Chapter 1291: Chapter 434: The Lord of Pride Finds the Archangel Far Too Arrogant_3

It was a good thing; he did not argue.

Ever since Lord Pride came to the mortal world, he hadn’t been able to resist the allure of its dazzling pleasures, and had fallen, if only a little. Unlike the other Demon Kings, who wholeheartedly dedicated themselves to their ambitions, he devoted himself to indulging in the sugar-coated cannonballs of the capitalist world, spending his leisure time in pursuit of amusement.

Currently, there’s a grand source of amusement: imagining Uriel’s reaction upon seeing the now-purged-of-purity Hexuno. A fierce clash between the two? Highly desirable.

The commotion mustn’t be small—there should be large crowds to witness it.

But not too large; while this amusement could bring him laughter for a long time, it mustn’t accidentally leak back to Hell due to a single lapse of judgment on his part.

Above all, it mustn’t reach the ears of the Lord of Envy—the Lord’s grievances themselves are priceless entertainment!

Clearly, the arrogance of the mortal world and the arrogance of Hell might belong to the same entity, but the two sides do not frequently communicate. Their rate of information exchange pales in comparison with the pace of version updates, leaving them unaware of the magnitude of grievances recently suffered by the Lord of Envy.

If one delves into the reasons, on the one hand it’s pride, and on the other...

...it might very well be that both versions of Lord Pride—mortal and infernal—prefer to enjoy the laughter privately.

Pride says: "What’s wrong with my own people? Even among us, no one is allowed to share my amusement!"

"Sir Pedro, last time the Lando Family rebelled, it was done in full view of everyone, right before the Tulip Family. Now, as courtesy demands, we cannot afford to be overshadowed, at least not in terms of pomp and authority..."

"If you ask me, why not summon the entire Tulip Family to the Magical Department Headquarters... No, the Magical Department Headquarters is now under the Lando Family and outside the Queen’s control. The venue should be Buckingham Palace, and then you personally officiate the coronation for the Queen; only that would be suitably sacred!"

Bedford, getting carried away, slapped the table as he spoke passionately: "The rebellion of the Lando Family was unjustified; we are the rightful side. They are the ones who lack confidence. The larger the crowd, the more it underscores our clear conscience."

Uriel nodded quietly; he had been planning how to support the Queen’s ascension under countless watchful eyes. These words truly resonated with him.

"You’re quite capable; keep working hard, and perhaps you may ascend to Heaven someday."

"..."

"What is it? Don’t you wish to ascend to Heaven?"

"Not exactly... it’s just that many people say I’m destined for Hell."

Bedford sighed, reminiscing on how Uriel himself had been one of those people not so long ago.

"Who ascends to Heaven and who descends to Hell is not decided by those people." Uriel smiled enigmatically.

This subtle act was elegantly executed—not only expressing the Archangel’s lofty detachment from fame and fortune, and his pursuit of inner serenity, but also planting a clever foreshadowing for his eventual identity reveal, complete with suspense-building and a set-up for dramatic entourage.

Bedford’s eyes widened immediately, his hand stiffly rising as his throat quivered: "Sir Pedro, who... who exactly are you?"

"Heh..."

Uriel chuckled lightly without offering an answer.

The term "insectoid" was somewhat unfair; at least this fellow named Best had his merits. With a bit of nurturing, a place in Heaven was not beyond his reach.

"Who I am is unimportant. What matters is who you are." Uriel raised his goblet.

"I... I am willing to serve Your Grace!"

Bedford shot to his feet, his face flushed red with excitement, his expression reminiscent of someone meeting their destined lord.

"What, no loyalty to the Queen anymore?"

"I’ve dedicated my life to the Royal Family, but now... now I only want to ascend to Heaven!"

"Indeed, you are a remarkable Legendary Mage. In that case, you’ll be responsible for distributing the banquet invitations. No matter what methods you use, you must ensure the entire Lando Family attends at Buckingham Palace."

"Uh, well..."

"What is it? Unable to handle a trivial matter? Is this your so-called loyalty?"

"You misunderstand, Sir Pedro."

Bedford hurriedly explained: "I’m more than willing to serve Heaven—I dream of ascending there—but... the Lando Family is far too strong. My death wouldn’t matter, but ruining your grand plans would be an unforgivable sin."

"You certainly know how to speak."

Uriel narrowed his eyes slightly, his right eye radiating a streak of golden light, engraving a Golden Rule Holy Intent onto Bedford.

Bedford’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at the stigmata emerging on the back of his hand, utterly dumbfounded.

He—the mortal Lord Pride—had received the approval of Archangel Uriel!

"With my power, the Lando Family will understand the significance of this banquet. Whomever I wish to meet will inevitably come; they won’t miss out." Uriel said indifferently.

The arrogance of the mortal Lord flowed with the essence of his archenemy Michael, a flavor of Heaven. The stigmata bestowed upon him wasn’t just smoke-free; it resonated in near-perfect harmony.

Uriel was so prideful that, as an angel looking down on humanity, he didn’t bother to give Bedford a second glance, unaware of the grave sin he had just committed.

His tone remained dispassionate: "Send the invitations to the Lando Family and summon all members of the Tulip Family. Everyone must come, and quickly. Got it?"

Do I even need your urging? I’m more anxious than you are!

Bedford nodded profusely, abandoning his meal and rushing out of the restaurant.

Uriel watched him leave, then smiled and addressed the Queen: "This dog is quite promising; he’s mine from now on—no objections, I trust?"

Sophia could hardly say anything. She could only laugh helplessly.

Before her laughter subsided, Bedford returned: "Sir Pedro, the mission is almost complete."

"Already?!"

Uriel was stunned. What kind of efficiency was this? To think someone once labeled as an "insectoid" could achieve such speed. The Queen, neglecting such talent, deserved to have her authority stripped away.

"Uh, this is the Lando Family’s invitation... I had barely stepped outside when I ran into Wayne Lando, who said he wished to invite you to dinner—earliest tonight, latest tomorrow night."

With an air of loyalty, Bedford added: "Sir Pedro, our movements have been leaked... there’s a traitor among us."

Uriel’s face darkened, his voice cold: "If Kiraal and Vikul aren’t present, it must be one of them."
