Chapter 1038: Chapter 371: Advancing to Legendary Mage

The abandoned factory held more mysteries than met the eye, serving as a processing plant for Void Soldiers and covering an expansive area.

It was Wayne’s first visit, and he was a bit lost.

Fortunately, it wasn’t a big issue. Thinking on his feet and using his excellent eloquence and a charming smile, he quickly blended in with the NPCs.

"Hey, did you see those Prussian officers?"

"Ah, looks like we have to work overtime again."

"Excuse me, friend, did you see those Prussian officers?"

"I can’t find my coffee cup, can you help me look for it?"

"Manager, did you see those Prussian officers?"

"Some strange fellows came to the factory today."

"Uh, I mean..."

"Some strange fellows came to the factory today."

"..."

Rolling his eyes, Wayne left the office. His thinking was too advanced, causing logical confusion among the NPCs and rendering them unable to provide any credible intelligence.

Fortunately, it wasn’t a big issue. At the end of the corridor, he took a turn and arrived deep within the processing plant, where he encountered a group of Prussian officers.

According to the intelligence sent by Regina, among these officers, two were referred to as generals by Weiwen, who was quite respectful towards them—likely the specialized heads of the collaborative project and possessing significant status within the Prussian upper echelons.

The factory machines roared, and large amounts of steam lingered in the corners of the workshop. Mists formed on the ceiling into droplets, occasionally turning into foam and dripping onto the floor.

Inside the factory building, the janitors responsible for cleaning the foam were busier than the tireless machines.

Wayne glanced at the steel machinery and muttered about the bizarre situation. It was still unclear whether machinery could be integrated with human flesh, but the combination of machinery and the Void had become a reality.

Weiwen and the Prussian upper echelons had joined forces to break the technological barriers, creating a production line for Void Soldiers. Although the quality couldn’t compare to the Dragonblood Soldiers crafted by the Windsor Magic Department, they had a clear numerical advantage.

One was crafted by hand, the other by assembly line—there was no comparison.

Wayne did not rush to converge with the officers but stood in front of the production line observing the Void Soldiers. Through his telepathic senses, these soldiers, bred from the flesh of Star Beasts, had empty minds but were unexpectedly docile and did not spread external corruption.

This was ridiculous!

After thorough checks, Wayne concluded that these Void Soldiers were like eggs, controlled by a mother entity, not possessing independent will.

By controlling the mother entity, one could control these emotionless super soldiers.

From the perspective of the Magic Realm, Wayne believed that Weiwen was cutting corners with the Prussian upper echelons and suspected financial mishandling. From the standpoint of the official state, this project held great strategic significance—even if used as cannon fodder, they could sweep Frank’s top army in the world.

He couldn’t let this factory operate unchecked; it must be destroyed!

Silently applauding himself, Wayne, under the guise of the Party Guard Corps, had not only made Weiwen’s conflict with the other Divine Oracle High Priests apparent today but had also stirred the cooperation between Weiwen and Prussia.

Before the misunderstanding was resolved, Weiwen wouldn’t relinquish control of the mother entity.

Not now, nor ever.

With a smirk, Wayne quickly caught up to the group of officers, tapped the shoulder of the last soldier, and borrowed a leopard skin cloak.

Their military uniforms really did look sharp!

The factory manager introduced the daily output of the production line to the two generals, stating that with adequate funding, production could triple. In case the Empire faced a manpower shortage in its global conquest, these Void Soldiers would be their most reliable allies.

At this, the manager belittled two other projects, Mechanical Integration and Devil’s Container.

As heads of the projects, the two generals shared the manager’s view, nodding in agreement and affirming that Devil’s Container and Mechanical Integration were perverse paths, and the Void was the eternal truth.

Wayne was somewhat unable to watch anymore, muttered under his breath, and used the foam to contaminate the manager and the two generals, rummaging through their memories to retrieve precise firsthand intelligence.

"Prussian Secretive Technology Development Bureau, affiliated with the Party Guard Corps logistical support division, non-armed forces, specialized research department..."

"Headquarters located in the Prussian capital, Berlin..."

"Devil’s Container and Mechanical Integration have achieved significant breakthroughs, hence the special trip to inspect the progress..."

"Hisss, they actually managed to do it!"

Wayne’s scalp tingled with the prowess displayed by Prussia; Devil’s Container’s breakthrough was expected as Hell Studies were part of magic, but Mechanical Integration was a product crossing eras, contradicting all current magical theories.

"Mechanical and Magic integration... There’s really something there!"

Wayne was eager to try; he meticulously examined the memories of the two generals. However, due to professional mismatches, they didn’t oversee the Mechanical Integration project and knew too little to provide the information Wayne sought.

He pondered for a moment and then commanded the two men, "August, Fein, after you return to Berlin, spread the corruption and aim to take down the entire Secretive Technology Development Bureau. Once successful, Pope Weiwen will reward you substantially."

Saying this, he scooped up a layer of foam from the ground and smeared it on the faces of the two men.

With a tremor in his thoughts, he activated the parasitic ability of the foam, concealing his own traces, and conveniently blamed everything on Weiwen.

Superagents operate like this, always ensuring their identity remains undisclosed.

Though Wayne did not receive precise intelligence from the two generals, he managed to get the password for the safe from the manager. Leaving the production line factory, he headed straight to the manager’s office.
