Chapter 1048: Chapter 373: In Short, I Contribute, Everyone Earns_3

The Pope was preparing to leave the God-chosen Continent and head to the Divine Nation to create more glory. Everyone knew this, so they were not surprised by Ludwig’s silence.

The more the Pope was silent, the more power he delegated, which was good for everyone.

"Since no one is speaking, let me start."

Weiwen put on an act and began by discussing the work of developing followers. He first affirmed the foundations in Austria and Prussia before shifting the topic to Prussia’s rapid expansion.

Anyone with eyes could see that Prussia would not stop its conquests. Surrounded by the powerful nations of Windsor and Frank, with the inactive Ross Federation, Prussia’s situation was far from ideal.

To break out of the encirclement, Prussia could either sweep north into the Ross Federation or annihilate Frank and Windsor to the west.

In terms of geography, Frank and Windsor were the first choices. A two-front battle was unlikely.

"I know the defensive line of Frank very well, it will be hard for Prussia to break through," Weiwen said. "Prussia is in a deadlock. Our involvement with Prussia in the Naturalism Church may not be a good thing."

Pope Ludwig’s eyelids twitched as he cast a questioning glance at Weiwen, his sharp political senses picking up on something.

This meeting won’t end well, today someone is going to target him.

He scanned the room, Tubie feigned death, Dusa bowed her head, and Gavin seemed confounded, staring blankly into space.

All four Divine Oracle High Priests, aside from Weiwen speaking loudly, the other three appeared indifferent.

Interesting!

Ludwig straightened his posture and smiled, "Weiwen, in your opinion, what should be the path forward for the Naturalism Church?"

"We have grown too close to Prussia; it might seem beneficial for expanding our faith in the short term, but not really. The moment Prussia’s march halts or if they must retreat, our Church’s situation could plummet. I propose reducing our ties with Prussia to avoid dragging the Church into war."

"Well said, you have the makings of a Pope, I am very optimistic about you," Ludwig chuckled.

"Ah this..."

Weiwen’s tongue tied, almost leaning towards the Pope, then he remembered that night’s ambush, which reinforced his determination to overthrow him.

"I don’t think so!"

Another Divine Oracle High Priest, Makarai, spoke up, his tone sarcastic, "From what I know, Weiwen was very close to Prussia recently. His sudden disassociation might be for personal benefits. Individual interests are separate; the Church belongs to us all, Weiwen’s suggestion is invalid."

"Makarai, you also make a good point, you would be more suited as Pope," Ludwig nodded deeply in agreement.

That dreadful old man, playing peacemaker!

The three other Divine Oracle High Priests cursed internally upon realizing Ludwig’s true colors, causing Weiwen to slam his hands on the table and stand up.

"Your Holiness, I have received an anonymous letter, which mentions numerous collaborations between you and the Prussian Upper Echelons, each drenched in blood and detrimental to the Church’s reputation. I hope you can explain this," Beck said sternly.

Weiwen: (눈_눈)

What’s going on? Isn’t that my line?

Before Weiwen could speak, Beck had stolen his lines. Watching Makarai echo him, adding fuel to the fire, Weiwen was even more baffled.

His heart tightened, suspecting Saina had not only set him up to be beheaded, but had also taken Beck and Makarai as her dogs.

What does this mean, letting the three of them compete, keeping whoever performs the best?

Suddenly, Weiwen remembered a loophole in Saina’s oath—right, Saina wouldn’t shake his position and power, but that didn’t apply to Beck and Makarai.

Such a ruthless woman!

Weiwen panicking grabbed the microphone from Beck, arrayed tens of accusations against Ludwig with fierce words and firm attitude, leaving Beck and Makarai unable to respond.

Both were dumbfounded, not remembering forming an alliance with Weiwen.

What are you doing? x2

It wasn’t me, I did nothing. x2

Though unsure what had gotten into Weiwen, as assistance was welcome, the two joined in criticizing Ludwig mercilessly amid mounting evidence.

"..."x4

Gavin, bewildered, could not understand what had happened.

Tubie and Dusa exchanged glances, choosing to stay silent while Saina slightly frowned, suspecting Weiwen and Beck, and Makarai were colluding, asking Wayne what to do.

"Let’s wait and see; the agitation of the three Divine Oracle High Priests is good for us."

Wayne indicated not to worry, not to worry, quoting, "The deceased is like this, ceaselessly drifting day and night."

Directly put, Saina didn’t understand, it translates to: Patiently sitting by the river, waiting for the bodies of the enemy to float.

The mighty child didn’t rush into the river for a fight, but instead waited patiently by the riverside each day, watching the enemy’s bodies one by one floating by.

The three High Priests had much to say, with incontrovertible evidence up in their faces, ending in the tone of "Child of the Beach."

Such a Child of the Beach, not only expressing their anger towards the Pope but also indirectly reflecting their helplessness in the situation, vividly depicting the characters’ psychology, and showcasing their development, also playing a crucial role in bridging the narrative.

Ludwig watched the three fools, the evidence were true, indeed he had done those.

But what of it?

In impolite terms, he wasn’t targeting anyone in particular; he wouldn’t even furrow his brow if everyone here charged at him all at once.

Saina was an exception.

His biggest fear was the enemy supported by the Naturalist Knight Wayne from behind.

"Ludwig, we’ve said so much, don’t you want to offer a defense?"
