Chapter 1047: Chapter 373: In Short, I Contribute, Everyone Earns_2

"I don’t think you have..."

"Stop pressuring, with a new Pope in place, there has to be a staunch Divine Oracle High Priest supporting her, or how would she govern the Naturalism Church?" Weiwen waved his hand, and as soon as the character for ’arrange’ was formed, his voice grew much louder.

"If anything has to be said, we lack someone to step forward and question the Pope. Every topic needs a starting point, doesn’t it?" Saina put forth her demand.

"Well said!" Tubie agreed wholeheartedly.

Dusa had no right to speak and only mentally noted her approval of Weiwen.

The Divine Oracle High Priest was now qualified to be the scapegoat.

"What do you mean?"

"You will lead this matter and accuse Ludwig, the Great Prophet, and the Holy Maiden of moral corruption and scandalous behavior, having committed sins that have outraged both gods and men. He is unfit to be Pope and then elect me in his place," Saina said with a smile.

"Then I’m as good as dead..."

Weiwen couldn’t help but laugh sarcastically, "All of you hide behind me while I’m at the very front; in the end, it looks like I’m still headed down a dead-end street."

"You can also refuse and go find Ludwig now. I won’t stop you."

"Saina, you think you’ve got me all figured out?"

"What else, look at the Great Prophet and the Holy Maiden; they haven’t resisted either."

"..."

Weiwen looked at the two of them. The Mandrill sighed in despair, and Dusa was on the verge of tears, both utterly powerless to resist.

What act are you two putting on? Do you really think I’m an idiot?

Weiwen wanted to say something more, but Saina’s expression turned cold, "I have the support of the Naturalist Knights; with or without you, this will be successful. If you’re willing, sit down; if not, leave as you please."

"Fine!!"

Weiwen practically spat out the word. Saina was confronting Ludwig, and he had to take a side between the two powers; otherwise, as third in line, he would be the worst off in a feud between the top two.

Ludwig wanted him dead, but with Saina, there was at least a slight chance of survival.

"Welcome to our ranks, Priest Weiwen." Saina lifted her juice and took another sip.

She hadn’t let go, the glass nearly becoming encrusted with her fingerprints.

"Don’t rush to pop the champagne; I have my own demands too!"

Weiwen spoke in a low voice, "I’m taking such a huge risk; if you go back on your word after success, I’ll be left with no options. You need to give me an explanation now."

"Very well."

Saina set down her juice with a serious tone, "In the presence of the Great Prophet and the Holy Maiden, I swear to the Nature Goddess that once we’ve succeeded, I will never touch your status or powers. If I break this oath, may the Goddess forsake me, may the Divine Nation shut its gates to me forever, and may I fall into The Void for all eternity."

Tubie and Dusa were both shocked; that was a dangerously potent oath.

Looking back at Weiwen, they both changed their view of him, seeing him as a partner and one of their own.

Weiwen never imagined Saina would play so hard, daring to make such a ruthless oath.

He silently cursed her madness and felt reassured in his heart, "Alright, since you’ve made a promise, I won’t let you down either. I’ll lead from the front."

"Don’t worry, I will be in attendance that day too. I won’t leave you to face it all by yourself," Saina assured.

"That’s a relief to hear."

Weiwen wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. The risk was great, but the reward greater. He had finally squeezed his way into this team, securing both his life and his interests.

"What are you waiting for? Go ahead and pop the champagne!"

Naturalism Church Headquarters.

Like all major regional headquarters, the headquarters of the Naturalism Church wasn’t located on the God-chosen Continent, but existed in an independent space, coinciding with the coordinates of Austria.

By the way, apart from the deeply entrenched Papal State, the other Church factions had a similar setup.

The Dark Church’s headquarters was situated in the Ross Federation, while the Sun and Moonlight Churches were neighbors, both located on the west coast of the Aegean Sea in Greece.

The Death Church...

Unknown, heaven knows where it’s moved to now, nearly cut off from the world and without any major movements for a long time.

As if it were dead.

But back to the main topic, from afar, the space where the headquarters of the Naturalism Church lay, continuous mountain ranges stretched on with lush trees and colorful flowers covering the landscape from near to far.

The architectural complex of the Naturalism Church Headquarters nestled among the mountains, with numerous white halls built by magic engineering teams, so magnificent and splendid that they were incomparable to any structures in the human world.

Next to these here, the humble dwellings of Lundan would look like they came from the countryside, inferior even in begging.

Forests, lakes, rivers, white halls dotted among them, brimming with green vitality and fragrant flowers, creating a peaceful and harmonious balance of beauty.

Being there, one could experience not only the grandeur and wonder of nature but also the true essence of life that the Naturalism Church cherished, an ideal retreat from worldly noise.

Unfortunately, where there are people, there are disputes, and with more people, worldly noise inevitably follows.

The council chamber.

The azure dome was clear as the sky, and the amber round lake caused ripples in the breeze, with white pillars reaching from the ground to the sky, sustaining a fantastical space.

Between the merging blues of sky and lake, a ten-meter white long table stood with several high-backed white chairs spaced along it.

The high-ranking members of the Naturalism Church gathered for a routine meeting to discuss various matters.

Today’s meeting concerned the powers of the several Divine Oracle High Priests and wasn’t about trivial matters like the selection of a Holy Maiden; hence, everyone was present in their true forms.

Pope Ludwig, Great Prophet Tubie, Holy Maiden Dusa.

Following them were the four Divine Oracle High Priests: Saina, Beck, Weiwen, and Makarai, with the long-out-of-sight Vice Commander Gavin also attending today’s meeting.

Wayne was there too, within Saina.

They were not confined to any corner, evenly distributed throughout.

As usual, Ludwig chaired the meeting, said a few words for the opening, received a sparse round of applause, and then, dropping the documents in his hand, he began to rest with his eyelids drooping.
