Chapter 1000: Chapter 361 One day, I will change the world_3
Overturning someone else’s table, leaving them no chance to retaliate.
Dreyne: (゚Д゚)
The Ice Beauty was trembling with anger, drawing her White Night Purity Words to give Wayne a piece of her mind. Wayne showed no signs of fear, and also pulled out his White Night Purity Words. Their faces were so close, barely a finger’s breadth apart, noses almost touching.
William tilted his head, predicting by this trend, his counterpart in the Outer World would gain another ’big sister.’
Philomena watched the farce with a blank expression, occasional flickers of red light in her gaze. Without the protection of Divine Artifacts, deeply affected by negative information, her situation was very pessimistic.
Upon learning that the world was destined to be destroyed and she could not escape, Philomena’s jealousy towards her Outer World self turned into hatred. She wanted to drag Wayne down with her so that her Outer World self would end up alone and lonely.
Dreyne and Wayne, staring at each other, suddenly turned, surprised, looking down at the Abyss below: "It’s filled up, the mission is complete, we can withdraw."
William’s expression darkened. He rose to his feet and congratulated them with a smile, while Philomena furrowed her brows and gripped Wayne’s sleeve.
Wayne blinked, "How about... we stay for a couple more days and play cards?"
"I don’t mind..."
Dreyne shrugged, leaped down into the Abyss, and when she returned, she held a silver-white bottle in her hand.
The Treasure Vase resembled a bright, clear moon, with smooth lines and a slightly inward-curving mouth, its body carved with complex and intricate patterns.
On closer inspection, within the light reflected from the patterns, one could see a silhouette holding the Treasure Vase.
Dreyne was a Moonlight Knight and the figure must represent the Moonlight Goddess.
She placed the sealed Treasure Vase into her Personal Space, reshaped the poker chips and continued playing, in no rush to urge Wayne to leave with her.
It was clear that Wayne was struggling with a decision.
Dreyne said nothing. She could teach the successor how to use White Night Purity Words and various combat techniques, but the successor was still too young, and how to walk his path in the future, he must find out step by step.
Life’s trajectories differ; truths that applied to her might not suit Wayne.
Wayne, your life is destined to be longer than those around you. Getting too entangled in emotions is not good for your future self. One day you will learn to contain your emotions to protect yourself and become numb and unfeeling.
Dreyne thought this to herself without voicing it out loud; becoming numb and unfeeling was too selfish, she quite liked Wayne the way he was now.
After all, it’s always better for the youth to be lively.
The card game continued amidst laughter and chatter, but the atmosphere grew more and more oppressive.
At the end, Dreyne won a round against Wayne, without any joy in avenging past defeats, she sat gloomily tapping the poker chips on the table.
The mood was too dire; she wanted to wait elsewhere.
Boom!!!
From deep within the Abyss, a mysterious tremor attacked, as if some behemoth were awakening from a long slumber. Its terrifying breath skyrocketed, shattering spatial barriers and merging the space behind the Misty Sea with Highway 114.
Amidst the world spinning, an immense pressure fell from the sky.
All four felt waves of palpitations; the air grew thick with every breath, suffocating, and a nameless fear surged in their hearts.
Even Dreyne, at the Demigod Level, had her eyes widened.
Or rather, it was precisely because of her Demigod Level power that she could perceive how terrifying the awakened beast was.
"There are still such things in the Inverted World..."
Dreyne looked incredulously at the Abyss: "What exactly is it? A harbinger of the Inverted World’s collapse or is this harbinger the cause of the collapse?"
Her gaze shone with silver-white light, peering through layers of space. Behind the Abyss, in the boundless depths of the Inverted World’s land, she saw a dark cloud coiled together.
Darkness mingled with red lines, twisting and writhing, without a fixed form. Black tentacle-like filaments extended, burrowing into the land of the Inverted World, drawing upon endless negative information.
While Dreyne was in shock, a fierce mental wave struck her, freezing her in place, and a trickle of crimson flowed from under her nose.
"It has thoughts; it’s alive..."
Dreyne made a quick decision, pointed into the air, and threw White Night Purity Words out, piercing through the mirror-like space fragments, and laid her hand on Wayne’s shoulder.
"We can’t stay in the Inverted World any longer; we leave now."
Wayne was about to speak, but his hand tightened, turning to see Philomena with blood-red eyes.
"There’s no need to hesitate; they can’t leave this world. If you don’t believe me, I can show you," Dreyne refused to deal with parting sorrow at life and death moments, too lengthy and definitely catchable by the monsters in the end.
She sent the three of them into the spatial passage with a punch and a kick, followed by a leap toward the end of the tunnel and its point of light.
This was a dreamlike space with changing, unpredictable colors – a myriad of brilliant fragments slowly rotating, forming various shapes and colors, like a kaleidoscope, the patterns changing every moment, filled with infinite possibilities.
Beautiful, yet dangerous.
There were many exits from this perilous passage, each misstep leading to a point of no return, but with White Night Purity Words to anchor the space of the Outer World, Dreyne, leading the way, had no fear of getting lost.
The trio followed closely behind; Wayne documented everything with his mind, broadening his horizons and acquiring new knowledge.
William and Philomena ran swiftly, both prepared for the possibility of not being able to leave, but with the path of life right before them, they couldn’t help but hope for a stroke of luck.
