Chapter 1290: Chapter 434: The Lord Pride Thinks the Archangel is Really Too Prideful_2

"You dare glare at me!"

Sophia snorted coldly: "Instead of agonizing over a few percentages, you should find a way to compete with Felster. You’ve just entered the tobacco industry, and if you want market share, you need to lower prices. Once he’s pushed out, the Bedford Family will dictate the price of cigarettes. With three percent profit margins, you can still make thirty percent of the money."

This is monopoly. It’s destroying the market!

With this kind of chaos, ordinary people won’t even be able to afford cigarettes!

Bedford was so enraged he almost revealed his vest identity. Competing for business might be tolerable, but raising prices was absolutely unacceptable.

As a Demon King, he’d worked for years to lower tobacco prices for the sake of shortening human lifespans by an average of ten years. He’d labored painstakingly to make affordable cigarettes accessible even to dock workers. Was all that effort for nothing!

Sophia and Bedford, on the other hand, managed to drive tobacco prices up by just using their mouths and hands. This was a desecration of the free market, a trampling of mortal laws, an injustice to the people—a crime worthy of Hell!

"Bedford, I’ve said what needed to be said. Is there anything else?" Sophia issued a dismissal.

"Your Majesty, I just want to go inside and have a meal. It’s midday, and I’ve come all this way. Surely you wouldn’t send me back with an empty stomach full of resentment?" Bedford retorted irritably.

"The guests inside are very important—not you..."

Sophia was about to refuse but suddenly nodded: "Ah, I see now. You have new intelligence on the Lando Family. Alright, come in with me."

The dining room doors swung open, and Sophia led Bedford inside, instructing the servant to add a chair beside her.

Uriel slightly tilted his head, glaring at the bemused Bedford. He couldn’t fathom why the Queen would bring a random stranger to such an important occasion.

"Lord Uriel, this gentleman is Beldefort Bedford, head of the Bedford Family within the Tulip Family. Out of loyalty, his family’s property was seized by the Lando Family, leaving him in a rather desperate state. He holds quite a bit of vital information..." Sophia explained.

Bedford bowed his head to conceal the shock in his eyes.

Uriel!

Among the seven Reincarnated Angels, there were two Archangels, and one Intelligence Angel representing temperance, Kiraal. Three virtues had arrived—could there be a fourth lurking?

So they really were coming for him!

Damn it, he had indeed been exposed!

But how had Heaven obtained the intelligence, having planned all of this more than thirty years ago?

It didn’t make sense. Where could the leak have come from?

Bedford, or rather, Lord Pride, had just sat down when he gained critical information. The thought of his pleasant mortal life coming to an end, with these Reincarnated Angels forcing him back into the dreariness of Hell, left his heart bitter.

What now!

"I see. You’ve come as a representative of the Tulip Family’s resistance forces. Tell me, what intelligence do you have?" Uriel nodded slightly.

The Archangel had no regard for mortal Legendary Mages or any so-called "Insectoid Families," but as an angel, his actions had to stand on moral high ground, and every word and deed had to reflect the angelic virtue.

If the Tulip Family collectively shouted for the Queen’s restoration and supported her return to the throne, Hexuno would lose ground in terms of righteousness, and his reputation in the Mortal World would suffer.

Strike both body and heart—why not?

Uriel was confident in his position, exuding an air of assured victory, and even began treating Bedford kindly.

What nonsense—what’s this about the Tulip Family’s resistance forces?

So they weren’t here for him?

Bedford sensed amusement—or rather, the scent of intrigue—not a plot against him, but internal strife among the Reincarnated Angels.

Uriel had no direct feud with the Lando Family, but if you insisted, the Lando Family had ousted the Windsor Family, dishonoring the Saint George Bloodline.

Saint George referred to Michael, who had a close relationship with Uriel.

Uriel was supporting the Saint George Bloodline out of camaraderie with Michael.

Given angels’ loosely detached attitude toward bloodline descendants, this reasoning didn’t hold much weight. But if Hexuno were aligned with the Lando Family, then the conflict between Lando and Windsor escalated into enmity between Hexuno and Michael—everything suddenly made sense.

So it was like this!

Bedford was elated, his spirits lifted: "Reporting to Lord Uriel, I do indeed possess quite a lot of dirt on the Lando Family, such as Austin..."

"I’m not interested in Austin. Speak of Wayne Lando."

"Wayne Lando is not who he claims to be. He is not a member of the Lando Family but Austin’s son-in-law."

"No, Wayne is indeed a Lando. He looks exactly like Austin. I won’t be mistaken." Queen Sophia insisted.

Fine—whatever makes you happy!

Bedford shrugged, immediately changed his tune, and said merrily: "Wayne Lando slept with his own sister. His personal life is extremely chaotic, his morals utterly depraved, and his character completely bankrupt—such filth belongs in Hell! I’ve always suspected he carries the blood of a devil."

"Impossible!" Uriel refuted immediately.

It was a settled fact that Hexuno had lost his purity because of Wayne, an unchangeable truth, yet for the honor of Heaven, they could by no means allow it to be acknowledged that Wayne carried the blood of a devil.

Even if he truly was one!

"Lord Uriel, I was merely drawing a comparison, not stating outright that he..."

"Comparisons are unacceptable!"

Uriel’s attitude hardened, disdainfully glancing at Bedford: "You have no standing to address me by name—refer to me only as Lord Pedro."

Bedford: "..."

Lord Pride thought the Archangel was far too arrogant!

This attitude—close your eyes and you’d think he was Michael!
