Chapter 1037: Chapter 370: Worthy of being the Divine Oracle High Priest, You Are Too Strong_4
He let out a mournful cry, swept his hand to snap the black whip, tearing the serpent into tatters. Before he could wave Odilia away, he saw her figure dart back like a streak of black lightning, leaving a trail of afterimages behind.
Regina and Odilia swapped positions with incredible coordination. She drew the thin sword from behind Odilia, attempting to repeat the move and add two more gaping holes to Weiwen’s body.
The whispering in his ear was too sinister. With three devils, each more troublesome than the last, Weiwen couldn’t discern if they had any hidden cards left. He thought to himself that if he didn’t leave now, he might never get the chance.
He waved his hand to split the Life Force Field, keeping Wayne and the other two at a significant distance, and with resentment, he left behind the fierce words, "I will come back," before vanishing on the spot.
The Life Force Field dissipated after a mere five seconds, followed by the disappearance of the Cubic Barrier.
When Wayne "came to his senses" and led the two Succubi in pursuit, Weiwen was already nowhere to be found.
"He sure ran fast!"
Wayne stamped his foot on the ground, grumbling, "What a great opportunity, how could we let him escape!"
Saying this, he blamed Odilia and Regina for their ineptitude, deeming tonight’s operation a failure, and held them chiefly responsible.
Both women rolled their eyes in unison. Serving as little sisters was not easy, they had to bear the brunt of responsibility even when they were just performing their parts.
"The Church headquarters are nearby, Weiwen could call in a large force to surround us at any moment," Odilia said. "We better leave quickly to avoid getting trapped."
"Fine, let’s return to base and report. Then we can reformulate the assassination plan."
Keeping to full role-play, Wayne didn’t care if there were onlookers, insisting that the two secretaries finish their scripted final lines, carrying on the act until the end.

Alleyway.
Three black figures leisurely emerged.
Regina looked at the silver-white thin sword in her hands, breathed on it, and started wiping it with her sleeve, while pondering the generosity of nature.
Hearing this, an envious Odilia quickly retorted, "That sword was just stabbed into my back, it’s my spoils of victory."
"How could it be? Your name isn’t written on it."
Regina hugged the thin sword to her chest, unwavering, "Besides, there was also a sword stuck in my back which you picked up. One can’t be too greedy, you already have one."
Now you’re being smart, aren’t you! x2
Odilia pouted and turned to Wayne.
As a literary girl who didn’t wish to be a stubborn and unreasonable girlfriend, she wouldn’t have Wayne snatch the sword and give it to her. But that didn’t stop her from staring straight at Wayne, waiting for him to proactively ask Regina for the sword and then present it to her.
If she demanded it, it’d be one thing, but for Wayne, it wouldn’t be mere snatching. It would be Regina willingly offering it up to her boss.
"Boss, boss, with your vast wealth, you surely wouldn’t take something from your subordinate to give to your girlfriend, right?" Regina stepped forward, breaking Odilia’s line of vision and pleadingly spoke.
As Resentful Spirits and as Succubus Secretaries, though Odilia had the girlfriend advantage and was bound to become the one holding the whip at bedtimes, Regina knew she couldn’t compete and thus played the pity card to garner sympathy.
"You’re overthinking it. I’m a very decent person, not that kind of man."
Wayne rolled his eyes and pulled a Dragon Tooth Sword from his Personal Space, handing it to Odilia.
As she joyfully accepted it, he held her tender hand and said affectionately, "Odilia, this Dragon Tooth Sword is exceedingly precious, unique in this world. Take it for self-defense and be sure to keep yourself safe."
Odilia’s heart swelled with joy; unique in this world meant it was exclusively hers, a privilege earned.
Now it was Regina’s turn to be envious. She compared the Dragon Tooth Sword with the silver-white thin sword and stepped forward, batting her eyelashes, "Boss, we’re both secretaries, you can’t play favorites!"
"Isn’t this meant for a girlfriend? Do you still want it?" Odilia interjected.
Regina deflated immediately, struggling to articulate a response: "Boss, I’m incredibly loyal to you, but business is business, and personal life should be separate. Mixing the two wouldn’t be conducive to work, right?"
"Not necessarily, look at Secretary Mona, she manages both without issue," said Odilia.
Hey, something’s off with you!
Regina’s eyes widened as she caught the implication in those words; Odilia was trying to pull her into an alliance to deepen their sisterly bond.
A blush crept onto Odilia’s face as she turned away, having been caught off guard by her own blurted words, which even she found outrageous.
When it came down to it, the pressure she felt from Saina, stunning and flawless, made it hard for her to breathe.
Knowing she couldn’t outmatch her in quality, she could only compete in numbers. As secretaries, she saw Regina as an excellent candidate: far better to partner with the companion she spent her days with than the aloof Mona.
Especially since Regina had a twin sister, a partnership too promising to find even with a lantern.
Wayne remained silent, his gaze fixed on the abandoned factory ahead, considering the feasibility of investigating inside.
"Boss, aren’t we risking alarming the ’snake’?"
"The snake is already startled and fled. If we don’t go now, the grass will be gone tomorrow," Wayne deliberated before deciding to make the trip.
It was unreasonable to leave when thieves had cleared the place.
"You two stay here and don’t move. I’ll be right back."
Wayne strode toward the abandoned factory building: "If you encounter danger, connect with me telepathically, and don’t be reckless."
