My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me!
Chapter 127: Are You My Husband?

Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Are You My Husband?

Wen Ran stared at Fu Chenlie, her lips slightly pursed, and asked in a low voice, "If we go to the old house and Grandma asks how you got hurt, what will you say?"

"Just tell the truth," he replied indifferently.

But Wen Ran was very anxious, "Then won’t Grandma know we haven’t consummated the marriage?"

Fu Chenlie glanced at her, "So?"

She came up with an idea, "You... you could say it was an accident."

"Do you think everyone is as foolish as you, foolish enough to shoot themselves in the foot?"

"So you think being hurt by someone else is more honorable?"

His eyes flickered, a hint of displeasure in his dark gaze as he spoke in a tone suggestive of bullying, "Wen Ran, are you arguing with me?"

Wen Ran gritted her teeth and stood up from the sofa, "Say whatever you want to Grandma, let her find out we haven’t consummated the marriage, after she knows, she definitely won’t do anything to me. It will only be you in trouble then, don’t regret it."

Having said that, she turned and walked towards the staircase.

"Stop!" A chilly voice called out from behind her.

Wen Ran halted her steps, turning back to look at him, "What now?"

He frowned, his tone dangerous, "Now?"

She pursed her lips and corrected herself, "What is it?"

"I have plans tonight and won’t be home for dinner. You’ll need to sort out your own."

Wen Ran inwardly rolled her eyes upon hearing this.

It sounded as though he ever handled dinner when he was home. Hasn’t she always been the one to cook?

Without responding, she spoke indifferently, "Then I’ll stay over at the old house after lunch there and keep Grandma company. I’ll return to the villa after dinner."

The man scoffed, "Thinking quite fondly, aren’t you? But who said we were going to the old house for lunch?"

Wen Ran was stunned.

Didn’t he say?

It seemed he hadn’t, indeed. She had merely inferred it based on the few words Fu Chenlie exchanged with Grandma during their call.

Realizing this, a smile spread across her face, "So dear, are we having lunch at home?"

"What else? Going hungry?"

"I’ll make you something delicious for lunch, you’ll be pleased."

Fu Chenlie gave her a sharp look, coldly remarking, "Your face changes faster than flipping a book."

Wen Ran was in a good mood now and didn’t mind what he said. She even took the moment to patiently explain her earlier attitude, "Actually, I was mainly worried that if we went to the old house, Grandma might trouble you, and you’d be unhappy. You’re my husband, and I want you to be happy."

After all, only if he was happy could she feel better.

He didn’t pass judgment on that, instead rising from the sofa and nodding towards the documents on the coffee table, "Get everything together and take them to the study."

With that, Fu Chenlie stepped forward, passing Wen Ran as he headed upstairs.

Watching his retreating figure, she belatedly responded, "Okay, I’ll bring them right up."

Wen Ran was in high spirits, humming a tune as she gathered the documents from the table.

Having lunch at home meant Grandma wouldn’t find out she had accidentally hurt Fu Chenlie’s head.

Fu Chenlie was going out to dine with friends in the evening, and she could use the opportunity to lend Zhao Xiuyun a hand.

Everything was working out just fine.

She finished organizing the documents and carried them upstairs.

As she entered the study, Fu Chenlie had just lit a cigarette.

Seeing him holding the lighter, the one she had given him, she couldn’t help but sneer internally—

Still holding on to it, can’t bear to put it down, likes the gift she gave him that much?

If he liked it so much, why mock her earlier?

Definitely not well.
