Chapter 1001: Chapter 361 One day, I will change the world_4

What if!

No one wants to die if they can live.

Ahead in the tunnel was an unreachable point of light, while from behind, black tendrils appeared without warning.

The terrible oppression and dense negative information numbed Dreyne’s scalp. Reaching out with both hands, he grabbed William and Philomena, increasing their speed by a fraction.

Wayne, half a step behind, followed closely, his speed not diminishing in the slightest.

Both men moved quickly, but the speed of the black fog behind them was even faster, dimming the world of Kaleidoscope wherever it passed, its shattering mirrored surfaces exploding noise all around.

A matter of life or death!

Fear and unease intertwined within the four of them.

A tentacle emerged from behind Wayne, an eyeball opening at its tip, attempting to discern what kind of life exited at the end of the darkness.

If it was a creature formed purely of negative information, perhaps he could have pinned it to the dining table using The Book of Greed.

It was still unclear who would consume whom!

He could see nothing, only a pair of crimson eyes and a vague, dark silhouette at the end of the Dark Abyss.

It wasn’t a mindless monster made of negative information. As Dreyne said, it was a living being.

Incredibly powerful!!

Wayne faintly heard a voice by his ear, the monster was looking for him because in recent days in the Inverted World he had allowed The Book of Greed to feast without restraint, snatching the monster’s food.

The monster, not having fed enough, wanted to make Wayne its food.

Dreyne had also stolen the negative information, filling an entire bottle. Why didn’t it go after her instead?

Wayne was greatly puzzled. If it was a matter of choosing based on what was on offer, he thought it unfair that honest folk should be targeted, seeing Dreyne’s frantic escape, she was just as much a dish, no better off than he was.

It didn’t matter how much negative information Dreyne had collected; it must be a matter of quality. The Book of Greed did not consume the same dish twice. Perhaps because of this, it had stolen the food that the monster cared about.

Crack!

Crackling—

The sound of glass shattering overtook the four, reaching the distant point of light ahead of them. Seeing this, Wayne split generating a mass of foam, rapidly proliferating and blocking the path behind them.

Black tendrils pierced through the foam, devouring it in an instant.

Wayne, sensing with his mind, lost contact with the foam—it had been eaten, having no chance of parasitizing and proliferating within the other.

Was the creature’s life form so elevated?

Wayne, terror-stricken, abandoned any thought of confrontation and, following his heart, accelerated even more.

The distant point of light grew nearer; having traveled most of the way, Wayne noticed that as they approached the Outer World, vast amounts of blackness overflowed from William and Philomena’s bodies, their bodies containing less and less negative information.

Meanwhile, the red in their eyes faded, their thoughts rationalizing closer to their selves in the Outer World.

Furthermore, their bodies began to turn transparent, reflective like a mirror, casting back light.

Indeed, they couldn’t be taken along!

Wayne had barely any time to sigh when, reaching behind to place his hands on both their backs, he attempted to reshape their physical forms using Corruption.

At that moment, William forcefully broke free from Dreyne’s grasp and, as he passed by Wayne, stepped on him, using him as leverage to increase his own speed, inadvertently speeding up Wayne as well.

Wayne, startled, looked back, seeing a resplendent golden sun.

William, who had voluntarily stayed behind, shed his mirror transformation and, regaining the quasi-strength of a Sun Knight for a few seconds, was swallowed by boundless Darkness.

Wayne’s eyes widened in shock, coming to an abrupt halt.

It seemed Dreyne had anticipated this and reached out to grab Wayne by the neck, dragging him along as they charged forward.

"Don’t do anything foolish, I stand no chance against that creature, and neither would you."

As she spoke, Philomena’s eyes cleared, she voluntarily broke her mirrored arm, leaving it behind and advancing no further.

Wayne, puzzled, looked over and read her lips in the mirror’s reflection.

"I’ve been too disappointing before, I let you down. The me in the Outer World isn’t like this, she’s not much different from William, you shouldn’t see her the way you see me."

With no negative information left, Philomena chose to stay behind, blessing her Outer World self to find happiness.

Four phases of the moon flashed back, followed by a soft sound, then the Darkness engulfed everything.

Boom!!

Before Wayne could react, a blinding light erupted, and Dreyne pulled him through the space tunnel, returning to the Outer World.

The "White Night Purity Words" suspended mid-air dimmed its light; a second before the black tendrils touched the Outer World, the space tunnel collapsed and disappeared.

Everything returned to normal.

Wayne, dumbfounded, stared at the vanished space tunnel, speechless, his fists clenched tightly.

After a long while, he stiffly spoke, "Dreyne, am I too weak?"

"You’re still young. I’ve lived for hundreds of years and can only run; what could you possibly do?" Dreyne patted Wayne on the shoulder, her comfort minimal.

Feeling inadequate should propel you to grow; you should understand that without needing your big sister to teach you.

Wayne stayed silent for a long time, gazing at where the space tunnel had been, tragic faces flashing before his eyes, promising himself, "One day, I will change this world!"

...

Inverted World.

The destruction Dreyne had anticipated did not occur; the mirror remained just a mirror, ignoring the wasteland, and everything was serene.

At the end of the Abyss’ Darkness, tentacles formed of negative information moved chaotically.

A closer look revealed that these tentacles were trying to escape this place.

At the heart of the Darkness, a figure riding a black horse emerged like a hazy mist.
