Chapter 1292: Chapter 434: The Lord of Pride Finds the Archangel Far Too Arrogant_4

Good heavens, Vikul is here too!

Bedford thought it was unbelievable. Four of the Seven Virtues suddenly showed up, and their target wasn’t even him, the stowaway Great Demon King. What on earth is Heaven doing? Are they seriously planning to ignite a War of Faith?

For a moment, Lord Pride was deeply worried.

Wars between nations were still acceptable, but wars of faith affected too many. The God-chosen Continent would be ravaged, becoming no different from Hell. Where would he go to enjoy his peaceful days then?

Lord Pride had a rough guess at the truth. The Reincarnated Angels were likely here for a War of Faith. Uriel and Hexuno had a falling-out over leadership, leading to the spectacle unfolding today.

Suddenly, the entertainment didn’t seem as fun as it had been at first.

ε=(′д`*)))

Life isn’t easy, sighed the Devil.

"Why are you still standing there? I’ve received the invitation from the Lando Family. Inform Wayne Lando that there will be a banquet at Buckingham Palace tomorrow evening at six. Tell him to bring his secretary. I’ll cover the bill for this meal." Uriel spoke with a stony face.

"Understood, I’ll notify him right away." Bedford turned and walked off.

It’s not in Hell, so one must stay optimistic. The War of Faith was just his speculation after all. Why exactly four Reincarnated Angels had descended remained uncertain.

Tomorrow night, he had to witness it up close, face-to-face, front row, eyes wide open!

At that thought, the image of Hexuno covered in filth sprang to his mind, and he couldn’t help but feel a restless anticipation.

Dammit, thirty whole hours left. Why does time crawl so slowly?

The Devil was about to die from impatience!

Wayne Manor.

Wayne had just stepped through the door when he spotted Philark. The latter explained that there was an important call from Lando Manor, and Mr. Austin was waiting for his response.

"Handled it so quickly? This kid gets things done!"

Wayne sank into the sofa and dialed the number for Lando Manor, his secretary and bodyguard standing one to each side.

When the call connected, Austin’s voice came through: "The Queen received the invitation. Tomorrow at six at Buckingham Palace, the Lando Family is requested to attend as well. They explicitly named your secretary."

"Impressive! You managed to arrange everything in the time it takes for a meal. Looks like I’ll have to reevaluate my opinion of you. Keep up the good work, and you might keep striving for the Lando Family for another thirty years." Wayne remarked encouragingly.

"Cut the nonsense. They’re expecting you. You’re the head of the family, and neither Slyphy nor I intend to attend tomorrow." Austin stated bluntly.

Tomorrow was clearly going to be lively, and Austin was not one for crowded scenes.

"Alright then. Tomorrow night, I’ll set up a poker game at Lando Manor. You and the mentor can play a few hands."

Wayne rubbed his chin. Seven Reincarnated Angels gathering for a meeting—Lord Pride would definitely catch wind of it and could very well show up at the scene.

He might appear on site—or, even worse, he might break into the estate while they were away. Wayne mulled it over. Tomorrow, he’d assemble his winged crew and arrange for a few competent bodyguards. Better safe than sorry; he didn’t want to come back to find the place wiped clean.

Without a doubt, the best candidates for bodyguards were Vizi, Anastasia, and Sukra—each capable of taking on a demigod in single combat. He would also bring Hexuno and Frey with him. Even if Uriel lost his temper, they’d be more than equipped to deal with it.

After all, Uriel represented Heaven, a figure that couldn’t cross too many lines even in anger. He wasn’t a Devil who could carry the burden of such infamy as senseless slaughter.

"One more thing—other members of the Tulip Family were also invited to the banquet tomorrow. Doesn’t this scene feel familiar to you?" Austin said in a low voice.

"Quite familiar. Right now, you’re just like Queen Sophia used to be—the protagonist! You can’t skip it. Why not come with me tomorrow?"

"Master Wayne, it’s you who are more like the Queen these days. I’m no longer her." Austin hung up decisively, not sparing Wayne another thought.

"So heartless. Maybe that’s just how the upper-class nobles are..."

Wayne sighed as he hung up the call. Without looking back, he instructed, "The banquet is set. Tomorrow the Queen is picking up the tab. You two are coming with me."

