Chapter 1086: Chapter 383: It would be a waste for someone like you not to be a capitalist
Idinis felt a pain in her chest from anger, coldly watching the two getting cozy with each other.
Wayne could be ignored for the time being, he could be taken care of slowly later, but Soskuna had offended the Dark Goddess, death was certain for him.
He hasn’t even become a Subsidiary God yet, and he dares to bad-mouth behind her back, truly, if he became one...
Wait a minute, were those two little bitches also gossiping behind her back?
Idinis narrowed her eyes slightly, feeling it necessary to test this, and if she caught them, hmm, she would confine and discipline them all.
Seeing that Idinis didn’t speak, Soskuna became more arrogant, waving his hand grandly, "Rules only bind mortals, and you, who are willing to comply, will never see the true face of the Goddess."
"So, you think you understand the Goddess?"
Wayne’s eyes lit up, and two trails of hot air burst from his nostrils, "Tell me, what is the Goddess really like in your eyes, you little bitch?"
Soskuna didn’t respond; some things are better thought privately; it wouldn’t be easy to trick him into saying them out loud.
He asserted strongly, "That’s right, I falsely announced the Divine Decree, harnessing the Goddess’s power on Earth for my use, but isn’t this the tacit approval of the Goddess? If she didn’t agree, I couldn’t have done these things. I’m just making reasonable use of the loophole in the rules. I haven’t broken the law, hence I’m innocent."
You would be a waste not being a capitalist!
Wayne secretly commented, yet another insectoid who sets fire to warehouses.
"As for you..."
Soskuna looked at Wayne, "You’re pretty good, I’m also clear about your purpose of existence. Both you and I are competitors for the role of the Goddess’s Subsidiary God; this path is destined to have only one person reach the pinnacle..."
"I’m ahead of you, you have no chance!"
Soskuna’s tone became gradually cold, by the end of his speech, with a flip of his hand, the Twilight Deadlock was suddenly in his grasp: "This is the power of the God-chosen Knight, neither of us is God’s Chosen, but my rank is above you."
"So that’s how it is, it was you who killed... no, devoured Vizi," Wayne said.
"She just grasped her own future!"
Soskuna sneered repeatedly, with a black glow in his hand, he engaged in a fight with Wayne.
The Darkness surged and spread out, two figures interweaving back and forth, swiftly creating countless afterimages like lightning.
Wayne didn’t use any other Godchosen Artifacts, holding two Dragon Tooth Swords in his hands, the Philosopher’s Stone clenched in his mouth, eight black tentacles danced behind his back, resembling a multi-armed demon god, with each tentacle tip morphing into pure dark weapon forms.
There were spears, swords, axes, shields, and also two longbows being drawn alternately on both sides.
The two figures faced off fiercely, Wayne, with the power of the Philosopher’s Stone, endlessly escalated his combat strength, drawing upon the entire airspace of the Dark Pontiff Headquarters and, like Ludwig, turned the Life Force Field into a feigned Life Domain.
On the other side, Soskuna was a genuine Demigod, and a powerful one eligible to compete for the Subsidiary God role at that. Because he wasn’t able to fully descend, he couldn’t fully utilize the Life Domain, but could only forcefully elevate Cain’s Life Force Field to the level of the Life Domain by influencing him.
Soskuna’s thoughts descended more and more, his power expansively increasing like an unceasing source.
Wayne, fighting and not showing urgency, used the Philosopher’s Stone to constrain the battle’s residual ripples within the Sage’s Great Hall, lest a passing member of the Dark Church be affected.
He felt quite a good impression of the Dark Church and subconsciously chose to protect them.
It was absolutely not because, by protecting these people, he could curry favor with Anastasia and then have Moonlight coquettishly unlock a few new positions.
Really not, the illustration gallery was all unlocked, and the double rows had been played several times already.
Wayne was not in a hurry; the more Soskuna fought, the more alarmed he became. Every time he increased his power, descended more thoughts, Wayne could keep up, which gave him an ominous premonition.
If he pressed on recklessly, he would definitely suffer a great loss and surrender his advantage readily.
Boom!!
Terrifying energy surged, colliding with a deafening noise, and the Sage’s Great Hall was leveled to the ground. Only the statues of the two Subsidiary Gods and the mural of the Dark Goddess stood solemnly alone.
The overflowing shock waves were blocked by the surrounding walls of Darkness; the Philosopher’s Stone concealed the battlefield, preventing the Followers from detecting the changes.
In the air, free-floating energies chaotically intertwined, occasionally sparking black electric arcs.
Soskuna, holding the Twilight Deadlock, wore an expression of vigilance.
"How come, not fighting anymore?"
Wayne, with eight dark tentacles dancing behind his back, raised an eyebrow, "Put more effort in, I’m barely keeping up, descend just a bit more thought and you could win..."
"If it’s about descending your true form, then congratulations, you’ve got it steady!"
"It seems you’re very confident in your trump card..."
Soskuna muttered, with an upheaval of red light in his eyes, "I’m also very confident in my trump card..."
As he spoke, Soskuna’s thoughts swiftly retreated, along the spatial passage, in quantities, back to the Dark Divine Kingdom.
Wayne frowned, noticing that behind Soskuna, another spatial passage opened; amidst the boundless Darkness, several figures stood, tall and short, each with different forms.
"This is my Divine Realm, unlike you, isolated and weak. I’ve never been fighting alone!"
Soskuna threw the Twilight Deadlock towards the sky, and a shadow hidden in the Darkness stepped through the spatial passage, its afterimage distorted as it passed the spatial barrier, and only the descended thought came to rest upon the ruins of the Sage’s Great Hall.
This wisp of thought tightly clutched the Twilight Deadlock, the Blacklight Armor cloaked it, reshaping an energy shell for it.
Wayne looked at the face of the arrival in surprise: "Vizi, the former Dark Knight... you’re not dead?"
"Do you understand now? I’ve been complying with the rules set by the Goddess, only with her consent can I obtain what I want... including the Goddess’s Knight."
