many people were watching, and yet here he was kissing without a care—how was she supposed to face anyone after this?

At the back of the crowd, Vikul trembled with rage. He understood why Uriel was spouting lies with his eyes open. Even if Vikul were in the same position, he wouldn’t dare speak the truth either.

But Hexuno had really crossed the line—he abandoned himself to depravity and allowed Wayne to defile the Seven Virtues. Right in front of everyone, he stomped purity into the ground with unabashed malice.

Degrading yourself and then finding a scapegoat to further tarnish purity—this was a sin upon sin, a supercharged disgrace!

The honest guy reached the breaking point, flying into a rage...

...but ultimately didn’t act.

Sure, the current "Hexuno" was corrupt, but the scandal of the true Hexuno would be doubly disgraceful. Better to stay put.

Even taking the safest route, wasn’t Uriel technically saying something? The Archangels and Seraphs were playing dumb, so as a lowly Cherub, with no weight to his words, it was wiser for Vikul to keep playing dumb.

But still...

"So infuriating! x3"

Vikul was furious, yet there was someone even angrier.

Felster and Bedford were boiling mad. They came for entertainment but left bitterly empty-handed, their stomachs full of frustration.

The Lord Pride wasn’t a fool. He had laid the truth out for Uriel, yet Uriel stubbornly refused to even glance at it. Obviously, he was pretending to be oblivious, unwilling to point out Hexuno publicly.

"Fine, fine, fine! You hypocritical Angels—you think not exposing crime means it doesn’t exist, huh? Covering for your own people is all good, right?"

"Well, today I, the Lord Pride, will speak the truth on behalf of the Heavenly Father, letting everyone see clearly who truly represents the pure Hexuno."

In that moment, the Lord Pride wasn’t alone. The will of the Lord of Envy also loomed behind him.

"Wayne, look at your sleazy smile, willingly indulging in women’s lust. How could you possibly be Archangel Hexuno?" Bedford shouted angrily.

"Steamed bun. You want to argue?" Wayne raised an eyebrow, chuckling.

That lackey was clearly too mad to think straight. Even after his master had spoken, he refused to back down. Did he truly believe that justice and morals ruled the world? Ha, the world was governed by human connections.

If you couldn’t grasp this simple truth, then you might as well dream of ascending to Heaven.

"Even the Hell Devils wouldn’t bother opening their gates for you!"

Uriel frowned, closing his eyes: "Best, you’re spewing too much nonsense. I’ve said, enough is enough."

"Best," of course, was the nickname Uriel gave Bedford. "Beldefort Bedford" didn’t roll off the tongue, and the Archangel was too lazy to remember it. His pride flared, and he casually came up with a smoother name.

"Lord Uriel, I’m doing this for your sake. You’ve claimed the mantle of justice and morality; you can’t let this treacherous scoundrel deceive you," Bedford protested, his face flushing as though he were suffering some massive grievance.

Indeed, it was a pretty big grievance—he had put in thirty hours of effort, and for what? This nonsense?
