Fu Chenlie was not persuaded by her words. On the contrary, his brow furrowed as he probed deeper, "What exactly is going on with you?"

She twitched the corner of her mouth, said nothing, turned, walked over to the passenger side, waited for Fu Chenlie to unlock the doors, then pulled open the door and got into the car, buckling up quietly.

Fu Chenlie watched her movements intently, and after she got into the car, he came back to his senses, opened the driver’s door, and got in.

The car soon left Huan Island Villa, entered the main road, and merged into traffic.

Roughly ten minutes later, he came out with a few items, stowed them in the trunk, and got back into the car.

"Gifts."

"My grandma doesn’t eat those."

Wen Ran stopped talking.

Let him be, it was already bought anyway.

"Is it?" His words carried an ambiguous tone. After speaking, he stepped closer to her, bending down to reach for her hand.

She instinctively pulled her hand behind her back, looking at him as if nothing was amiss, "Aren’t we supposed to take the gifts and visit Grandma? Why aren’t you taking them? Is there something you want to say to me?"

"You’ve been avoiding physical contact with me; do you think I haven’t noticed?"

"You’re overthinking it."

Fu Chenlie suddenly stepped closer, then abruptly pulled her hand, deliberately squeezing and playing with it in his grasp.

That wasn’t enough; he held her gaze with a provocative look in his eyes, and then slowly lifted her hand, continually pulling it towards his lips.

Wen Ran realized what he intended to do and tried desperately to pull back.

But her feeble strength was no match for him.

He succeeded with ease, effortlessly placing her hand to his lips for a kiss. During this process, his dark eyes stayed fixed on hers, as if he wanted to observe every subtle change in her expression.

The warm touch of the man’s thin lips transmitted to her fingers, and Wen Ran instinctively wanted to retract her hand.

But Fu Chenlie, as if deliberately contending with her, held it very tightly.
