Chapter 1011: Chapter 364: Newcomer on Duty_2
Betrayal was impossible, for she had long since abandoned that notion.
Idinis furrowed her brow, "Wayne, are you sure her Corruption is complete? Her personality hasn’t completely twisted."
"I desire a Goddess, not a slave. I allow her to retain her own will, not to be a vase that has loyalty but no capacity for thought," Wayne stated truthfully.
Regardless, Sarosia was once the Sky Goddess, and the due respect had to be given.
Since she was already Corrupted, betrayal was impossible. Under these circumstances, loosening restrictions slightly could stimulate ambition and foster beneficial friction within the team.
In other words, leadership left room for initiative, prompting action from those below.
"I see, you are training her!" Idinis realized.
"It’s called management."
Wayne snorted. Wise individuals perceive wisdom differently, and given the Dark Goddess’s wicked sense of humor, everything seemed like training to her.
He reassured Sarosia, "Rest assured, serving me as a dog might be oppressive, yet it guarantees a worry-free life. You can maintain your own will, and I won’t force you to do things you dislike. That is my promise to you, always effective."
Just as Sarosia was about to nod, she heard Idinis chirp, "Not proactive, doesn’t reject, but allows her to initiate; you really are training her."
"Shut up, don’t cause trouble here."
Wayne gave Idinis a look, his defense against this part of the Dark Goddess’s thoughts was exceedingly strict, her Corruption the most thorough, her restraints the most numerous.
Idinis still displayed a facet different from the other familiars.
She wouldn’t openly confront Wayne; she would come when called and was easily directed, a mere gesture could lead her to the bed to tumble three times.
At first glance, there seemed to be no issue, but against other familiars, like Anastasia and Sarosia, she showed a strong aggressive stance.
Wayne attributed this to the Dark Goddess’s nature; since he benefited from the pike effect, it aligned with his leadership’s purpose of stirring up initiative among those below, so he did not stop her.
Idinis was right, management is indeed a kind of KPI!
The vehicle arrived at Holy Maiden Manor; Anastasia in a long dress approached and seeing the newcomer in the back seat, wordlessly glared at Wayne.
There was a peculiar empathy among familiars; Anastasia and Sarosia understood each other’s identities at first glance.
Sarosia: She is also a worker.
Anastasia: Boss, I know your body can take it, but do you really have that much time?
Wayne offered no explanation and sat on the sofa, patting his leg, indicating Anastasia to take her place by the whip.
Idinis stepped up to a premium seat, glared at Anastasia, beckoning her to sit on the edge. The latter, facing her former leader, was careful not to resist.
"Who told you to sit? Stand aside."
The former Dark Knight’s face brought a fresh element, but Wayne wasn’t fickle. Seeing Anastasia being wronged, he immediately grew displeased.
You, a Dark Goddess of low moral quality, what right do you have to be equal to the Dark Saintess? Go cool off somewhere else!
Wayne dismissed the scoffing Idinis and restored Anastasia’s domestic status, introducing them to each other.
Upon learning Sarosia was a Goddess erased from history, Anastasia’s faith deepened, first Darkness then Sky; following this trend, her faith would eventually surpass all other divine beliefs.
Sarosia, shocked, exclaimed, "What, your name is Wayne, aren’t you the Void Lord Bruce?"
"How fresh, who uses their real name when away from home? Besides, back then you wanted to usurp me," Wayne shrugged. Going out with a spare alias is common sense; if you couldn’t grasp that, it’s no wonder you fell in the battle of faith.
Sarosia clenched her fists, angry at her naivety, and turned to Idinis, incredulous, "Idinis, I didn’t expect to meet you here; as far as I know, you have already ascended to the godhood of the Dark Goddess, no longer the former Star Plague."
Idinis, even having become a Goddess, was serving Wayne like a dog; her fall didn’t seem so humiliating after all.
Seeing her old best friend in the same plight brought Sarosia some consolation; with Wayne so powerful, her chances of revenge seemed greater.
It was a good thing, no disgrace to gods.
"Sarosia, you are too naive. Your perspective is limited to the past; you do not understand what the current gods represent. I am merely a strand of Corrupted thought, far from the true Dark Goddess," Idinis spoke with biting sarcasm, finding pleasure in disciplining her former best friend.
"After all that, you’re still just like me!"
"No, I’m not. I dare to sleep with Wayne, do you?"
"...What is there to compare? You’re actually proud of yourself.
You willingly degraded little bitch, I was wrong about you!"
Sarosia dared not reply, deeply despising Idinis, and removed her from her friends list to the category of strangers.
"I forgot to tell you, it was I who guided Wayne to find your place of eternal rest; it was also I who tempted him to set you on this path of Evolution..."
Idinis continued, "Though I didn’t expect you to willingly abandon your pride, you should actually thank me."
Enraged by the words, the friendship’s boat flipped over, sinking like a submarine, Sarosia gritted her teeth, "Boss, I want to challenge her one-on-one."
"Come on, make sure you cry out loud when you get spanked."
"Shut up, don’t talk."
Wayne imposed silence on Idinis, which manifested as her lips sealing together, depriving her of any ability to speak aloud.