Heya had no opinions; whatever Wayne said goes. Hexuno, however, was a bit uneasy. Meeting Uriel in such a public setting, alongside the likely presence of Kiraal and Vikul, stirred her deeper concerns about lying again.

Not that lying was a big deal—after all, once you’ve done it a few times, another lies hardly matters. But the real issue was Uriel causing too much fuss, making her uneasy. Considering Wayne’s identity as the Saint Heir, she resolved to keep an extra close eye on him tomorrow. Not even a single hair of his would be harmed by Uriel as long as she was there.

"Wayne, you’re back so early today?"

Chris descended the stairs, her long hair pinned up, wearing casual home clothes and the smile of a lady of the house. She first nodded in greeting to Secretary Mona, then...

Wait a minute—who’s that brazen woman?

Heya, clad in her white nun’s outfit that was loose rather than form-fitting, still couldn’t hide her graceful figure. One glance at her was enough to make Chris feel overwhelmingly insecure.

Chris spun on her heel and rushed back upstairs. Yet another stunning beauty on par with an Old Witch; she couldn’t take this on alone.

She needed reinforcements!

"Who is she?"

Heya frowned slightly. From Chris’s casual demeanor, it seemed she was quite close to the Archangel.

A sister?

"Her name’s Chris, the current mistress of Wayne Manor..."

Wayne leaned slightly against the sofa, tilting his head back. Then tilting it back a bit more: "And I’m the master of Wayne Manor. Does that make it clear for you?"

Heya froze in place, exclaiming in disbelief: "Arch... Archangel, with your exalted status, how could you..."

How could you repeatedly make such mistakes!

Heya wasn’t sure of Chris’s particular credentials, but judging by her vibe, she likely wasn’t a nun of the Heavenly Father’s Court. Nine out of ten, she was a Heretic. Someone of such status was unworthy of the esteemed Archangel.

"Ha!"

Hexuno let out a sarcastic laugh, her expression icy, and said mockingly, "This house boasts more than one mistress. There’s also a fiancée, a first love, and more at Wayne Manor in Lundan. Your shock’s not over yet!"

"That’s impossible! The Archangel isn’t that kind of person!"

Heya passionately objected but, upon seeing Hexuno’s derisive smirk, quickly turned to Wayne: "Archangel, say something!"

"What’s there to deny? I’m exactly that kind of person."

Wayne gave Hexuno a sideways glance, speaking as if to provoke: "I spent half my existence in Heaven staying pure. Now that I’ve finally reincarnated as a human under the pretext of seeking the Saint Heir, so what if I’m enjoying myself with a few women here? It’s my reward for upholding purity for so long."

Heya’s face flushed bright red. She stammered, "Y-You shouldn’t indulge in human trivial desires; you should continue to uphold your..."

"Indulging in desire is exactly what I want! I, Hexuno, love debauchery!"

Wayne deliberately jabbed at her with words, making Hexuno grit her teeth in anger. "Hey, you Seraph, are you just going to stand there uselessly as usual?"

"... At your service."

Heya lowered her head, looking utterly heartbroken as if her very faith had been shattered. Suddenly, Secretary Mona’s delicate and refined appearance gained a radiant aura in her eyes.

There was no special reason; it was merely the fact that, as a Church-certified nun, the secretary was at least *one of their own*.

Reinvigorated, Heya grabbed Hexuno by the shoulders and declared, "You! From now on, you must stay by his side every night. This is my lifelong request. The purity of the Archangel depends on you protecting it."

Hexuno: (는_는)

That damned approval filled her with a near irrepressible desire to strangle Heya on the spot.

"Boss, I mean it—give me just one chance to kill her!"

"No way—I really like Heya."

"..."

The three little ones descending the stairs froze mid-step upon hearing this. Veronica stormed into the living room, her curiosity piqued to see this Heya Wayne supposedly liked—the so-called rival of her Moonlight.

What a gorgeous elder sister!

"Gulp!"

The sound of someone swallowing nervously was comically loud, causing Wayne, Hexuno, Heya, Chris, and Viley to shoot Veronica disdainful looks simultaneously.

Realizing her blunder, Veronica’s face turned crimson. She hastily scurried back to Chris’s side, clutching her hand, and stammered, "Senior, I can explain—it’s not what you think!"

Wayne: (・˘_˘・)

What the hell? Shouldn’t it be "Wayne, I can explain" right now?
