Chapter 1085: Chapter 382 Darkness Subsidiary Gods: The Listener, The Avenger, Devourer_4
"Storm and Thunder..."
"Devourer..."
Wayne’s eyes gleamed with enlightenment, roughly grasping the situation.
The Dark Goddess had two Subsidiary Gods. The aspirant ’Devourer’ Soskuna, lacking in intrinsic power, set his sights on Sarosia and Set.
Mainly Set.
Sarosia had her Information Laws taken away early in the Faith War, drastically weakening her to the point where she could only gnash her teeth and puff up her fur when faced with a handsome aggressor at her door, unable to maintain even the most basic dignity of the Sky Goddess. The little power she retained was negligible.
Soskuna intended to devour the Storm and Thunder to augment himself, and found the Great Sage Cain, whose success only grew as he was metaphorically fed more "soup and pancakes," eventually turning him into a lapdog.
After that...
Wayne became uncertain, unclear about the role Vizi played in it.
She died, presumably a victim.
With the truth about to completely surface, Wayne glanced at Idinis beside him, tasked by the Dark Goddess to straighten out The Church and the Divine Nation.
The latter he couldn’t manage yet, lacking the power, presumably meant to teach a lesson to the fire-setting Soskuna.
Very well, since you play this way, don’t blame me for striking harshly, destroying the soon-to-be third Subsidiary God!
A murderous light flashed through Wayne’s eyes. He had no personal grievance with Soskuna, but he was highly displeased with the Dark Goddess’s manipulations. His appearance fee was steep; if he had to investigate, be prepared for bankruptcy.
Boom!!
An almost tangible Life Force Field spread out, leveling the surrounding columns and statues, and knocking the seductive Idinis into the air.
As she hung midair, the corners of her mouth curled into a faint smile.
The forcefully expanded Life Force Field surged forward to Cain, the Black Python hissing silently, its Life Domain flickering in and out, magnifying Cain’s Life Force Field through the realm of a Demigod, lifting its potency to boundless heights.
With a loud bang, Wayne stepped back three paces.
’Cain’ staggered back continuously until he reached the altar, where he stopped with his back against the statue of a Subsidiary God.
His eyes emitted two scarlet beams as he sneered: "Impressive strength; among Legendary Mages, you are unrivaled. Should you achieve the status of a Demigod and control part of the Laws, you would qualify as a Subsidiary God."
Despite the admiring words, each word was tinged with killing intent.
Soskuna admired Wayne. Even in his days as a Legendary Mage, he was never as formidable as Wayne. Out of genuine respect, he vowed to utterly destroy Wayne’s physical and mental faculties today.
"Roar, roar, roar!!!"
Cain spread his arms and an endless Darkness spread from his body, the terrifying energy forming a rapidly expanding black sphere.
Where the black light corroded, other than the two Subsidiary Gods and the Dark Goddess’s mural, the entire Sage’s Great Hall was devoured, the despairing black light signifying the Dark’s inclusivity as well as the Devourer’s desires.
Wayne struggled to maintain the Life Force Field, barely holding the balance. With a wave of his hand, Twilight Deadlock transformed into a black light and came slashing down, his fingers flipping the Greatsword directly downward.
"What?!"
Soskuna was taken aback, not expecting Wayne to control the Twilight Deadlock, catching him off guard.
Swoosh!
The black sphere shattered in response, and a vertical line spread from top to bottom, splitting the scene.
Wayne’s Life Force Field morphed, splitting at the sides, the front transforming into long spear-like projectiles, shooting down with extreme speed.
Wayne stepped forward, his intense gaze bursting forth as he slammed his fist, splitting the obstructing Darkness and covering Soskuna’s head in a blast, leaving a smoking residue and flesh in disarray.
The bloody, skull-like head, paired with the smoky hairstyle, was strikingly similar to that of a Death Knight.
Black light flashed instantly, and Wayne had already reached Soskuna, Twilight Deadlock unabated, chopping directly at the blood-soaked forehead.
Soskuna’s hand opened, his palm wrapped in black light, his fingers expanded infinitely before Wayne’s eyes.
After a brief mental clash, Wayne broke through the confusion, making Twilight Deadlock even quicker.
Bang!
Soskuna gripped the blade with his fingers, his knees trembling under horrific pressure, his legs sinking into the dark soil up to his knees.
After a series of failed attacks, Soskuna felt utterly humiliated, and with a roar, his body suddenly swelled.
Black electric arcs flickered, enveloping Soskuna completely, resembling a massive radiation source, with Thunder and Storm continuously bursting forth.
The potent energy met Wayne’s Life Stance and disappeared without a trace.
Soskuna saw this scene as the Dark’s inclusivity, subtly detecting the scent of the Devourer, alertness and killing intent peaking in his mind.
This man has walked the same path as me; he too may bear the name of the Devourer.
Suddenly, black light flashed, Wayne’s grip loosening as he was surprised to find the Twilight Deadlock transported away, facing the approaching black hand head-on, his heated gaze clashing with the violent heat and Darkness, flipping the entire Sage’s Great Hall with a boom.
"Devourer, with conclusive evidence of your guilt, do you still wish to resist?"
Idinis loudly scolded, standing by Wayne’s side: "The Goddess has already made a new choice; you are doomed not to become a Subsidiary God. Give up now. The Goddess detests evil yet possesses a generous nature; she is kind-hearted and will surely give you a chance to reform."
"How ludicrous, you don’t understand the Goddess at all; Darkness is not so compassionate. She is far more ruthless than you imagine," Soskuna retorted.
"Pfft!"
Wayne chuckled, saying exuberantly: "That’s an understated assessment; she’s just bad news."
"Eh, you think so too?" Soskuna said, surprised.
Idinis: (눈‸눈)
She said it, Soskuna can’t become a Subsidiary God, nothing will work!
