Chapter 1049: Chapter 373: In Short, I Contribute, Everyone Earns_4

"You deliberately frame me, not worrying about finding a charge. Anything I say is useless, there’s no point in arguing. If I must speak, let me give everyone present one piece of advice..."

Ludwig lost his smile and said expressionlessly, "I am the Pope!"

The statement left Weiwen and the others speechless. Regardless of the future, Ludwig was now the Pope, holding absolute power.

"Ludwig, you are not a devout Pope," Tubie slowly began.

"Ah, the Great Prophet joins the fray too?"

Ludwig curiously asked, "Tell me, what prophecy do you plan to twist today?"

"It’s not a distortion but a genuine prophecy. I have seen the future. The Church is heading towards destruction under your command, you have sacrificed everyone to the Devil," Tubie said coldly.

"Great Prophet, I can accept Darkness and Death, but I have never dealt with the devils of Hell!"

Ludwig’s expression grew colder, "Fabricating lies should be based on reality. I can tolerate your defamation, but I cannot tolerate your ignorance."

"The Great Prophet is not lying, I too have received a Divine Decree. The current Pope is a pawn of the Devil. The Devil’s Container in Prussia has an inseparable connection with the current Pope," Dusa said weakly.

She then lowered her head.

"..."

Beck and Makarai were shocked. After days of calculation, they never expected everyone to turn against Ludwig.

They weren’t naive enough to believe that everyone present was an ally. After a brief thought, they guessed it was a long-planned scheme and instinctively looked towards Weiwen, suspecting him of colluding with the Great Prophet and the Holy Maiden.

Weiwen, having no fondness for rivals, snorted to indicate his tough stance.

Seeing this, both became even more convinced that everything was Weiwen’s secret sabotage.

"As the Pope of the Naturalism Church, who is about to step into the Divine Nation with a vast future nearly within reach, there’s no way I would ally with the Devil of Hell. Let’s not speak of such nonsense again; today will be as if it never happened."

The situation was somewhat out of control. Ludwig was inwardly angry, blaming himself for recently showing goodwill toward the Insectoids.

"Ludwig, some things are better clarified," Saina spoke up.

"Saina, you’re joining in too?"

"No, I speak for the reputation of the Pope and for the future of the entire Naturalism Church."

Saina said calmly, "Both the Great Prophet and the Holy Maiden have received prophecies and Divine Decrees. This matter is not simple. To prevent distrust, and constant suspicion about His Holiness the Pope, it’s better to clear up the misunderstanding today."

Saina gave a slight smile. What ill intent could she have? It was all just the master’s task.

"High Priestess Saina speaks sensibly; we must clarify things today!"

Weiwen immediately raised his voice, "Ludwig, what about the prophecy and Divine Decree? Explain yourself. What does being a pawn of the Devil mean? Who do you really serve?"

"Absurd!"

Ludwig rose to his feet, sweeping his gaze over everyone, "Have you had enough? I will leave the God-chosen Continent. The position of Pope will inevitably fall into your hands; there’s no need to rush. You should consider who the next Pope will be."

Makes sense! x3

"Although that’s true, when do you plan to enter the Divine Nation?" Saina asked faintly.

You make more sense! x3

Weiwen and the others stared intently at Ludwig. Beck spoke up, "You say you’re leaving, having mentioned it for nearly a year now. During this time, you’ve been strengthening cooperation with Prussia. What’s really going on? Has Prussia made deals with the Devil? Are you the one facilitating this?"

"How dare you!"

Ludwig’s low shout echoed, his magic power surged, and a vast and unmatched spiritual pressure suddenly burst forth.

The azure sky changed dramatically. Ripple Lake’s surface stirred up shocking waves. Upon the columns, cracking noises erupted, black slender snakes swiftly moved about, occasionally shedding several fragments.

Everyone blinked, feeling a delusion as if the entire sky shook with Ludwig.

Under this immense pressure, they felt like solitary boats on a vast sea, bobbing up and down in the tremendous waves stirred by a storm, suddenly facing an impending tsunami that threatened to shatter them into pieces.

Their minds went blank, their bodies forgot how to breathe, and their thoughts suffocated, almost collapsing in exhaustion.

Now, the disparity in their cultivation realms was evident.

Weiwen, Beck, and Makarai looked the worst, their faces alternating between pale and flushing, barely able to breathe.

Tubie and Gavin furrowed their brows, clearly distressed, but not too badly harmed; Dusa...

Well, she was unharmed, feeling nothing.

In a high-level encounter, she, merely a Silver Mage, had no place there, completely unable to perceive how powerful Ludwig was.

Saina’s eyes shone brilliantly: "Your Holiness, your power seems not just that of a Legendary Mage. Is there indeed something wrong with you?"

Saina, filled to the brim by Wayne, froth nearly spilling over, avoided the strong oppression without any impact.

In the compressed package she received, those who exhibited such behavior as Ludwig were, without exception, God-chosen Knights from the Inverted World.

Indirectly, Ludwig seemed even stronger than the Sun Knight, William.

This was not right!

In the Inverted World, she had killed the high echelons of the Church to become the New Pope, including Ludwig. If Ludwig were truly this powerful, she, who had just obtained the Elemental Mantra, could not possibly have won.

Over the past two years, something had changed in Ludwig.

"Your Holiness, you have slipped up!"

"Saina, the surprising one is you. You have actually witnessed power beyond legend..."

Ludwig narrowed his eyes, his fear of the God-chosen Knights deepening.

Realizing his exposure, his eyes flashed with a dark light, his fingers raised, sealing the entire space of the Naturalism Church, "You betray the Church, plotting to assassinate the Pope..."

"None of you will escape today!!"
